will u tell us more about the current character youre animating? tim i believe? he looks interesting!
Hehe, this is me when someone makes the mistake of asking. I just love developing stories and characters, but I donāt have too many people to talk with about them.
I actually have Timās story around 90% thought up. (Been writing the script like 200 pages already. The comic Iāve sketched maybe 50 pages.) Itās pretty complex story and I donāt want to spoil any good parts of it, in case Iām able to write/draw it out someday. Itās way too long to animate by myself, but Iād possibly be able to make a trailer of it, at least! That would be so much fun to do!!
The beginning of the story I can share with no problem, though! Itās a bit long explanation, so I donāt mind if people arenāt interested in reading it.
The setting of the story is a bit scifi-like future in a super wide metropolis, with all the cool gadgets, flying machines and - of course - robots. (Did I mention I like robots?) Timās story begins when heās saved from a burning warehouse. A mysterious homeless boy with no family, no past, and almost no future. The rescue robots (of course there are rescue robots in futuristic scifi city, duh!) donāt calculate his survival changes worth even trying, and leave him behind. An old sceptic fire fighter, however, doesnāt believe the computer stats about the survivors. He enters the building on his own, finding and saving the poor boy.Ā
After being saved, Tim lives with the fire fighter, but the heroic old man canāt change his careless attitude of rescuing people all by himself, so he tragically passes away several years later. Tim is left in a small foster home, because, well, who would like to have a little burned homeless boy for their burden. For the obvious reason Tim wears a mask and covers himself from tip to toe. Heās also ultimately scared of all kinds of robots. (they left him to BURN after all!) In the world where robots do everything, and every middle class family can afford at least one in the household, his daily life isnāt the easiest one
The actual story starts while Tim is in the final year of junior high, so heās around 15 years old, altough no-one knows his age for sure (neither does he). His life isnāt that miserable: He got two best friends whose family is considering him like their own child, heās almost done with the school, and the foster home is not a bad place to live (no money for robots!), altough the staff there gives the word āstrictā a whole new meaning. Tim is not a scaredy cat, but he gets suprised pretty easily. Heās also really bad at lying, and normally his friends can see through his lies despite of his masked poker face.
So this is the setting! The fun begins when their class makes an unfortunate learning trip to the center of the city. Theyāre taking a tour in the company making the robots (you can guess Tim tries to call himself sick for the day), and providing safe nuclear-like energy. After even wider series of unfortunate events, the three teens find themselves in the middle of the race for the ULTIMATE POWER, revealing Timās past, and SAVING THE WORLD - well, at least the city. Propably.
And when can you read this all? Not in the near future, Iām afraid, but Iāll be sketching it at my own pace and propably itāll someday be ready to be uploaded on the net!! The animations will be here anyways!!
I ALSO want to point out that all those animations Iāve made of him are included in the story! The whole Timtale was originally a personal project to study animation, and I think Iāve really achieved that goal! ā„
