The arrest of William Oakes, brother of Oliver Oakes, has not only rocked the paddock, but has also put the spotlight back on Hitech Grand Prix and its links to Dmitry Mazepin.
The real unresolved issue would be the change of ownership of the team, which occurred in March 2022, at a crucial moment from a geopolitical point of view. Until nine days before the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Hitech was controlled at 75% by Bergton Management Ltd, a company based in Cyprus with ties to Mazepin.
Three days after Mazepin and his son Nikita were hit by the sanctions, it was Oliver Oakes who set up a new entity, Hitech Global Holdings Ltd, through which he formally assumed control of the team.
The sporting "feud" between Jack Doohan and Franco Colapinto, in fact, would only be the latest "symptom" of a deeper tension, linked to Oakes' failed attempt to bring the Hitech name to Formula 1 with the financial support, far from transparent, of the Mazepin family.
Part of the capital used to support the team's expansion projects - including the interest in purchasing Alpine - would come, as told to you this evening, from funds transferred by the Mazepin family through a front company based in Cyprus. A scheme that would have circumvented the sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United Kingdom on the Mazepin family with the outbreak of the war.
Oliver Oakes himself would have been at the center of this operation: not only as a formal beneficiary of the Hitech shares sold by Bergton Management Ltd in March 2022, but also as a possible intermediary for still active interests.
The failure to officially enter Formula 1 through Hitech - stopped by the FIA - would have pushed Oakes to look for a new path, aiming for an internal climb at Alpine.
The puzzle is completed with other disturbing details: Doohan and Paul Aron - would have followed Oakes within the Alpine team, together with numerous engineers and technicians. Colapinto, on the contrary, would have been a foreign body to the system, introduced by Flavio Briatore and supported by sponsors deemed "inconvenient" for the internal balance.
The recent arrest of William Oakes therefore appears to be the (temporary) epilogue of a house of cards built on unstable foundations. Cash, offshore corporate structures and an escape to Dubai complete the portrait of an ambitious and dangerously exposed project.
The most absurd thing about this whole situation is that Flavio Briatore does not seem to be involved in this whole mess at the moment.

What evidence is there that she actually groomed him? theres a lot of evidence if you look in the right places for it and too much to specify here.
Did she have any power over him? age is enough to be enough power over him. she got into this relationship and slowly became an authoritative role in clips (yes, we have to look at clips here, we are outsiders looking in) such as her wagging her finger at him in one of his docu-series at him saying he wants to "get fat" and "eat whatever he wants". she does have some power over him.
Did he depend on her at any point? we can't confirm that he depends on her in many areas in their relationship other than what has been stated such as holidays or vacations he looks to her to guide and figure that out for him. he stated about christmas or his birthday that if she didnt plan these things he'd do nothing, so she invites who she wants and decides where they go. the current apartment they live in kelly most-likely had control of how it was decorated and how much was spent.
Was she is in his life a long time and have influence on him? she has been in his life since before he was 23. 17 is the earliest age that we know of publically but one of her siblings had been friends with him first before they connected kelly to max.

She is the one WAG I've categorically refused to discuss on here. I think the internet can get into its witchhunts, but I also this she's just not a particularly nice person and everything I've seen regarding her has multiple reliable sources. Also every person that I know who has interacted with her say she's very full of herself and believes she's somehow superior to most, typical nepo baby crap I suppose. I would have more respect for her if she admitted any of her flaws and apologised, instead she doubles down into making herself the victim when in fact things like pursuing a seventeen y/o when you're twenty six is..simply not normal.
Max is entitled to choose his partner, true, but I think it's also important to say that considering his upbringing I think he made quite an easy victim, and I believe he continues to be a victim. I think it's a conversation that requires some degree of nuance, which I don't really think the internet is capable of much nowadays. People can have agency and still be a victim, and I think it's important to point that out just so people in similar situations realise that being 22 and having your 31 y/o girlfriend and baby move in with you very soon into dating is NOT normal. I just always think that if Max and Kelly's genders were swapped, and it was a 17 y/o girl and a 26 y/o man or 22 y/o woman and a 31 y/o man with a baby there would be outrage.
I mainly just watch from the sidelines, little upset. We don't know much about the inner goings on of their relationship, but a lot of the front facing stuff I see makes me uneasy. I think having trusted others outside of a relationship is very important, and I just hope that Max does indeed have that support system.
