finally got to read the last chapter of aono kun and the epilogue (thank you bon if u see this) and ooooooooooooooooooooohkay. it really stuck the landing and ive been thinking about it all day long. being afraid of being hurt and wanting to be loved will really have you automatically repressing every desire youve ever had and revoking your own ability to meaningfully consent to anything at all before you have a chance to even form a single preference and thousands of little sacrifices every day will turn you into a ghost and the mountain of resentment will never erode and you will be functionally dead and whenever you finally receive that love it wont even be for you itll be for the formless nothing you became out of deference
