Think about how when crisis hit and the skies were turning blood red, the night itself was dying. Nocturna wanted to die with it, almost getting herself killed until jason rushed into save her, getting hurt in the process. Her then protecting him from getting hurt any further, getting stabbed in chest multiples time in the process and bleeding out until jason was able to get her into her hot air balloon so that it could take her to safety. Only for the hot air balloon to get caught into the storms of the world falling apart due to crisis, with jason not knowing if his mother survived the storm or if she died like her beautiful night did.
