Today I performed this spell, excepting multipled.
I asked forgiveness of Matt. I asked forgiveness of myself. I tapped into him energetically so I could have him ask my forgiveness and his own by proxy.
I burned one copy of each and buried the other. All four requests were granted on all parts.
For my fellow fibre arts witches, if you're starting to get the Annual Cold Weather Fidget, that driving urge to reach for hooks and needles and that big bin of spools and fabric lurking in your closet....
If you feel like Doing A Witchcraft, you can work some witchy into whatever you're making. Weaving, crocheting, knitting, nalbinding, stitching, embroidery, and knotwork can all carry magic and serve as a vehicle for creating spells, sigils, talismans, or enchanted wearables.
Am I saying you can put a spell into that pair of socks you're knitting? That scarf you've been working on? That pile of granny squares waiting to become a blanket? That cross-stitch piece you've been meaning to finish?
ABSOLUTELY.
There are even books on knot magic, witchy crochet and knitting patterns, and beautifully spooky cross-stitch and embroidery pieces. (And lots more downloadable patterns exist on etsy and fibre arts forums!) Perfect for chilling with your favorite hot beverage and current binge-watch while you keep your hands from getting bored.
Hail the Underworld Goddess—midwifing our immanent rebirth— the time has come— she has struck the call on the ancient drum— our descent has begun— we must account for what we have done— we are dragged to the funeral fires— for our own good— for if we are to survive— these harrowing times— we must reckon with & wrestle our dark shadows & complicities in— our going along with the herd, turning our backs on our true humanity & our holy legacy—
When we sit in the fire, & we burn & wail, in lament & grief, we transform & we rise into our divine humanity, the humanity which we are intended to be, our ancient legacy— to bring the light of divinity & immortality of Soul to this Earth— the body of the Mother Goddess
Should have been a sign when I used to stop by the cemetery every day on my way home from school to check in about my day with a particular grave of a woman who had died more than a century earlier...
Then the witch is doing shit wrong bc I look young as shit in no small part bc of witchcraft. Looking young and beautiful does not meaning BEING helpless.
I can both know all the best oils to tighten and condition my skin plus what demon will grant me increased beauty AND also how to manipulate energy to temporary paralyze you at the same time.
More and more people are coming around to the possibility of different realms and the beings who rule those. Such as Spirits, Pagan Gods/Goddesses, Witches/Witchcraft, Fae, Mermaids, Sirens, etc.
This is largely because we are moving out of the Christian Age. For centuries Christianity has ruled the world, but no more. Enough is enough, so in my Worldly Mysteries series I will be explaining different types of creatures and how to work with them. This post is about Siren's.
I am open to requests on what creatures I should make a post about :)
There is multiple different myths about how Sirens came to be and what their purpose was;
One story says that Sirens were Persephone's companions/aids, and tried to help find her when Hades took her to the underworld. Demeter gave them wings to help the search, but when they failed to find her, and more so failed to prevent her rape. they were cursed into remaining in their monstrous form.
Another story says that sirens were the daughters of Achelous, and yet another says they were the daughters of Oceanus and Gaia
The mythology of Siren Folk has changed a lot over the millennia, but one thing remains consistent, they are shapeshifters that were usually women. (Which includes being stuck/cursed)
The main myth is that they are half bird, other myths say they are half fish (A "mermaid"). Another less common myth, yet very common in Hollywood Media, says that they can shift between half bird, half fish, and fully human.
Their main role in myth and media is that they have beautiful singing voices, sometimes accompanied by the music of either a lyre, a kithara, or a aulos, and they use their talents to lure sailors (mostly men) into their watery deaths.
A Siren will hypnotize a sailor with her voice, make the ship crash and sink against the rocks she sat upon, and some myths say they eat their victims after they drowned, but no matter the myth, there is rarely a victim who got away alive and unscathed.
Why should people work with Sirens? We'll get to that in a minute.
The most obvious reason someone might not want to work with them is because Sirens are depicted as... violent to say the least. However, so many deities all across the globe did more fucked up things then killing some probably horrible sailors.
Examples being; Zeus and Poseidon repeatedly sexually assaulted people, including their own sisters.
Hades kidnapped Persephone and manipulated her into being his wife.
Literally every god slept with people outside their spouses consent.
Cronus fucking ate his children.
And lastly, the sheer amount of gods who willingly had sexual relations, even bore children, with their parents, siblings, or own kids. (An example I already stated in this post, is Oceanus and Gaia. Gaia is Oceanus' mother, yet one myth says that they are the parents of the Siren.)
The list can go on forever, sirens are so tame compared to Gods and Goddesses, yet we still worship and love them?
Now, you may be asking, why would people still worship those Gods? Well, that's for another post, but the simplest answer is, because it's mythology. It was likely written by fucked up humans wanting to excuse their actions.
Anyway, back to the main question. Why should/would anyone work with The Siren? Here are a few reasons off the top of my head;
Glamour Magick. Sirens are depicted as one of the most beautiful beings that exist, that you would think they were daughters of Aphrodite. Not only that, but water is just... healing. Water in general is a powerful tool in Glamour Magic, now pair that with a Siren. You'll be catching everyone's heads.
Sex Magick. Sirens hypnotize and control people for shits and giggles, honey if you invoke them for sexual magick your gonna have the best night of your life. Not only that, but sexual healing, body image healing, etc.
Similar to the first two, Love Magick. I personally do not practice love magick without all parties consent, but no matter the rules you have for your practice, Siren's attract people of all genders, if you invoke them for Love Magick, whoever your doing it for, even if it's yourself, is gonna find someone that worships the ground they walk on.
Confidence. Working with the Siren can teach you how to view yourself in a healthy way, and understand yourself in a way you never did before.
Luck Magick. Siren's are creatures of the sea, and the sea brings luck and prosperity. The sea brings you treasure and joy, working with the Siren could attract good things your way.
Working with Siren's could also teach you how to direct your manifestations. Once more, they hypnotize men and rarely don't get what they want. Siren energy could teach you how to lure good things to you/your target in a more definite way.
Also, if you have a fear or trauma around water/swimming, you could invoke the Siren's to basically catch your fall. Invite them to go with you, to protect you and give you the confidence you need. After all, one myth says that Siren's aren't naturally sea creatures, they would know how to become one with water more than anything.
If you want more confidence in your voice, singing or just using it in general, they could help build your confidence and identify where your fear comes from and how to stop holding back. The most powerful part of anyone's practice is their voice, your true voice comes from your chest, and they could help you tap into that.
On the darker side,
Siren's can help with baneful magic. Again, they hypnotize and kill sailors. If you invoke siren energy for baneful workings, your target is gonna basically be yours for the attack, Siren's lower all guards and protections.
They could teach you how to lie with confidence. Not in a way that's harmful, but in a way that keeps you safe.
They could help show you your Shadow, helping you work towards your goals in life by delving head first into your past traumas and processing them.
Siren's could teach you how to use your feminine wiles, how to manipulate energy around you to get what you want, and make sure you aren't ignored.
How might someone worship them? After all, worshipping is how you begin a relationship with a divine entity.
Here is some things I would do;
Leave offerings at the beach for the ocean to take for the Sirens. Such as sand drawings, sea shell structures, seaweed sculpture, etc.
Sing songs at the beach for the Sirens, if you can't or don't want to, you could also do it with a picture of the beach, water collected from the ocean, or even in your bathtub.
Make an Altar for them. I feel like Siren's would want their own Altar or dedicated space, especially in places like a window, bathroom, or really anywhere you would practice Glamour Magick.
Learn how to speak their language. Use your voice, and your femininity to achieve what you want.
Send flowers out into the ocean for the Sirens, but please make sure the flowers are safe to degrade in the sea.
Do I have any warnings to working with or worshipping them? Yeah, here's a few;
Don't ask for protection without doing the work to help protect yourself.
If you have a familial practice, safely teach your children about Siren's. They are chaotic, and children need calm beings to be around, such as Persephone.
Treat Sirens with the same respect you would any deity or spirit, they are still divine beings, not monsters.
Siren's are chaotic beings, make sure you have proper goals for your relationship, otherwise it could overwhelm you. (At the same time though they are tranquil beings... it's like two sides of the same coin)
I am really sad there isn't a lot of resources on working with Siren Energy on google and tumblr. There is shit tons of information on working with the Fae, why not the merfolk :(
Republicans can't win without threatening and committing violence.
January 6th-like insurrections and election tampering will happen in states all across the country this time.
Don't let her down!
hi!! im Kuhli, you reblogged one of my posts and said if i had any questions i could ask you? so im here now! i was wondering if you know anything about energy work or maybe protection? im interested in souls as a concept as well but im not sure exactly what your specialty is so it's okay if you can't help me with this ^_^
thank you so much!!

Oh hey! I know a little bit about both things. I don't often do "energy work" in a traditional sense, only because my personal magic system is tailored to draw less energy from my "personal store" due to my chronic illness.
I think I can safely say that many witches use energy as a sort of "binder" to hold the magic together. Just like a car needs gas to run, magic needs energy to work. I like to work under the basic laws of physics: energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only changed or transformed. So, where does that energy come from?
Any number of sources! Some people light a candle and draw energy from that into their spells. Others manipulate the energy of the wind. Some use storms. As mentioned above, it can even come from your own personal store of energy, but that can be incredibly draining. It could even come from combined source. Any sort of "event" that would, in theory, be that transformation of energy, can be used. It doesn't always have to be kinetic energy, you can use potential energy as well. You can put energy into a spell to have it be used up at a different time. This would be an example of a delayed effect spell. When you pull back on a rubber band, you're giving it a whole bunch of potential energy, which remains as potential energy until you release the band and it goes flying across the room. That potential energy isn't getting destroyed, it can't be. So when you put that potential metaphysical energy into a spell, it stays there until it's needed.
Now, if the spell is actually doing something, then yeah, the energy is likely to get depleted, and you'll probably want to "recharge" the spell, so to speak. That's why many witches will remind you to "charge your protection spells", because the protection is an active process, it's burning energy, so every once in a while it's a good idea to refresh them.
Protection spells can come in many forms. One of my personal favorites is the witch bottle. You can use any number of correspondences, a mix of herbs and crystals that match your intention. I sealed it with black wax, because in my practice black is the "universal" color (a lot of witches say white can be used to substitute any color when using a color correspondence, which I can understand, seeing as when talking about light as a spectrum, white encompasses all other colors, but I prefer black, just for personal preference).
However, protection spells, as I said, come in innumerable forms. There's wards, which are often protection of a house or delineated space. There's spells of all kinds, whether it's a chant or prayer, a physical representation of the spell (like the witch bottle), a talisman or superstition (like a horseshoe hung over the doorframe). There's even something as simple as sprinkling eggshell powder across a doorway to prevent negativity from crossing the threshold.
There's no "right" or "wrong" way to go about a spell. Intention is the foundation of your spell, regardless of what you do. The first question you should ask when trying to create a spell is "what am I trying to achieve with this?" Essentially, what is the goal of your spell? Is it protection? Prosperity? Health? Whatever it is, that's your starting point. From there, you can decide what would be the best spell method for this specific instance.
I hope this answers some of your questions about energy and protection. You're of course welcome back in my inbox any time, however I will warn you there's a very good chance I'll be taking a nap soon so if I don't answer, it's cuz I'm a very sleepy witch lol.
Want to chime in with a note on energy. It is possible to draw energy from the room. Keep a shit ton of plants and a couple table top fountains that were big like 20 years ago -- great you've got earth elements, running water, living things... all great energy sources. Like wind? Fans. Hey, get pretty ceiling fans if you can. Candles can always be lit.
You can make the indoors very energy accessible pretty easily and without people really thinking much of it if you want to keep your witchcraft under wraps. Literally everything contains energy, some more accessible than others.
I HIGHLY recommend plants and desktop fountains in every room you can. If you can put in ceiling fans, do so. (Light candles as often as possible, though while an element, not part of inviting in nature)
Moving air, moving water, living plants... these will let you connect to nature even if the outdoors is not your thing or if you live in an outdoor unfriendly place (Chicago has 3 weeks of good weather a year and they're not consecutive)
Where are you getting Celtic books? I'm a witch in the US with a large library and have not had that problem. In fact, I had to search like hell to find books on druidry and there's just not good stuff on the Celtic pantheon for study bc the Chirch are real good at burning stuff.
That's very true! There's a lack of accurate Celtic info. I meant focusing on vague Celtic mythology mixed with neo-pagan reconstruction and treating it as "the real witchy knowledge". Nowadays there's more than that, but a decade ago the entire internet and books had misinformation about it.
Oh fuck yes. And the Egyptians with no actual Ritual? Or the fucking Greeks are everywhere and its like 90% bullshit? The Norse where there's a million books but they only cover runes???
May I suggest Mantra magic from Asia? Very little bullshit, just straight up simple rituals.
Here’s an article that gives more details on the story, and what Harris said about it. The key points:
It was the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation that refused the surgery to the inmates. When the inmates fought the policy in court, as Attorney General of California, it was Harris’s job to represent the Department. Yes, she did it, but it wasn’t something she decided on her own to do. (Also, not for nothing, the inmates won the case.)
Her characterization of the episode: “On that issue I will tell you I vehemently disagree and in fact worked behind the scenes to ensure that the Department of Corrections would allow transitioning inmates to receive the medical attention that they required, they needed and deserved,” Harris said.
A policy now exists for inmates to receive transition-related care in California prisons (although apparently the DoC isn’t doing a great job of holding up its end of the bargain*--quelle surprise).
(*For the record, Harris finished her time as AG and became a Senator shortly after this agreement was reached, so it’s someone else’s job now to enforce it.)
The thing to keep in mind here is that, as Attorney General, Kamala Harris couldn’t wave her hand and have everything in the entire California Department of Justice go exactly as she wanted it--and she won’t be able to as Vice President, either. We currently have a president who thinks that’s how it works, and we’re damned lucky he’s wrong.
She had (and will have to) work with large number of people who hold different views. (Another article I read said that the California Department of Justice, which she ran as AG, employs about 4,800 people--that’s a lot of different views.) If she had refused to back the Department of Corrections in their case, she would have alienated people whose cooperation she needed to be able to rely on. (If she even had the option of not backing them and staying AG--I’m not sure how it works, exactly.) Even people who agreed with her about the specific matter might have disapproved of her hanging her subordinates out to dry. (Another thing our current president does constantly--notice how Harris isn’t saying that the person in her office who actually wrote these briefs is a bad guy that she barely knew.)
So here’s what actually happened when Kamala Harris “fought against transwomen in prison seeking gender affirmation surgery”:
The Department of Corrections had a policy denying gender-affirmation surgery to inmates.
Two inmates fought that policy in court.
Harris defended that policy in court (or, more accurately, was the supervisor of the person who did so--but the legal documents went out under her signature, and she takes responsibility for their content).
Harris also worked to change the policy.
If you’ve had a job, you’ve probably been in the position of having to carry out a policy that you don’t agree with. Your choices are to quit your job in protest or stay and argue that the policy should change. If you pick option B, you still have to follow the policy while you’re working to change it--again, just about the only person in the world who doesn’t know this is Donald J. Trump, because he’s never had a real job where he answered to anybody.
What this incident shows is that Kamala Harris is accustomed to working in a system where she doesn’t always get her own way, and that she knows how to lose the battle to win the war. As VP, she’s going to need those skills--especially if the Republicans keep the Senate, but even if the Democrats sweep everything in November, we’re notoriously bad at all pulling in the same direction. We’ve had about enough of the “I’m taking my ball and going home” style of leadership.
Bringing back this from 2020, because I’ve been seeing the rhetoric machine spinning up again.
The law, especially in a democracy, is a slow and frustrating thing. Lawyers are sometimes put in positions where they are presenting arguments for something they may disagree with.
The reason why a lawyer would agree to do this often comes down to the political theory that we must rigorously and honestly test ideas, and that requires cogent emphatic arguments from both sides.
It’s easy to say in this case that the correct result should be obvious, But we can’t just design a system that says “oh but you can skip the full legal process for stuff that is clearly right/wrong”
BECAUSE THEN THE PEOPLE WHO DISAGREE WITH YOU TAKE THAT IDEA AND USE IT TO PUT YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS IN JAIL OR EXECUTE YOU.
So yes, we apply this really onerous process to things that seem really obvious because we must apply the same standard to everything.
When you don’t you get shit like the current Supreme Court.
And to everyone who says, "Well, she should have just ignored the law, followed our her morals, and done the Right Thing!"
Okay.
Remember Kim Davis, that (now former) county clerk in Kentucky who, in 2015, refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses because of her religious beliefs?
You're basically saying that she was right and legally in the right to do so.
It's tempting, isn't it, to disregard laws and principles because you feel know that it's the right thing to do?
But ignoring the law, pretending you're not bound by it, yeah, that's what entitled, privileged people do. People who think the law doesn't apply to them.
The idea that there's an in-group whom the law protects, but doesn't bind, and an out-group whom the law binds but doesn't protect, is conservative, not progressive.
Where are you getting Celtic books? I'm a witch in the US with a large library and have not had that problem. In fact, I had to search like hell to find books on druidry and there's just not good stuff on the Celtic pantheon for study bc the Chirch are real good at burning stuff.
Protection Practices: Visualization, Grounding, Spells, and Sigils
Hello, My name is Alva Tauri! I am an herbalist, spirit worker, tarot and oracle reader, and lunar and herbal witch dedicated to closing the education gap when it comes to herbalism and witch practices!
It's come to my attention that a lot of people believe that you have to do protection spells exclusively to be protected. The reality is, you can do many different things to be divinely protected. Let's talk about small and large protection practices you can do daily, weekly, or monthly to make certain that you are protected and safe!
"What small acts can I do everyday to be protected?"
Visualization:
when I think of protection, the very first thing that comes to mind is visualization. your perspective on the situations you are in greatly changes the situation itself. for day to day protection I would recommend the following:
Basic Visualization: sitting in a still and quiet place and closing your eye. Now, visualize yourself surrounded by a white or pink light. Visualize that bright light removing all of the negative energy from you, and surrounding you, protecting you from all outside negative energy. you can do this multiple times a day if necessary. however, I recommend doing this before you go out in public, before going to bed, and when you wake up in the morning.
Shower Visualization: another routine that is easy to implement, as it involves something you already have to do, is visualization during hygiene. whenever you take your bath or a shower, visualize the water running down you cleansing you inside and out and then watch as all the negative energy on you goes down the drain.
if doing a spell each and every day is not right for you that is perfectly fine! but I would recommend doing at least one of these a day (if not both) to ensure that you are protecting yourself each and every day.
in addition to this I recommend practicing yoga and/or meditating either under the sun or in front of a candle flame and, during this time, focusing on the sensations in your body. this exercise will prepare you for the next step, which is energy grounding.
"What small acts can I do to protect me for a longer period of time?"
Grounding Your Energy:
while the process of grounding your energy is rather simply, it can be more complex than it sounds, hence the exercise I gave you before this.
to ground your energy you have to truly be in touch with yourself, your energy, and have to be able to silence your mind. practice the mediation exercise until it feels right and, when it does, you are ready to take these steps to ground your energy.
sit or stand in a quiet and silent place with your feet to the ground: anywhere you can sit on the ground is best, outside is preferred but not required at all
find your core energy center: this varies for everyone, but you will feel it as you are practicing. find it and feel it connecting to the Earth.
take a few deep breaths, grounding yourself in the present moment: be silent, clear your mind, and breathe
visualize roots growing from the soles of your feet, anchoring you to the Earth
feel your energy centering and aligning with your intentions
remember, you do not need to ground your energy daily. typically, grounding is done during spells and rituals, thought that is not entirely necessary. tap into your sensitivity, and that will tell you when/how often you need to do this. for example: maybe you are a lunar witch, like myself. if you are then you may wish to do a grounding ritual linked to the moon. if you find that you connect with the seasons, you may wish to do one at the start of each season. tap into your sensitivity and find a time that is meaningful to you. then, find a protection spell or ritual and perform it after you've grounded your energy. this will last for a bit and will aid you in being protected.
Spells + Sigils:
lastly, if you have done all of the above, that is when I would recommend using a spell or a sigil. spells and sigils should never be used in lieu of basic visualization and grounding practices. however, there are times that call for more steps to be taken and, if that is the case, that is when you can turn to spells and sigils.
Now, there is a lot of information to cover when it comes to how spells work and what spells to use, as well as how to use and make sigils - far too much information for me to share here.
As I said before, if you have done all of the above and you think that you are in need of a spell or sigil for protection, I recommend checking out my "spells + sigils guide post", linked here. There you will find all the information you need on how to make, use, and activate a variety of spells and sigils, as well as how to be prepared for them.
That's all for protection practices! I hope that you found this helpful in your spiritual journey and I hope that you are able to apply this information to your practice.
if you have any questions regarding anything discussed here or anything you feel that I have missed, please send an ask to my ask box! I appreciate all comments and questions!
For more information on my practice, witchcraft, herbalism, spirit work, and divination please check out the guide on my page (linked here)! Everything I have ever posted can be found there!
I wish you all a blessed day filled with peace, endless wealth, and eternal health! Until the next time we meet!
Also, you can add hanging herbs and water safe crystals to your shower if it helps you connect.
Another is in the morning, extend your awareness out, feel the energy in the room, and pull it all toward you, in tight like a second skin. Imagine it sticking there, just floating slightly around you, a wall of energy protecting you.
