Starfire during Apartheid in South Africa.
This Teen Titans Go! Movie post credit scene may or may not have just announced the comeback of the original Teen Titans cartoon.
Please
What clothing stores do you think Kori would shop at? (Like Forever 21 etc.), also what style do you think she'd gravitate to most? (Girly, edgy, etc.) Personally I think she'd be a fashion chameleon like Rihanna. Also do you think she'd use social media, and would she be instafamous? I think she would have at least a million followers idk lol. Lastly what genre of music do you think she'd listen to the most and what artists? Love your blog SO much!! 💜
Sorry for the superlate reply lol. i’ll see if I can get through some of these old asks I’ve been neglecting!
1. I’m not much of a fashionista to be honest so I can’t give you specific answers regarding shops.
2. Kori is from another planet, and her job here is to be a model, so she’d be trying on all sorts of clothes for her job anyway, but from what we’ve seen in the comics I think you can definitely see a style trend. Broadly speaking she likes light, colourful clothing that often (but not always) shows a lot of skin. Generally what we’d consider “summery”, and her style is broadly traditionally feminine, to modern western eyes. She’s uses jewellery but isn’t heavy on it. She rarely ties her hair in any way.
It’s also worth noting that she generally doesn’t dress “revealingly” to be “sexy” but just comes from a world were nudity and covering-up is both normal and actually important to proper functioning (Tamaraneans need sunlight, specifically UV light remember). Not that she doesn’t ever consider trying to be sexy, she has expressed that she likes that people find her attractive, and given her relationship (namely with Dick) I’m sure she’s happy to take her partner into consideration too at times.
3. Although it obviously wasn’t a thing in the 80’s I’m sure a modern version of Starfire would be on social media. It’s just something that’s practically a necessity for a model nowadays. I can’t imagine her spending a lot of time interacting with other users (given the hero work etc) but I’m sure she’d generally be really nice when she did interact, and would largely ignore trolls, but wouldn’t be beyond saying something polite yet scathingly savage to them every now and them. Kori was a literal slave for many years, where verbal abuse was probably considered a “good day”, and raised as a monarch in a technologically advanced society before that. I’m sure Tamaran would have it’s equivalent of the internet, and Royalty on that planet would be raised to deal with what that means. She’d have very thick skin for that sort of thing, it’s generally only people she knows and is close to who can hurt her in that way really.
And yeah, and she’d definitely be instafamous. She’s a ALIEN FROM ANOTHER PLANET (that alone is super interesting seriously), an already fairly famous superhero, a model widely regarded as extremely attractive, and a really nice person. Then add in rumours that she’s dating Bruce Wayne’s ward? Those things would go very far in the internet.
I will say that I do think Cartoon Starfire would probably be much more susceptible to online abuse. It might have made an interesting story thread in a modern version of the cartoon.
4. Music is a tough one. I have far from read everything Starfire’s in but I’m not aware of descriptions of Tamaranean music to try and get a clue about her history regarding music. It’s possible she’d want to focus on something different though (depends what point in her story we’re talking about) or would gravitate to it if she’s feeling more homesick. But my general answer would be emotive music. Lot’s of lyrics about love and passion, but also sadness and struggle (I’m sure she would like lyricless music, so long as it’s expressive). Starfire has been show to dance several times and she seems to like it a lot, so things with a beat and energy too would be a solid pick for her. I think a lot of Latin American music would fit the bill, as passionate themes are generally more common there (form what I can tell) but I think she’d enjoy variety. I think she’d like a lot of analogue music and live music especially, since it has more of a grounded “real” feel and live music has those little quirks and variations from being technically perfect that I think she would delight in. And because she’s a very expressive and emotive person I find myself thinking she could also like more aggressive music like metal, though I don’t see it being her go-to. Honestly I can see her liking a lot. I know that’s not a very specific answer at all, but I think the broad strokes of what I said would be right.
Thanks very much for the love and for your ask! :) <3
I love her Odyssey costume so much. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorites
starfire used to kill people can everyone get over it
Starfire was trained to fight and think like a warrior, not a police officer.
After arriving on Earth, the friction that her readiness to kill created with the other Titans was a running issue in the comics and helped make some great drama.

I’m still hearing conflicting messages as to whether this will be her official “super suit” but honestly I hope not.
Why did they make Starfire’s power orange instead of green
Wh
Why
Why would they do it
Starfire debuted in 1980, in The New Teen Titans, in which she was depicted with yellow, orange, red, and magenta starbolts. The only reason her starbolts have been green in recent comics is due to the influence of the cartoon, in which they changed her starbolt color to match her eyes.
So, in short, orange starbolts are super accurate to the original comics and all comic depictions of her leading up to 2011.

“ROBIN is the first character we are introduced to. At this stage in his life, decades after the Flying Grayson Incident, Dick Grayson is in a terrible place. It’s not the Robin many of you are accustomed to. He doesn’t work with Batman anymore after growing to hate him and leaving Gotham for San Francisco. He’ll sometimes see a shadow of Batman, only to turn around and realize it’s his own. He’s afraid of becoming like Bruce. Nevertheless, he still wears the Robin suit instead of a Nightwing costume (which would make much more sense). In this iteration of the character, Grayson has taken up the career of being a Detective on the police force. We are introduced to some of the series’ side characters like Detective Rohrbach and Wolf, and we also notice Grayson’s plain apathy towards them. See, Robin doesn’t work with people anymore. After what Batman did to him, he’s shut himself off from any relationships, absorbing himself in his work. It’s an exciting choice for the character, and his development throughout the season will be one of its central pillars. We also get a glimpse into the action of the show, which looks to be phenomenal.”
“STARFIRE. She is probably the most intriguing character in the pilot episode, introduced in an enthrallingly enigmatic fashion. When we first meet her, Starfire is in smack in the middle of a car crash, her driver is embedded in the bloodied windshield, and armed men are chasing her for a reason unknown to us. Also, I think this is a good time to mention her outfit and appearance, as the recent set photos have caused some controversy amongst fans. Starfire is introduced to us the night after a DISCO PARTY. The reason she looks like someone out of a 1970s club is that she was at one. Her dress and hairstyle aren’t part of her usual look. So, everyone needs to relax a bit and wait for the official image. Okay… back to the story. On the escape, Starfire finds out she has multiple passports and can speak multiple languages— the identity of this woman is an absolute mystery. Some more events transpire (which I won’t divulge into for spoiler’s sake), and she is propelled on a mission that will sow the seeds for TITANS.We are chronologically reaching the end of the pilot, so the following will be very vague to avoid ruining some of the best moments of the episode. Towards the end, the culmination of the previous 50 minutes takes a head. There’s spectacle, violence, and mystery that acts as both a satisfying finish for the episode and a definite beginning for the rest of the show. The absolute greatest, the most jaw-dropping moment of the pilot happens here, and it’s so good. But you’ll have to see the episode yourself to find out what it is…”

Blue Beetle gets kidnapped, so the remaining Titans (and weapons-grade doofus Booster Gold) go to space to rescue him.
Nice alternate costume on Starfire, also they seem to have included her cartoon eyebrows in this for some reason, but somehow I’m actually on board with that in this comic.
