A little rant about Jax in ep9

(For this post I'll use she/her for Jax)

(I've taken out the cut since the finale is now on YT)

I don't understand why some people don't want to accept that Jax is transfem/a trans woman? I believe the word "implied" is being misused when saying that it was only implied, because how more obvious do you want it to be??

Jax had "a big secret" related to "his masculinity" in her human form and when it was told it wasn't well recieved by her mother

Ribbit understands Jax well enough to realise what she meant and so she places her bow on Jax's ear as a form of showing her empathy and acceptance making Jax blush after being exposed but feeling understood

Jax then hears Kaufmo at the door and panicks and blames Ribbit for being "verbally pushing" and goes on to ignore her until she abstracts because of the shame she feels after someone found out about her being closeted trans

And the literal montage Jax has with "Isn't she lovely?" symbolising her last moments being it a sort of an acceptance about herself since Pomni now knows too and isn't bothered by it (and because now that she abstracted there isn't much reason to still hide)

I've seen people say that Jax blushed in the bow scene because of multiple other reasons just to not accept her being trans: because of Ribbit, because Jax was a feminine man, a man with fragile masculinity, a gay man, etc.

And I am all for ships and stuff but Jax did not blush next to Ribbit because she liked her guys, come on

Honestly I like the idea of post epilogue/university confident Will × loser Mike

Like Will is out and about living his life to its full potential being unapologetically himself in an art uni and Mike is stuck in his basement all day writing fantasy stuff as escapism with huge eyebags (although canon Mike does go to uni after hs)

AND THEN Mike finally gets out of his house and goes to a uni party with Will and they make out and he freaks out but after some inner angst he realises who he is and gets his shit together but he still dresses for a while like a preppy nerd and Will kinda digs it but he won't say it

Queer songs in ST5

Something that I truly cannot comprehend is why they would buy the rights to various songs known to be labeled as queer anthems (or associated with the community) and then use them in the most mundane ways possible.

(Let's remember that ST was the first ever show to be able to have Purple Rain in its soundtrack)

By this I'm talking about songs like Upside Down for S5E1, I think we're alone now being used for Holly's dancing scene, Heroes simply being played in the credits and Purple Rain being used for the void scene (🫩).

In the official WSQK album there are also songs that weren't even used in the show itself that are often associated with the lgbt+ community like Bicycle Race by Queen.

And then there are songs (verbally mentioned) like Human Cannonball by The Butthole Surfers...do I need to say more?

I understand that these are all popular 80s songs, but it feels maybe a bit too coincidential to have them all be a part of ST5, or at least that is what I thought when watching it 😔.
