How about a special peek at a little short story WIP Im working on for my new Ryuutama character, Linnea?
Surely nothing that’s about to happen is foreshadowed.
Nope.

Alright, today's the day ya'll are gonna learn how to make proper Chai! (no not Chai tea latte bullshit. Ya'll are literally asking for tea tea latte, doesn't make sense!)
Listen up!
1. Fill your cooking pot 1.5 parts (measured by the cup you're serving in) of water.
2. Add a healthy pinch of grated ginger.
3. Take 3-4 cardamom cloves, break em open to get the seeds, crush them using a blunt object, like mortar and pestle (you can also grind in food processor) and add to pot. You can also just grind me up in a food processor, shell and all, and add it like that.
4. Add a tablespoon of black tea powder. Any Indian brand will work.
5. Bring the mix to a roaring boil.
6. Add milk until you get a slight clay pot color, or a darkish brown. Bring to a boil again.
7. Add sugar to taste.
8. Filter tea into a cup.
9. Aaaand voila, done! Serve with your favorite butter cookies/biscuit to dip in tea!
Enjoy!
Hail and well met! A little story-time, if you'll permit me. When I was last on Tumblr, specifically between 2016 and 2017, I ran a secondary blog called The Battering Ram. On this blog, I featured regular animal adventurer illustrations, along with names and little backstories.
I finished the project near the end of 2017, and archived the blog, before leaving Tumblr altogether in the exodus of 2018/9(?). I kept all of the 50 animal adventurer illustrations, but was unsure what to do with them.
As I have been working as a full-time freelance artist since 2018, and I now offer animal character / pet portrait commissions, I thought it was time to revisit and showcase some of my favourite regulars at the Battering Ram Tavern & Inn!
I'll probably to do some new animal adventurer characters now that I'm back on Tumblr. In the meantime, if you like what you see and are interested in getting an animal character or pet portrait in this style, my commissions information is linked at the bottom of this post.
Thanks for reading! COMMISSIONS INFO.
I recently shared one of the city outlines I made for my homebrew world, Eddara, so I thought I’d share the actual world outline too!
Once again I’m using Ryuutama has a guide for a starting point… I’m hoping to use this setting for writing stories in, but I’m also hoping to actually run some TTRPGs in it some day too! I’m taking the approach now like I’m preparing for a campaign more than a novel, and to be honest I think it’s helping me out to approach it that way (a wild order of operations for me, as someone who’s been writing stories since age 9 haha)
This will very much be updated and changed, but I hope you enjoy checking it out for now! Maybe it can help give another writer a needed boost? 💕✨
I have already added a bunch of details and new lore for this world! I can’t wait to clean it up and share updates and new details… I hope you’re enjoying following along my writer’s block break through— here’s hoping it lasts!
Here’s a small peek:
blowing a kiss to all the disabled people who cant work and a kiss to all the disabled people who shouldnt be working but have to because of their circumstances and a kiss to disabled people who have never and will never work and a kiss to the disabled people who dont want to work your worth is not measured by your productivity ily
Here is a series of bird mounted mouse archers! Each one represents a different season.

Series of recreating classic artwork in my style (gay)

“I could make that abstract art, anyone could” then make it. Unironically. Go buy some paints. Do a mild googling. Do it, make the same art. See what it feels like. Find out what it inspires in you. Back in high school one kid was pretty disparaging of Jackson Pollock’s art until we MADE Jackson Pollocks and it became his THING for the rest of the year. You could go into the art room on break to find him picking out colors and preparing space to make em. Try on the abstract art and let yourself forge a genuine connection to it, coward.
This is a great point. Maybe seeing a painting and thinking “I could’ve done that” should be inspiring instead of disparaging. Like, if a simple abstract painting is considered Art, then maybe the takeaway isn’t “wow, art is dumb,” it’s “wow, I could make art”

We interrupt this lovely readalong for more HarperCollins union news.
Namely, the union is on strike. HarperCollins, the second largest publishing house in the United States, has made record profits (in the billions) but refuses to pay its employees a living wage or negotiate in good faith. Unlike the one-day strike earlier this year, this will be an open-ended strike, to last until a fair, good-faith contract is agreed upon.
I cannot overstate the implications here. HarperCollins is a 200-year-old behemoth with over 120 imprints, owned by billionaire Rupert Murdoch. You have reads books from this company, I guarantee it. You have enjoyed movies and TV shows spawned by this company. The workers striking at the blood and sweat responsible for launching those properties you love. And as Harper goes, so goes the rest of the industry. If we raise the living standards for one, so the pressure increases on other companies to raise it for all.
The Harper Union need your support. They have a full thread here, but here’s the gist of what they’re asking:
EVERYONE:
- Donate to the strike fund if you can
- Politely email Harper’s HR ([email protected]) and the CEO ([email protected]) to express your support for the strike and the union.
- Boost their message on social media and among your social circles (here are some assets you can use to do that)
- If you are in the NY metro area, come join the picket line at 195 Broadway in Manhattan!
BLOGGERS/REVIEWERS/BOOKSTAGRAMMERS/BOOKTOKERS:
- If possible, please hold all reviews of Harper titles until the strike is over. (And I would add, if you feel comfortable doing so, tell Harper why.)
FREELANCERS/INDUSTRY HOPEFULS:
- Don’t be a scab. Don’t take new freelance projects or temporary positions while the strike is ongoing.
BOOKSTORES/BOOKSELLERS:
- Share the “I Stand With” graphic
- Print and distribute the union bookmark at your store
AUTHORS/AGENTS:
- Do not submit or sign new contracts to Harper until the union’s own contract is finalized.
———
Please note they are not asking for a boycott on Harper titles. A boycott would harm the authors, who have nothing to do with this, so the union is explicitly requesting no boycott.
Also, please do not @ Harper social accounts to yell at them. Direct all feedback to that peopleteam email. The majority of folks watching those accounts are out on the picket line anyways, and their managers have already been warned that, as non-union members, they risk termination if voice any public support for the strike.
For more info, check out the union’s accounts on Twitter and Instagram. I also recommend this Twitter thread for some hard facts and figures.

Hey btw, if you're doing worldbuilding on something, and you're scared of writing ~unrealistic~ things into it out of fear that it'll sound lazy and ripped-out-of-your-ass, but you also don't want to do all the back-breaking research on coming up with depressingly boring, but practical and ~realistic~ solutions, have a rule:
Just give the thing two layers of explanation. One to explain the specific problem, and another one explaining the explanation. Have an example:
Plot hole 1: If the vampires can't stand daylight, why couldn't they just move around underground?
Solution 1: They can't go underground, the sewer system of the city is full of giant alligators who would eat them.
Well, that's a very quick and simple explanation, which sure opens up additional questions.
Plot hole 2: How and why the fuck are there alligators in the sewers? How do they survive, what do they eat down there when there's no vampires?
Solution 2: The nuns of the Underground Monastery feed and take care of them as a part of their sacred duties.
It takes exactly two layers to create an illusion that every question has an answer - that it's just turtles all the way down. And if you're lucky, you might even find that the second question's answer loops right back into the first one, filling up the plot hole entirely:
Plot hole 3: Who the fuck are the sewer nuns and what's their point and purpose?
Solution 3: The sewer nuns live underground in order to feed the alligators, in order to make sure that the vampires don't try to move around via the sewer system.
When you're just making things up, you don't need to have an answer for everything - just two layers is enough to create the illusion of infinite depth. Answer the question that looms behind the answer of the first question, and a normal reader won't bother to dig around for a 3rd question.
Lots of Thoughts today but this tweet just summed up a lot
if you "offer disability accommodations" but mandate the person have an impossible amount of paperwork to "prove" that they're disabled before even speaking to them, you don't fucking offer accommodations.
How about a peek at a city I just made for a little writing project/experiment? I used Ryuutama’s Town Building sheet to help give me some points to outline for my starting inspiration!
i was talking to my coworker about my disability/chronic pain and she said "well im glad you didnt let it make you mean and cynical" which, we all know what she meant was "im glad you aren't like the other mean, scary, cripples" which is fucking ridiculous, because i am. and it did.
i am mean. im fucking pissed. im tired of existing in a world that was made to exploit and kill people like me, and im sick of able-bodied bitches acting like they have any fucking idea what its like.
the amount of pain i experience every day is enough to make most people consider suicide, so pardon me and my crippled friends if we seem a little bitchy.
i shouldnt have to kiss abled ass to be considered "one of the good cripples". fuck you.
Any situation in which someone says some equivalent of “you’re one of the good ones!”, is a situation that person should have kept their mouth shut.
It is NOT the compliment nondisableds think it is.
