Scooby doo shelf collection thing
Hello All!! As you might have seen, I have spent this last week compiling all the monsters listed in the Scooby-Doo Encyclopedia (which covers every series from Where Are You through 13 Ghosts) into a spreadsheet, categorizing them by type, realness, and series. This is an ongoing project, but I wanted to be able to share what I have so far in terms of data!! Let's begin with a breakdown of Monster Types!!
This first pie chart details the breakdown by pure monster type, meaning monsters that are only one sort of monster. This may seem arbitrary, but as you can see, a whopping 25% of all monsters across the series included are some sort of combination monster. That's the largest category overall, but the largest specific category is Ghosts, with 19.7% of the 203 listed monsters being just a pure ghost. Some are sheets and some are just glowing translucent dudes, but either way they're haunting the gang intensely.
The only sort of monster that never appears outside of a combination is the Pirate. I almost excluded that category for this reason, but enough pirates existed in combination (always with ghostliness) that i didn't feel right dropping them.
This chart is much like the first one, but counts the combination monsters in with each type they contain. Because of this overlap, the percentages technically add up to 137.93%. but that's fine, cause theyre still taken out of the 203 monsters. Now we can see that 37.44% of these monsters are some sort of Ghost, with Magic Users and non-anthro Animals being the next largest categories. For those counting, that's 76 instances of a Ghost type monster, most of which are combined with some other monster type!! Speaking of which...
These two charts detail the combinations, with the first one being about the sort of combos we get and how often they occur, and the second being about the instances of each type in the totality of the "multiple" category.
Notably, 69% of combination monsters are Ghosts. Nice.
Some monster types never get combined, however, with Skeletons, Robots, Cavemen, Greek Myths, Mummies, European Legends, Dragons, and Evil Humans always occurring as just themselves with no extra modifiers. But now you get to imagine a Dragon Skeleton Mummy, or any such combination and boom. Scooby-Doo Monster OC. You're welcome.
This concludes the data I currently have analyzed/available. I hope to have more soon, either a dive into which sort of monster is most often real or a dive into type percentages per Series (most of the real ones seems to be the ones from the Scrappy series, so I bet that will overlap the two categories). If you have any requests on data or even just want to see the actual main sheet these charts are pulling data from, please let me know, this has become a passion project in a very real sense.
You'll never recover from what I'm about to Scooby-Fucking-Doo to you

Scooby-Doo Eras, to me
Classic: Where Are You through A Pup Named, with all Scrappy-Doo shows and movies as a sub-era but equally loved and included. This is just the era that filled out the majority of the Scooby-Doo DNA (especially pup and tsds) and so gets put together.
Mook: the 4 films made by Mook Animation, Zombie Island->Cyber Chase. Mainly put together because of the studio, but also because they have a fairly consistent style, tone, and idea of the characters, which pulls largely from the classic, but adds a little cherry on top.
New: basically all of the 2000's, but more specifically What's New, Get A Clue, and every DTV where Casey Kasem has returned. Get a Clue is the only bit I'm iffy on but it doesn't really fit anywhere else to my memory. James Gunn films are kinda in this era but also between this and Mook cause they pull heavily from Zombie Island and Classic, but also mesh strongly with the idea of "Scooby but in the 2000s" that New upholds. The general idea of the era is just that. The classic characters but in a modern cartoon that knows its a formula, but is fine with that.
Revamp: Mystery Incorporated, Be Cool, Guess Who, and every DTV from Abracadabra-Doo up til the latest, which is Krypto Too. The two live action prequel films also fit in here, as well as the live Daphne and Velma. This is sort of characterized by experimentation with the tone, characters, and formula in general. As well as Matthew Lillard taking over the role of Shaggy.
Now here's one that could have happened but didn't. Guess Who and Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo both share an art style, which is intended to be reminiscent of the Classic Era (though without allowing any organs in the ladies for some reason). But because WB also started canceling shit, we only got the one DTV, so it can't really qualify as an era to me. Sorry, it's not your many flaws this time, it's just capitalistic greed.
Scoob!, much as I enjoyed it, doesn't really fit in an era, maybe it and Guess Who can go in an era called "things that didn't go as planned", oh well.

Jinkies! Do you hate that Mindy Kaling, the creator of⦠The Sex Life of College Girls⦠ruined Americaās iconic and lovable nerd, Velma Dinkleyās name by creating that awful show named after her, which is now considered the WORST cartoon show to ever be created?
Well, we are creating our own series dedicated to Ms. Dinkley herself!
Since Mindy called her show, āVelmaā, we are calling OUR comic seriesā¦
THAT'S RIGHT, SUCK MY JINKIES, KALING!
This series will be created by REAL Scooby Doo fans and Velmaniacs who actually have a vast knowledge and love for her and the franchise unlike āMindy Dinklingā herself⦠Velma deserves to have a series that was made by people who actually love and care about her character.
If this interests you, then we need help from YOU to help bring this series to life! We are looking for writers, artists, proofreaders, and more!

fuck you, mindy kaling.
Do you guys see the vision?
A Debbie/Velma edit using that collage-style background I was playing around with a couple months ago.
Working on a spreadsheet categorizing all the monsters in the Scooby-Doo Encyclopedia, which covers all the series up to and Including 13 Ghosts. Once its done it'll have charts and analysis about what the most common monsters are, the most common motives, maybe even correlations between the two. love doing this kind of thing
some scooby doo sketches of my own au where its a psuedo-sequel of the classic series where now only scooby shaggy and velma are still part of gang
(feat. older art of these designs under cut:)
two villians from Where Are You? and two villians from my own AU
Fred and Daphne are so misunderstood. They are not boring together, they are not useless, they love eachother so much, they are the embodiment of āasked for no picklesā, they are both passionate about neckwear, they are both a bit vain, they are the colors of the bi flag, she loves motorcycles and he loves circuses, sheās his knight in shining armor, both would jump headfirst into a volcano if they thought they saw a clue at the bottom, if you hurt one of them say your prayers because the other one will hunt you down
