Fuu sat perched in a tree just above the stranger’s head, smiling as she listened to the sweet melody.
“You play some really nice music, mister!”
She called to him as she swung down from her branch, dangling from the tree like a carefree child.
“Sure is a funny lookin’ flute you got there though.”
He stops his music, a friendly smile coming to his features as he turns to his unexpected audience. The blond chuckles as the young woman swings, his attention going to the headband around her arm. She’s a kunoichi then?
“Thank you. I’m glad you liked it.” Turning the instrument in his hand for a moment, he holds it out so that she can get a better look at it. “It isn’t a flute though it’s called an ocarina. I’ve had it for as long as I can remember.”
“‘An ocarina?’” Fuu repeated, dropping down to the ground and walking over to peer at the strange instrument curiously.
“Well, it sounds real pretty!” she said, dropping down joviallly beside him. “I’m Fuu of the Hidden Waterfall! I’m fourteen and I like to play cards and backgammon!” She beamed brightly. “I’m trying to make 100 friends! Whatdya say, wanna be friends with me?”
