Asher Blackwell, the Eccentric Toxicologist (he/him)
my first PC, back from when i started playing flondon this most recent august. Bag a Legend. starting age about 29, current age about 40. was born into a very rich/noble family on the Surface and practiced medicine and toxicology. very gay (his parents found out and he was exiled to the Neath for it). later becomes a professor at the university, which is how he meets Oliver Pennwright/the Anxious Academic, one of my non-PC OCs. eventually [BAL SPOILERS] with Mr. Veils and replaces it as a Master, becoming Mr. Vials, the master of alchemy and glasswork.
Mr. Vials, the Split-Gaze Toxicologist (he/him)
a Master of the Bazaar that usurps Mr. Veils. bat species is an Ozark Big-Eared bat. aged anywhere 45-60 during the main timeline, but lives for at least a few centuries total/otherwise. is the Master of Science/Alchemy and Glasswork, covering part of Mr. Mirrors' trade that went to Mr. Cups. glasswork in his case means more like... actual glass than mirrors or anything Parabola-related. hoard/trade includes but is not not limited to vials (lol), beakers, test tubes, i guess drinking glasses if Cups wants to fight over it? seeing glasses too cause he has tho? idk. scientific instruments/implements like microscopes, needles and scalpels, telescopes, etc, and plants and substances most commonly used for scientific purposes and healing, taking a little bit from Apples' and Spices' trades. Oliver stays with him even as he becomes a Master, and many a year of living together later they realize they're more than just professor/employer and student/assistant to each other and get together and, eventually, married.
Arthur Blackwell, the Northbound Brother (he/him)
my second PC, and, if it wasnt obvious, Asher's brother, older by three years. Nemesis and SMEN. went down to the Neath about ten years after Asher's exile to look for him-- or what remained of him. Arthur's search for his brother led him NORTH, but he seems to have found Asher again after all, even if he looks a little young and doesn't remember anything about him... so he comes back home instead of sacrificing himself. unfortunately not much development outside of his relationship with Asher currently.
Silas "Sting" Greystone, the Ophidian Anarchist (it/its)
my third PC, acc created most recently of the three. Light Fingers. about 26 years old. was born into extreme poverty on the Surface, forced to steal, cheat, lie, and sometimes kill just to survive. eventually fled to the Neath to escape suspicion/avoid arrest. its initial quest for a cow-sized diamond led it to saving a creature and becoming its parent by blood, it became a snake, and also married the Neath's #1 freak of a man, Poor Edward. a very powerful Silverer by the end of its ambition; its left eye turns Cosmogone from all of its time and influence in Parabola, and it becomes the next October of the Calender Council.
Nathaniel "Solomon" Thorne, the Coquettish Claimant (any pronouns)
my fourth PC, who doesn't have an acc yet and has the least development. Heart's Desire. about 35 years old. will flirt with just about anyone. heavily involved in the great game and may or may not have interfered with the mayoral election once or twice. his original goal of wanting fame and popularity and recognition morphed into wanting power instead. eventually becomes Mr. Cards, master of games, sport and chance.
Mr. Cards, the Chiropteran Gamester (any pronouns)
Nathaniel, having been turned into a Master by Mr. Vials by using the Red Science. very flirty with both Oliver and Mr. Vials (at this point they're married to each other, but xe doesn't know this). Vials is very protective/possessive of Oliver so they unfortunately have a very strained relationship. eventually settles down with Mr. Wines, with a few other relationships on the side.
i have more OCs that aren't PCs though!! as of now, one is human and four are masters-- and one is a very buggy baby.
Oliver Pennwright, the Anxious Academic / Overwrought Assistant (he/him)
Oliver my beloved. a very nervous and eager-to-please medical student (age currently undetermined, at least 22y) at the university around the time Asher is a professor there, and ends up taking a few classes. becomes enthralled with said doctor and his teaching methods, striving to be the best of his students in order to gain his attention/recognition/praise. eventually Asher does notice Oliver's efforts as a student and his promise as both a person and a practitioner, and asks him to become his assistant. Oliver doesn't have the best home life or financial situation, having been born after the Fall. Asher of course takes pity on the young man and lets him live in the spare room above his lab. after living together for so long they become friends more than colleagues, and even family in a way. later, when Asher starts his transformation into Mr. Vials, he tells Oliver and only Oliver, who ends up staying by his side through it all. a few years after Vials has settled into his role as a new Master, he capitalizes on the feelings he's noticed between the two of them and proposes to Oliver. epithet pre-Vials is the Anxious Academic, epithet post-Vials is the Overwrought Assistant cause hes both overworked and over-eager to help Vials. and other connotations too ig xhxbx
Mr. Needles, the Silentious Seamstress (it/its)
part of the deal Asher struck with Mr. Veils before its death involved carrying its child and continuing its legacy. the child born would become Mr. Needles, Master of Tools and Textiles, though Veils wouldn't live to see it. in its absence, Oliver helped raise it alongside Mr. Vials, of course. usually mute or just very quiet or soft-spoken, as its epithet suggests. helps Vials and Oliver with Nathaniel's surgeries to become Mr. Cards. has a stronger interest in/relationship with Parabola than Vials does, and eventually meets Mr. Mirrors there. nature of their relationship still undetermined.
Mr. Carrion, the Bloodstained Scavenger (she/they/it)
from an au where Arthur and Asher (as Vials) are reunited, and Vials helps to un-SMEN/un-peckish his older brother. however, he needs Mr (H)apples' help to provide arthur with enough meat and/or chestnuts in the meantime. Happles, being the freak that it is, wants to have a child with Vials. Vials still has a bit of gender dysphoria/body dysmorphia and apprehension after giving birth to Needles, but Happles is more than happy to be the bearer rather than the sire to get what it wants. the resulting child is Mr. Carrion, the eventual master of Bones and Decay. she enjoys everything from preserved specimens and organs, bones (obviously), meat and flesh to birds (specifically corvids and vultures), mushrooms, worms, and taxidermy. if you see a vulture when you know they don't exist in the Neath then its their fault. they like vultures.
Felony Greystone (she/they/it)
Sting's (mostly) child, a human-moonmiser hybrid. Sting offers to take care of and look after the newborn when Clara cannot, and soon started to see it as if she were its own child of flesh and blood (which she was, partially). both their eyes are moon-silver, a bit lighter than Sting's natural eye color, and their chitin is a iridescent purple. in form she's more like a centipede with a scorpion tail to match their parent (even if Sting's technically a snake biologically moreso than a scorpion). in AUs where she doesn't live on the Neath-roof as another false star, Felony lives with Sting and Edward as their kid and follows in Sting's revolutionary tendencies, becoming quite the rebel as a teenager.
Reign Greystone (they/them)
biological child of Sting and Edward via... Parabolan means. about 1/3 Fingerking, had to be raised in Parabola for a decent chunk of their childhood. takes moreso after Edward in dress and personality (especially when compared to Felony), and will eventually become a Correspondent.
Mr. Plushies, the Velutinous Toymaker (he/they/it)
the world's fluffiest bat. a human toymaker that eventually turned into a curator, but specifics tbd. theyre very kind for a curator, and their hoard/trade is toys, but especially plushies, as their epithet suggests. they make everything themselves! they love making people smile, especially the orphans and other children and unfortunates of london. a caretaker/older sibling figure to Mr. Transport, and friends with Oliver.
Mr. Cables, the Anachronistic Electrician (he/they/it)
a devil-turned-master hailing from the late (19)30s, Cables' trade and hoard govern electricity and electronics, television, radio, other 'broadcasted' entertainment, all sorts of cables and wires, and rubber. tent-making bat. other info tbd, he's the newest of them all.
