THE LITTLE MERMAID (2023) dir. Rob Marshall
oh jon. it will be so over for you the second you are shown just a little bit of gentle kindnessā¦im sorry to say but your ass is grass. your mommysister issues my brother!
"Beth, you shouldn't make up stories," Sansa corrected the younger girl, gently stroking her hair to take theĀ harshness out of her words.
Lady bared her teeth and began to growl, a low rumble full of menace, but this time Sansa silenced the wolf with aĀ gentleĀ hand to the head.
Tenderly she reached out and brushed back his soft blond hair.
"My poor Sweetrobin." SansaĀ smoothed his hair back.
She sat on the bed andĀ smoothed his long, fine hair. He does have pretty hair.
"No. I want to marry you, Alayne." Once your lady mother intended that very thing, but I was trueborn then, and noble. "My lord is kind to say so." AlayneĀ smoothed his hair.
He knew nothing of his mother; Eddard Stark would not talk of her. Yet he dreamed of her at times, so often that he could almost see her face. In his dreams, she was beautiful, and highborn, and herĀ eyes wereĀ kind.
For half a heartbeat the agony started to ebb. But then the iron touched him once again, and he fainted. When his eyelids fluttered open, he was wrapped in thick wool and floating. He could not seem to move, but that did not matter. For a time he dreamed that Ygritte was with him, tending him withĀ gentleĀ hands. Finally he closed his eyes and slept.

Jon Snow and Sansa Stark as Odysseus and Penelope from The Odyssey
"Nevertheless I long ā I pine, all my days ā to travel home and see the dawn of my return. And if a god will wreck me yet again on the wine-dark sea, I can bear that too, with a spirit tempered to endure. Much have I suffered, labored long and hard by now in the waves and wars. Add this to the total ā bring the trial on!"

Jon stood in the crisp, clean foyer feeling ever mite of soot and dust that must still be on his person despite his hard scrubbing this morning. He rubbed the heel of his boot on the back of his calf and looked down at it. It hadnāt helped.Ā
āMr Snow!ā Jon turned and saw Governor Stark walking toward him, smiling. āItās good to see you.ā Commodore Stark offered him a smile.Ā
āGood day, sir! I have your order.ā Jon held out the case for the older man, flipping the lid open. Governor Stark moved and picked up the sword encased in its scabbard. It was a beautiful piece, some of Jonās finest work.
āThe blade is folded steel. Thatās gold filigree laid into the handle. If I may-ā Jon reached for the sword, releasing it from the scabbard and balancing the weapon on his finger where the blade and the guard meet. āPerfectly balanced.ā Thereās pride in his voice, he knows, but he has reason to be proud. This is a fine weapon, both in beauty and in purpose. This blade was not just decoration.Ā
āImpressive, very impressive.ā Governor Stark took the sword back and examined the goldwork around the guard. āYouāre work?ā He asked with a small smile on his face.
āAye.ā Jon felt his pride bloom in his chest again.
āYou have my compliments.ā Governor Stark said with a nod.Ā
āThank you, sir. A craftsman always appreciates-ā Jon trailed off as Miss Stark made her way down the stairs.Ā He saw Governor Stark turn toward his daughter.
āSansa! You look lovely.āĀ Miss Stark reached the bottom of the stairs and smiled at her father, but her gaze flickered to Jon. Words seemed to fail him so he nodded in agreement and tried to smile.Ā
āJon!ā She cried and moved toward him. āItās so good to see you.ā She moved toward him, her hand going to a golden chain around her throat, the bauble at the end tucked into the bodice of her dress. āI dreamed about you last night.āĀ
Jon blinked in surprise and opened his mouth to say something, but Governor Stark spoke first.
āSansa, that is hardly appropriate conversation.ā Governor Stark said, his words scolding but his tone holding no reproach.Ā
āIt was about the day we met. Do you remember?ā She moved closer still and smiled at him. Heād loved that smile since he was 10 years old and coughing up sea water.Ā
āI could never forget it, Miss Stark.ā He knew his was staring at her, knew he should look away, bow his head, do something, but her eyes were enchanting him.Ā
āJon, how many times must I ask you to call me āSansaā?ā She smiled at him. Jon smiled back, but saw Governor Stark shift on his feet behind Miss Starkās shoulder.Ā
āAt least once more, Miss Stark. As always.ā He bowed his head now but managed to catch the flicker of disappointment that crossed her face.Ā
āGood man.ā Governor Stark said moving toward them. He reached out and took the sword and its case from Jonās arms. āYou understand propriety. Come along, Sansa.āĀ Governor Stark nodded at Jon with a smile before moving to the large front door. It was opened by a footman that seemed to appear from thin air.Ā
Miss Stark met his eyes and he saw some emotion there, something like frustration or annoyance. She straightened her spine and gathered her skirts in her hands.
āGood day, Mr Snow.ā She walked passed him and Jon followed a few steps behind her.
āGood day.ā He said, watching as she was escorted into a carriage by another footman. The carriage soon pulled away and Jonās eyes followed Miss Stark.
āSansa.ā He whispered.

Sometimes her sleep was leaden and dreamless, and she woke from it more tired than when she had closed her eyes.
āI gotta tell you something. The other night, at the Eastwood gameā I was⦠struggling. And then, I heard someone singing. Elton John. Right? I followed your voice through the tunnels. I saw you in the green room. Saying it out loud, I realize that sounds creepy, but... you were so⦠like, genuine, you know? And free.ā

~ Lots of Love
Guys. GUYS.
What are the first words used to describe Penelope? Wary, reserved, and RADIANT.
I CANNOT.
āSansa looked radiant as she walked beside him [Joffrey],ā ā A Game of Thrones, Jon V
I'm reading Chivalry and Courtesy, by Daniele Cybulskie, and in Chapter II, "How to Woo", we have this definition of "courtly love":
"Courtly love involved a man suffering greatly from an overwhelming passion and desire for a beautiful, unattainable lady he would swear to serve in all things."

Jon touched his cheek like an idiot. He had to admit it: what he felt for Dr. Sansa Stark was, certainly, more than fantasizing about getting her into bed. He was terrified of scaring her off if she knew him deeper, so thoroughly that she would know him as if she had given birth to him herself. And that fear had a name.
A lot has happened⦠Things are progressing little by little between these two heheheā¦
"and if you'd never come for me, i might've lingered in purgatory
you wrap around me like a chain, a crown, a vine, pulling me into the fire"

my brain before sleeping: Jon thought - if Sansa saw the Wall, she would cry from the beauty. When Ygritte started crying, Jon wanted to comfort her⦠A romantic impulse, an intimate moment.
The boy wanted to comfort the crying red-haired girl on the Wall.
all i'm saying is late season jonsa feels very penelope/odysseus coded
king leaves his kingdom to fight a far-off war
kingdom is left in hands of wife/sister
imprisonment after the war prevents him from returning home
wife/sister maintains the legitimacy of the king and insists on his eventual return
the two are reunited (there is no platonic explanation for that scene)
not to mention the prev generation essentially being the Iliad/Jon's mother and father being Helen/Paris & Sansa constantly fighting off suitors trying to usurp her kingdom through marriage
