Finally watched the Tomb Raider movie and I was surprised. I actually liked it. One complaint I have for the movie though is that the setting (Yamatai) is very boring looking compared to the Yamatai in the game. When the setting isn’t covered by trees, it’s covered by sand. The Yamatai in the game had multiple ruins and tombs, so to see Yamatai translated to a smaller island with one tomb in the movie was disheartening to say the least. The only cool-looking setting in this movie is Himiko’s tomb and that’s near the end of the movie. Kinda just wish they would’ve stuck to the Yamatai in the game.
