It's a crowded field but
'That's the bone woods, with it's mists.'
Has to be a top 3 alex aster line to me. It is number 3 after I've destroyed many planets to consume their energy and they say you can't survive without a creature. But its so good.
This question came up the other night and I wanted to tweet it but couldn't figure out how to ask it in so few characters.
But like what is the MINIMUM amount of money that you could win/receive/inherit tomorrow that would change your life? Obviously, winning something like a million dollars would change anyone's life but what is the smallest sum that would impact your day-to-day?
(does that make sense??? I'm just so curious what everyone's individual interpretation of "life changing" is)
this is your captain speaking. do you guys remember 9/11 [escalating clamor of passengers freaking out] woah woah hey hey i was just curious. christ. am i not allowed to make conversation
just found out you can do more than one thing each day. i was just doing the one
this literally isn't true please stop spreading lies

"Shaking my head so everyone knows I disapprove" was meant to be a joke about needless posturing in preemptive defense against a hypothetical bad faith crowd, but I fear it's pmuch now a lifestyle
Shaking my head but catching the cameras eye and giving a sick grin nobody in the scene notices so you know i have evil intentions
teenage girls in fiction: hes so cute i wanna slow dance with him at prom :3 hehe
real teenage girls: imagine if he got injured and i had to tend to his wounds and i could watch him seize up a bit as i disinfect them and in the haze of fever he sees me as an angel
it’s 2014 can taylor swift stop
when heath ledger refused to participate in brokeback mountain skits and said “it’s not a joke to me” that’s how i feel when fast car by tracy chapman is alluded to in almost any context
when the character is obsessive and desperate and guilty and scared and ashamed and traumatized and repressed
the internet seems like a distant dream
whatever we are on rn is not the internet. It's ads
i think it's tempting to be defeatist about this, but everyone is a few easy google searches away from fixing their surfing experience. adblockers are good. dns-based ad and tracker blocking is easy to set up with a little effort. browser extensions will reign in cookies and scripts. your internet surfing experience CAN be ad-free, and faster because your browser is not loading 293847 scripts and running auctions in the background to see who gets your data. but you have to put in a modicum of effort.
1) people should not have to put effort into not having their data taken and sold from them
2) even with all the ad blockers in the world they still get through because nothing is 100% especially with sponsored content (and ESPECIALLY when it's not flagged as sponsored content)
3) sometimes you will have to use devices that aren't your own and that you can't just download adblockers on, like public computers
4) stop making this out to be an issue created by the individual when it's the fault of megacorporations polluting the online sphere with bloat that wastes actual material energy and resources for pointless advertisements
5) I am allowed to vent
i dog and i dog on grrm but every time i go on that damn subreddit i get so defensive of that old man. oh you think it's so easy? you think it's all fun and games to write a thousand page book in a multipov multicontinental densely structured narrative setting with all the world's eyes on you? go ahead u/chudmeister0621 pick the pen we're all waiting
joining the war on kids reading any book they want on the side of kids reading any book they want. simply you will be fine. it's even good to be confronted with things you don't understand and even find upsetting, uncomfortable and difficult. it's a surprise tool that will help you later.

literally ok so not a funny story but kind of funny? when I was nine I encountered rape in a book and I was like hey mom what’s this mean and she explained it and I was like oh. gross. and then like two weeks later a girl on the bus abruptly disclosed her csa and we were all like ????? what ???? but I was like wait hang on there’s a word for that ☝️🤓 and explained what it meant and that it was illegal and that you could talk to a teacher or my mom if it had happened to you and everyone was like ohhhhh I see I see and very somberly comforted the girl (she was safe she was removed from her home and living with my neighbor at the time so it wasn’t Urgent)
And this is a perfect illustration of why it is important for kids to read or variety of things, and why abusers don’t want them to.
