So I’ve begun DMing a session at home for my partner and some close friends. It’s my first time as a DM. We are running “Lost Mines of Phandelver” and let’s just say the group is pretty eclectic.
These are the tokens I have drawn up to use for the game.
Naneena
The Red Dragonborn Druid. After the rest of the party searched the Goblin hideout and rescued Sildar Hallwinter, taking him and delivering goods they had been hired to take to Phandalin, they ran into a group calling themselves the Redbrand Ruffians who proceeded to attack them…
During the fight, Naneena, who had stopped in Phandalin herself on the pursuit of someone calling themselves the Black Spider, stepped in. Introducing herself by pulling the leader back with a thorn whip, and incinerating him with her fire breath attack.
She now travels with the party, hoping to find clues to the Black Spider’s whereabouts from the rest of the Redbrands.
Portrayed by a friend my partner and I made going to Adventure League.
Duernitagaen.
Hill Dwarf Fighter. Pronounced in common as “Done it again”, or Dunny for short. Looking for ale money, the old Hill Dwarf took the job to accompany supplies from Neverwinter to Phandalin. After getting to Phandalin, current events leave him with further opportunity to earn gold and drink his ale, as well as an unlikely drinking buddy in the form of the Tiefling, Pwcca.
Portrayed by a crazy bartender friend from a job both my partner and I worked at.
Rurik Jenkinsfeld.
Hill Dwarf Cleric, of the Life Domain. A long time acolyte to Helm, god of protection, Rurik often took escort missions from Neverwinter and the surrounding towns in service to the god. As a way to worship his power, and to make gold in service to his name. With a smile always on his face, he knows that sometimes the only way to make peace, is to end a war that started its search.
Portrayed by my little brother. Just as nerdy as me!
Skalaniis Emissary.
Half-Elf Bard. He is one to be noticed by the people of the sword coast, as his tan skin and bright hair are of Zakharian ancestry, of which there is little to no physical presence in these lands. He comes “as an emissary of his people”, though the difference in customs seem worlds apart what from his reactions or expectations of those he walks with.
In an effort to learn more of the ways and language of the sword coast, he took the job in Neverwinter to travel with other adventurers and learn more of the world.

Pwcca.
Tiefling Rogue Assassin. His words cut just as sharp as his blades. While he may talk a lot, not much is known of the Tiefling, but everyone has their reasons for adventure. Pwcca puts the fear into many a commoner with his look akin to a pure devil. This has made him resentful of others to the point of threats to the lives of anyone who crosses him even in the slightest. He does know that in these lands a Tiefling traveling with a party looks much better than one that travels alone, which keeps him around the others for now. It doesn’t hurt that he can drink with someone either, though he doesn’t trust Dunny any further than he can throw a Dwarf.

Ginger Skye.
Human Fighter Sorcerer. On the cold trail of investigation for a criminal wanted highly in her home town, Ginger had set off single-handedly proclaiming her diligence in bringing them to justice… once she figures out who they are first.
Far from home, Ginger took up odd jobs to pay for her travels, while ever vigilantly upholding the laws set forth by the Lord’s Alliance, whose laws are upheld strictly in her home land.
She is assertive to a fault at times, but it can be seen in her words and actions that she is of good heart and soul.
After culling the threat of goblins ambushing the Triboar Trail, her latent magical essence burst from her body and produced shimmering blue scales in various places on her body while also giving her an understanding of sorcerer’s magics, though she’s yet to see them in the mirror.
Portrayed by another friend of ours from work, who plays D&D much more regularly than myself.
I plan on writing short blurbs about their adventures as they finish the starter story and we move into my home brew campaign. Let me know if you like what happens along the way!
