I was fooled

I almost got fooled, well actually i was fooled. There’s this someone who confessed to me na crush daw niya ako and so on, kung ano anong flattery words pa ang sinasabi niya through chat. The good thing is, he’s not my type. Years ago I made a list of checklist that i like in a guy and doon pa lang sa first four wala na siya eh. Well anyway since he’s not my type, no damage done. Kaya lang naniwala ako sa mga pinagsasabi niya, kasi i feel guilty when i told him na wala, hindi ko siya gusto, as in super guilty ako. Young people nowadays are too emotional, kaya kung ano ano ang pumasok sa isip ko that time, i got worried. Bata pa kasi so i felt that im responsible for his emotion and his feeling, kaya pinagpray ko pa siya na maging ok siya. Then i find out meron pala siyang girlfriend sa province. Naloka ako, kung sakasakali gagawin pa niya akong third party and a relationship wrecker, naawa din ako sa girlfriend niya, kasi i was thinking pano if nalaman ng girlfriend niya ang ginawa niya, im sure she will get hurt and feel betrayed, kasi if ako yun masaktan talaga ako. Napasip lang din ako since hobby ko na ang mag analyze and indulge in deep thoughts, two things run inside my head. First, bakit ako pa ang napili niyang lokohin or igood time, dahil ba mukha akong madaling mauto, am i that naive or mukha ba akong engeng??? nakakaoffend ah. Secondly, pano na lang if naging gusto ko din siya, then my heart would end up broken, shattered into pieces, hayy grabe katakot, muntikan na yung heart ko. Super thankful ako kasi on my case hindi ko gusto si guy, so my heart was spared from all the unnecessary pain. Lesson learn for me that if ever things like that happen again in the future, i should be extra careful as in super careful at huwag basta basta maniwala. No problem if you don’t like the guy but ang nakakatakot kasi doon is pano if type mo din yung guy, kaya huwag magpapadala sa feelings and emotions and always pray to God first, seek His guidance and ask for discernment regarding heart matter. Actually not only in heart matter but in everything, we should always ask for God’s guidance, direction and discernment para hindi tayo napapahamak. - rj

My Confusing Thoughts Between Grace and Legalism

Im currently reading the book "what's so amazing about grace?", and honestly the book confuses me more than it makes me understand grace. (Well i think it's early to tell since i haven't finish the book yet but in case that book still left me confuse even after finishing it then i guess i just have to read it again in the future). The opposite of grace is legalism, and we as a christian should avoid being legalistic. My question, problem is how would you rebuke someone who sin? When you rebuke someone because of sin, they will tell you that you're being legalistic, you are exhibiting ungrace instead of grace. When you rebuke, you become legalistic, while extending too much grace may in my opinion lead to tolerance of sin (just an opinion, it may not be right, so feel free to correct me). Sugarcoating God's word (just so it can be pleasing to one's ear and would not cause people to feel bad) is i think not good, and i think we should not attempt to sugarcoat the word of God (or perhaps im wrong? i don't know). Truth is our moral society is decaying. People are reinventing things to twist the truth, to make the wrong and bad things look goods and right, and they did that because of their so called "rights" and "freedom". No rebuke is pleasant to the ear. The Bible tells us "Better an open rebuke than hidden love." So how would you rebuke without sounding legalistic and at the same time dispensing grace and showing Christ's love??? -rj

Does love lessen, diminish, or get lost over time??? a big NO. True love is more than a feeling. Love is a choice, it is a commitment. A lifelong commitment. In love you commit everyday, every hour, every minute, every seconds, milliseconds to choose to love even if the person is unlovable, even if the person is annoying, even if the person is irritating, even if the person gets to your nerve. True Love is a commitment to choose to love. Love covers over a multitude of sins. -rj

The One Sided Crush III

Lately I been thinking about my crush more often because of this Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). This ECQ was so far the longest vacation i had since i started working. As of today i'd already finished watching crash landing on you, sassy girl, well intended love season one and two, lucky's first love, secret, le coup de foudre and currently im watching the king eternal monarch which is still on going, i finished watching the four episodes and im waiting for the release of the next episode. Im also currently reading Philip Yancey's book what's so amazing about grace?. During the first few weeks of the ECQ i'd already finished some of my pending work that i brought home (we're not in a "work from home" setting, it's just that we're in the middle of the busy season/tax season when this ECQ was imposed and i had a lot of pending work to do, actually even before this ECQ thing started i had been bringing home some work to lessen yung tambak ko. On our last day of work i brought home some of my pending, so that when we resume to work after this ECQ there will be no more pending on my part). Since i had finished the the office work that i brought home, and there's no more interesting cdrama, kdrama to watch on netflix, my mind keeps on wandering about my crush, or is it because of too much kdrama, cdrama that i started to think about him again? Or is it because of boredom that i come to think about him more often? I would really like to add him on fb or follow him on instagram but im to shy to make the first move, hahaha. In order to see a picture of him i keep on searching him on google, fb, instagram but his profile in both fb and instagram were in private so there's nothing much to see. Well anyway i hope and pray that he's doing well and fine. -rj

My Blessings: An Inventory 2019 Edition

The 2019 edition of “My blessings: An Inventory”. Normally year end inventory is done during december or the 1st week of january, so this post about my 2019 inventory of blessing might be already late but since we’re on enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) because of Covid19, why not recount the blessing that i received last year to remind myself of God’s faithfulness in this time of uncertainties.

I thank God for His Love and Faithfulness to me (that’s already two things).

I thank God for my family, my relatives, my spiritual family, my officemates, my employers.

I thank God for my work.

I thank God for giving me the endurance through out that year especially during the tax season, overtime season.

I thank God for providing for us financially.

I thank God for good health to me and to my families.

I thank God for the times that we had the opportunities to eat outside to celebrate special occasions and also for all those milk tea that i drank.

I thank God for keeping us safe. There was one time in april while we were going to a client for meeting, we got into an accident along NLEX but super thank God that nothing serious happened, only the car was damaged and we were all safe and okay. They said that it’s good thing that there was no car behind us at that time because it could get serious if a car behind us would hit us.

I thank God for the opportunity to tour in hongkong, we went to ocean park and disneyland (dream come true talaga yung disneyland experience) my first time to went to foreign country. We had a scary experience during our flight back to manila, parang nasa rollercoaster kami, three times nag sway yung airplane, left, right then yung last parang babagsak siya. most of the passengers including me get scared. i remember nung pang third time yung feeling ko magcrash yung plane my mind shouted na “Lord God” hayyy thankfully God keeps us safe.

I thank God for the office Christmas party, simple lang but ng enjoyed naman ako. I got a powerbank for the raffle, cash prize and a lot more.

I thank God for the gifts that i received during the Christmas (from clients, employers, officemates, relatives, friends, family).

I thank God for our simple Christmas celebration at my grand ma’s home… we did the big elephant exchange gift, i got soap and a body wash.

I thank God for fighting my battles and for winning those battles for me.

I thank God that i started attending carecell again and had join answering the bible quiz/devotion that our church do.

I thank God for those people who are being patient with me, and ngtiyatiyaga sa akin.

I thank God because i saw my crush again (kahit pasulyap lang and one time lang that year… hahaha)

I thank God for my life and for never leaving me

I thank God for those small and unnoticed blessings that God showered upon me

I still had a lot to thank God for, actually there’s no way that I would be able to count all those blessings, especially those small things that i often overlook. So much thank you Abba Father for all the blessings, all the countless blessings that you showered upon me. - rj

The Dream, The Choices, The Result

Childhood Dream: To become a vendor 1st Choice: Accountancy 2nd Choice: Business Administration 3rd Choice: HRM 4th Choice: Behavioral Science Actual Course: Accountancy

My childhood dream was to become a vendor, whenever i was ask kung ano gusto ko paglaki i would answer gusto ko mgvendor. Gusto ko kasi dati magtinda ng mga candy and mga food na nasa bilao and gusto ko meron ako yung parang apron ng vendor where they put their money. During my 1st and 2nd year in high school wala ako maisip what course to take up in college but we made an agreement (the 4 of us) na ang 2nd choice namin would be Business Administration, so meron na akong 2nd choice but yung 1st choice ko is blank. I first learn about accounting during my 3rd year in high school, meron kami basic accounting under the THE subject and na enjoy ko naman siya, yung debit, credit, balance sheet, income statement. So finally my 1st choice na ako, accountancy. Then comes the 4th year, i only took 2 entrance exam, ust and psba. Original choice ko is accountancy, business ads and hrm pero sa ust ang accountancy and business ad is under one umbrella (commerce) so to fill up the 3rd choice ng behavioral science ako. Hindi ako nakapasa sa entrance exam, yung mga choices ko waiting list and for interview kaya ng entrance ako sa PSBA and don narin ako ng decide to study. And super thankful ako at doon ako sa PSBA ngaral. I survived the course and the board because of the help from my parents, relatives, tita awan (who had help us financially), teachers and professors, college friends (special mention to jes, super thankful ako kay God dahil nakilala ko siya, siya yung madalas kong kasama from 2nd year to 2 term papers from management class to review to the testing center), yung mga prayer warriors from bfgfc and mcdo bible study nila mama and yung sa ngbigay sakin ng wisdom, energy, and sa nag answered ng mga prayers ko, none other than my ABBA FATHER, the ALMIGHTY GOD. super thank you ako for the people who help me especially kay GOD. -rj

It’s the time of the year when overtime starts (ayan na yung time na pag araw araw na ang pasok, eh hindi mo na malaman kung anong araw na, madistinguish mo na lang ang sunday and holiday from any other day pag walang aircon sa office). It’s #taxseason #itrseason once again, this is what i dread after the new year break😨. Nandyan na ang pressure, yung mahihighblood ka (feeling mo yung dugo mo aabot na sa braincells mo, yung super boiling point na, feeling mo sasabog ka na), ayan na yung mgtransform ka na to incredibulk hulk dahil sa pressure. Andyan na naman yung sabay sabay na deadlines, the monthly deadlines, updating client’s book so we can generate and prepare the FS (that’s my problem dami ko pang backlog😭), tapos may first and second review pa ng FS, may audit pa, then pagsweswertehin ka pa, makareceive ka pa ng LOA from BIR. Nakisabay pa talaga ang BIR sa busy season diba??? (had that experience last year, grabe talaga!) Multitasking at it’s best. Hayyy minsan hindi na malaman kung ano uunahin eh. Tapos meron pang stress from unreasonable clients, hayyy kung hindi ka ba mabaliw 😵. Whenever i can’t contain the pressure and i get mad, i would go to the comfort room to vent all my anger and frustrations, and also inside that cubicle i would pour all my worries, my inis and my frustrations to God. Due to a lack of manpower, we would definitely face a super challenging, and difficult tax season this year and honestly i don’t know if kakayanin ko, ang hirap talaga. BUT… yes there’s a big BUT, BUT despite all those hardships and difficulties i am confident that we would be able to once again overcome this year tax season, we would be once again be a survivor of tax season because the GOD who had help us from the past is the same GOD who will help us this year. For the past ten tax seasons i had experience, from my first ever tax season to my tenth tax season God is always there to help me, to sustain me and give me wisdom. And this year, my eleventh would be no different, challenging it may be, but i know that GOD will help me, HE will help us through it. GOD is an unchanging GOD, HE is the same yesterday, today and forever. HE had help me for the past ten years and i believe that HE would do it again. kaya dapat i should refrain from worrying, HE ask “IS THE LORD ARM TOO SHORT?” of course not! a GREAT GOD got my back, a GREAT GOD is beside me, no need to worry. GOD never fails. 😊 -rj

Something inside of Me

The excuse (meeting with my high school classmate) that i made for not attending the Christmas party was only half truth. The real reason why i go home and did not attend the Christmas party was because im not comfortable attending parties, gatherings. Actually i was thinking of the Christmas party since last week, whether i will be attending or not. Most likely i decide to attend the Christmas party, as in 95% go ako kasi i don’t have any excuse for not going. But then last night when i texted my highschool friend on when can we meet so i can give to my inaanak my gifts, i was glad when she reply to me na “bukas”. parang yes meron na akong excuse for not being present sa Christmas party. Sorry if na disappoint kita kasi hindi ako nag attend ng Christmas party, and about the gift, actually there’s no need na for you to give me gift, kasi the time you spend/invest/share/nilaan mo for me is super enough gift na sa akin yun eh. Nahihiya na nga ako sayo, sometimes i feel like a burden narin, and im scared na what if walang ng change sa akin, parang nasayang ko lang yung time mo. Ako i really want to grow deeper with Jesus (kaya nga masaya ako when you offer carecell ulit eh) and to “bear fruit that will last” because i want to please Jesus, because i know that when i “bear fruit that will last” Jesus would be happy. I want to obey Jesus’ command to “Go and make disciples” but at the same time i feel pressured. Sabi nga sa preaching number doesn’t matter, it does not matter if you had a lot of ministry or the number of correct answer you get sa bible quiz/challenge or how many bible verse you memorize, what matter is whether you “bear fruit that will last”. Super pressured to bear fruit and at the same time scared din that nothing will change sa akin, na nasayang ko lang yung time that you invested on me. Sorry if na disappoint kita but i hope that you won’t give up on me (i know that’s too much and a self centered thing to ask, considering that there are a lot of lost sheep out there). I hope and I pray that someday isa na rin ako sa mga tao na ng invest ng time to others. i hope na nagagawa ko na din yung “Go and make disciples” Super thank you sa time na nilaan mo for me, sa carecell, sa pagcheck ng mga answer ko sa weekly bible challenge/quiz, super na appreciate ko talaga. Hindi ko lang kaya sabihin in person kasi nahihiya ako pero sobra maraming thank you talaga sayo. Super thank you ako kay God kasi siya yung may dahilan as to why ng start tayo uli ng carecell eh. Yes, there's POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS, months ago i had been in a constant struggle, and i hold on to the verse from 2 Chronicles 20:15 in which God is telling me that the battle is not mine but His. When i stumble upon this post on facebook, it's like God is reminding me that every battle i face is not mine alone to fight. im not alone in this battle, God is fighting on my behalf. Victory is surely mine (a privilege for us who are in Jesus Christ's family) because JESUS HAD OVERCOME. There's not a single battle that He lose, He always win. HE IS VICTORIOUS OVER ANY BATTLES. - cpa

God is love, God is patient, God is gracious, God is merciful, God is faithful. I can't count the number of times that i failed and disappointed God, the countless promises that i didn't keep, the times that i disobeyed God and did not listen to that small still voice, the convinction of the Holy Spirit but God remains who He is. He's been so patient and gracious with me. God remains faithful and not one of His promises failed even when i failed to keep my promises. God still loves me, a shameful sinner. God's grace, His unfailing love, His forgiveness are not a license for me to keep on sinning. If i were to treat it as a license for me to sin, it's like i was saying "well i'll keep doing this and that and i will just ask for God's forgivess, anyway God loves me and He will surely forgive me". Having that kind of mindset only shows that i do not fully understand the weight of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. As a Christian i should not and should never ever treated Jesus sacrifice, His work on the cross in vain, rather as Christ's follower i should treat Christ's sacrifice with utmost reverence. i accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and i belong to Christ, since i belong to Christ i no longer a slave to sin, i don't have an obligation to do what my sinful nature dictates. Struggling, yes, but the battle is not mine but God's. JESUS BREAKS THE CHAINS OF SIN, HE HAS OVERCOME IT, HE IS VICTORIOUS OVER IT. I BELONG TO JESUS CHRIST, I BELONG IN JESUS' CAMP, I BELONG IN JESUS' FAMILY SO IT MEANS THAT VICTORY OVER SIN IS MINE TOO. WHERE OH DEATH IS YOUR STING? - cpa

It's more than just a sign... God is really is amazing!

Talk about being amazing… God is super amazing, the way He orchestrate things, there is no word to describe how amazing GOD is. i had this question about certain passages from the book of Hebrew. i was planning to ask a churchmate about it last sunday but i didn’t saw her, so today before the service starts i got the chance to ask her about it.. she explain it to me and after answering my question, she revealed that she was praying for me. she said just last night she was praying for me that if i ask question she would offer me a discipleship carecell again. while she was telling me that story i can see the amazement in her… and i too was full of amazement… i can’t explain or what words to use to tell how i was super amaze by God. For her it might be a sign, for me it was more than just a sign, it’s like God is telling me that He is thinking of me that He loves and cares for me so He’s sending someone to guide me. In just that simple question, God reminds me of how much He loves me. i was just merely asking something that confuses me and God makes things clear to me through her. i got an answer and there’s an added bonus a carecell offer. i immediately say yes to the offer (ako pa ba ang tatanggi eh si God na nga ng orchestrate ng things for that to happen eh). Out of His millions of children here on earth, He still cares for such a wretch like me. This past months i had a continuing struggles againts sin and thoughts that my braincells were entertaining, and i really need that carecell.. Even though i was not praying for carecell in particular God knows that i needed it. Grabe talaga at that moment feel na feel ko how much JESUS LOVES AND CARES FOR ME - rj

the more i think of it… he’s more of an introvert than extrovert.. so we had at least one similarities… and also im beginning to like adventures… especially trekking... i was not able to finish the trek the first time that i tried it.. i give up when i was almost there, according to the guide, just a little bit more and will reach the top but my body can't take it any longer, feel dizzy and my foot is aching (wear a wrong footwear) but i hope next time i’ll have the endurance to finish it to the end.☺

this was the view where i stop... beautiful isn't it??? but the view at the top were more beautiful compare to this.. i miss the chance of seeing it because i gave up... so lesson learn never give up, the best is yet to come.. especially pag kasama mo si JESUS the best is really yet to come - rj

Still can’t get over with the disneyland experience… that tour was almost perfect. “almost” because there’s this someone who in someway had spoiled that event because of his epal attitude (actually palagi na lang siyang ganon). At first i was okay.. yung bang bahala ka dyan basta mag eenjoy ako but at the end of that disneyland tour medyo naiinis na rin ako sa kanya and siguro sa pagod na rin kaya naging grrr mode ako.. i know im wrong for getting annoyed but a lesson learn for me to not let anyone ruin your happy moment. So next time i will never allowed those kind of people to have any permission to ruin my happiness by not letting them get into my patience (sana magawa ko). Letting that aside, overall experience was super 👍👍👍. Super saya and enjoy, sobra salamat ulit kay ma'am ecp for the treat… and super grateful to God for the opportunity… It’s a dream come true talaga for me to go to disneyland.. and im not only thanking God for the disneyland experience.. i also thank Him because He answered all my prayers regarding that hk company tour… as in every detail na pinagpray ko tinupad niya even to the smallest detail lang na wag magalburoto stomach 😁😂🤣 ko for that 3 days 2 night stay tinupad niya. i felt na super spoil talaga ako kay God. -rj

How did I Survived this year tax season?

I thought last year tax season was the most stressful one but i I was wrong. Last year was only the start of a very stressful and challenging tax season ahead for me and I guess it will go on year after year unless the company will hire a new accountant and that accountant would stay or unless I decided to resign (which I think is not possible for now). In the mid 2016 I think more or less three bookkeepers resigned, and because of that additional clients were assigned to us (to us who were left). Because of the shortage in bookkeeper/accountant, the workload of two accountant was now being handle by one but thankfully someone applied and was hired. She had help me, and in fact she did most of the FS of the clients that were added to me. I think I only did 3 to 4 FS of the additional clients assign to me, in addition to my original clients. She resigned last year and now Im all alone to do all the work. It was really so stressful, in additions to our in house clients, we still have to do audit field work. I really don’t know how would I survived it, I got so worried that I cried out to God several times during prayer. There was even a times that I was overwhelm with too much work that I went to the wash room and cried out to God to help me. During one of those prayer times before I retire to bed God answered me through my reading “Is the Lord arm too short?” and that calms my panicking heart and mind, and the following sunday the message was the same even the worship songs we sang tells of the same message. GOD is faithful, God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow He had help during the past tax season and He will DO IT AGAIN, and that give me peace. As of today seven clients left… tax season is not yet over but in two weeks time it will be. And I know that i will be able to survived it because a Great and Awesome God got my back. Ahhhhhhhh LORD GOD so much thanks for all the help without you I don’t know how will I survived this year tax season.. SO MUCH THANK YOU TALAGA ABBA FATHER!🙏 -rj

Rantings about CPD units for license renewal

Had work hard for years just to get you but It's just so sad to think that in the end I might have to let you go.... because clinging on you would cost me so much... me to my license. For those CPA who are employed, I don't know if you would agree with me. But for me, my license serves as a valid ID only. We cannot render an opinion in the financial statements (FS) by having a CPA license alone... We have to be accredited in order for us to do that. And CPD units are required for accreditation. So then why is there a need to implement that CPD units for CPA license renewal when it's also required for accreditation??? For those who are not aware, the renewal of license is different from being accredited. For those CPA who wants to practice their profession in public practice sector, license alone is not enough, they have to apply for accreditation and as I mention CPD units are required for accreditation. I have nothing against the continuing education for professionals, actually it's a good thing for all the professionals to further develop, educate and upadate themselves but to required that for renewing the license... is too much. Its too expensive especially for CPA who have to earn 120 units of CPD... more or less we have to spend around thirty thousands for seminars not to mention the salary deduction we get if we take a leave just to attend the seminars. Imagine hindi mo naman siya na gamit para kumita ng extra and yet kialangan mo pang gumastos ng malaki para lang magrenew. Company are employing accountants whether board passer or not. But why does the burden for the CPD falls only to license holder??? -rj
