happy pride month for it/its users, polyamorous people, xenogenders, non-transitioning trans people, and other "weird" identities. btw
“Media can be factually made with a child/family audience in mind” and “media for children/family audiences can be well made and engaging pieces of art” and “if you are an adult you should have a more diverse media diet than what exists to target an audience of primary middle and grade schoolers” and “it’s okay to watch a cartoon as an adult and enjoy it” can coexist.

I was thinking about this post and stitchwork and Siffrin's cloak. I've been rolling around the idea in my head of their home having alot of cultural significance when it comes to stitchwork -- the symbols, patterns, etc. And how some of that stitchwork can probably still be found, even if people don't remember where it came from or its significance.
And it led me to thinking of a scene maybe a couple years post-canon, and the party learns that this stitchwork comes from the Forgotten Country (and by now Loop has joined). Isabeau might think he's doing something nice, looking at patterns and choosing one he thinks Loop would like and makes them a new cloak with that pattern. Only to be met with Siffrin and Loop being upset but maybe not knowing exactly why, only that while Isabeau was trying to do something nice, the pattern and how he sewed it into the cloak is all wrong.
It could be an interesting clash, especially if this happens after Siffrin being able to share his grievances about the others dismissing them whenever he talked about the stars.
i think avoidance is such a little-recognized ocd compulsion. all the time i talk to people with ocd who are like "i was always having intrusive thoughts about using kitchen knives and harming myself or others but i'm okay now because i just stopped using knives ever 👍 so i'm good now"
and i'm like unfortunately i have bad news.
when we "lose" a cis butch woman because he becomes a trans man or masc you should actually say such things as yay, yippee, or hooray.
i identified as a butch for a bit! I changed my mind because in my case it was me trying to avoid wanting to be something I wasn't sure I COULD be! did you "lose" something when I, a trans woman, decided to present more femme?
if every cis butch woman in the world became a trans man right now, that would be an unambiguously, inarguably good and positive thing, because that would be people choosing to live the lives they wanted as the kinds of people they wanted to be, end of statement. personal autonomy isn't something to bitch over!
being anti-amatonormativity in a romance centered world is like watching half the people you know put all their eggs in one basket and then drop the basket and all their eggs break and they’re crying and swearing they’re never gonna do that again and then a month later they have all new eggs in a new basket and they tell you the problem was they didn’t have a strong enough basket or fresh enough eggs and then they drop the fucking basket again.
huge fan of when characters love each other and are closely bonded in an explicitly nonromantic way. however ☝️ i am very much not a huge fan of what happens when characters like this are introduced to fandom
people hated my other post about this but idc it needs to be said, but in your obsession with making platonic relationships into romance there is very much a loss of the depth that actually makes the original relationship interesting. and i feel like this is in part due to the idea of a relationship hierarchy and romance being "more than just friends" framing it as something added on top of an already existing relationship making it somehow inherently deeper and more meaningful, when in actuality romantic relationships and platonic relationships are just different relationships of equal importance with no difference in depth or meaning. romantic relationships can be shallow and fleeting or deep and lifelong and so can platonic ones. neither one is more important or better than the other and they aren't interchangeable either. if you change the relationship you are inherently altering the character dynamic and this is often not a good thing
