poe dameron by all means is the poster boy for heroic acts and stubbornness caused by too much heroism . so when hux had asked him to stay inside the base and accompany the ginger instead , poe couldn’t do it . not when his friends and comrades are laying their lives on the field while he does nothing ? 𝘶𝘯𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘰𝘧 . so of course he went out to the mission and not only endanger his life but also his comrades . but in the end 𝑻 𝑯 𝑬 𝒀 𝑾 𝑶 𝑵 . right ? so there wasn’t any harm done , right ?

𝕆𝕗 𝕔𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕤𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕨𝕒𝕤 … when poe had joined his group at a cantina to rejoice in their once in a life time victory with no casualties ( ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ɢʀᴏᴜᴘ ) he wanted to celebrate and have a good day for once . but of course that was not happening when he heard the sudden slam of a hand against the metal table which caused him to jerk as he settled his drink down . he first saw the glove ; black leather , new , and covering slim hands . it took just a glance at the glove to know who it was , “ 𝓗𝑢𝑥. . “ he said the name as if it was a sacred whisper before he straightened himself when he saw that angered expression . “ what’re you doing here –– i thought you were busy at the base ? “

the nerve … more than anything , armitage is angry because the man barely has a sign of worry or fear on his face while others trembled upon his angry face . jaw clenches tightly , to the point it hurts . ❝ ’ busy at the ba- ’ ❞ he pauses to breathe out an aggressive laughter , a hand rose to pinch the bridge of his bony nose in pure irritation . may stars give him patience . ❝ i couldn’t stay on the base , dameron . because it was DESTROYED . ❞ the cantina fell into silence . ❝ the pilots i have assigned for this job had kriffed off to stars know where ! ❞ one day he’ll have a heart attack and hopefully it’ll be the end for him .

a few moments passed . all the general did was to glare at him and his friends with wildfire in the forest of his eyes , they soon calm down . never tamed , but collected . he allows a trembling breath leave his mouth before he’s fixing the lapels of his cream colored coat . ❝ you’re demoted . you will not be able to fly an x-wing ever again . ❞ and with that he was leaving , fixing the white gloves rather too aggressively as he exits the cantina .

there was a moment of pure 𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 coming from poe . he was listening to everything ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑙 had to say . at first he was confused . angry . then outright surprised . standing up from his seat , nearly knocking the chair down , he followed right after the general in haste . his wild curls bounced , his brows knitted in a deep confused frown , and his lips were set into a pout . once he reached up to hux , the 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 placed a hand in front of their chest as if to stop them . ❝ . . wait you cant DEMOTE me for something like that ! ❞ hux don’t take the 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 that poe actually excels at .
