Coming apart at the seams (AU) [Part 2]
His voice was gruff and harsh, He extended a fist with a lighter tucked in his fingers. The man flicked his thumb and a small flame shot out. James dipped his cigarette in the flame and rolled it between his teeth til the end was one consistent color. The figure dropped the lighter in his pocket and connected his hands in his hoodie pocket. He pulled his head away and took a few fast drags of the cigarette, His fingers pinched the filter and he looked over to the man. “Aren’t you dead?" The smoke poured from his mouth as he spoke. “You could say that." A grin spread across his face, “Who are you!" The soldier’s brow turned inward and he gritted his teeth, “I watched them bury you!" The man reached up and grabbed his hood and ripped it down, his blonde hair reflected the light that leaked through a small crack between the walls of the alley. Rebel grinned and slowly took his sunglasses off, “Yeah they did, didn’t they? Shit … That must have been six years ago." "So, why me? What do you get from ‘haunting’ me?" James smirked and took a short drag off of his cigarette. “I’m no ghost, I’m very much alive. And as to the question of why I’m here, I’m here to kill the traitor." Rebel looked down and fold his sunglasses and tucked them in his pocket. “Well, What are you waiting for?" James asked with a shrug and another puff. The blonde took a few steps around James and smiled, “Oh, Bucky. Where’s the fun in that? No. I have plans for you, I’m going to make you suffer." He continued his walk around James, then he turned towards the street and began to head for a crowd of people that flooded the sidewalk. The soldier hadn’t noticed Rebel drifting towards the street, until he looked up and the blonde throw his hood on, taking a few more steps and vanishing in the the crowd. James threw the cigarette down and chased after him, “Hey! Where the fuck do you think you’re going?" Echoed through the alley as he sprinted into the crowd of people, feverishly shoving people out of his way until he could spot Rebel. As he neared the corner of the street, He spotted a hood bobbing over the crowd. James had found him, “Hey! Get back here!" He screamed as he neared the man, the soldier reached out and grabbed the man’s hood. He used the grip to pull him close and take the hood off, reveling a terrified younger man. James’ face dropped and he let go of the man, “I’m sorry, I thought you were someone else." He turned and made his way back through the crowd, “How the fuck did I lose him, He couldn’t have gotten that far" was his only thought as he made his way home.
