He blushed, as he moved to gently squeeze his hand. âIts.. nice once in a while. If you arenât a freedom fighter. You can accept those Honorary britannian titles and try to make a living for yourself. But.. freedom fighter or not, if you.. find the right person..â He mused, moving to glance at her. âYou could be happy. Race or not.â He gave a chuckle, as he then glanced aside, blushing a bit.
Okay Suzaku. You are now holding hands of the enemy. And now your saying it doesnât matter race or not. What..are you really fighting for?
Happiness?
Peace?
Or.. what?
"So⊠is it a yes for the ashford trip?"
Noticing his blush, her own cheeks flush and her lips pull up into a bigger smile. "Do you think that can happen, Suzaku? I think it would be nice." She hums softly, leaning her head back to let the sun illuminate her face.Â
At his question she shields her eyes from the sun and looks to him once more. "An outstanding yes. I can't wait to see the academy, and meet your friends. If they're anything like you I'm sure they're wonderful."
Sorry I've been absent! It's crunch time for a con next week so I won't be on Labor Day weekend but I'll try and catch up now.
Happy Birthday Jay!!! (*~âœ~)
Lelouch:Â But please, you have to save Nunnally! I beg of you!
Suzaku: After everything youâve done you really think this is sufficient? You believe that some bowing and begging is enough to get me to forgive you?!

"Well.." He moves to take off his jacket, setting it on the ground for Euphemiaâ Well, there was no benches or chairs around. At least let the woman feel comfortable! He gave a light smile,as he simply sat down in the grass. "I think things have gotten better already."
It was weird. He was seriously going against orders? But She.. really was different.
â.. Whats it like? Being a britannian, Euphemia..â He mused. He was generally curious..
"Oh, thank you Suzaku." She hummed softly, sitting on his jacket and spreading her dress to keep it from wrinkling as they sat. "I agree though, even in just small changes, like Ashford Academy, I'm glad Japanese and Britannians can work together."
"Well, I don't know if I'm the best one to ask, being royalty. But... It's cushioned. I've been sheltered my whole life, but I do enjoy going out and exploring Japan." She reached over, taking his hand in hers and interlocking their fingers together. "And what do you think of being Japanese, Suzaku?" She loved his name- so different from what she had heard in the homeland. Euphemia could say it all day.Â

He forgot to let her speak to Zero.. but did he really want her facing him like this? The SAZ plan should go in affect, like it was planned. Suzaku looked to Euphemia, then said âHow about plans change a bit? We can keep talking like this.â
It was just.. he wanted to learn more about this girl who simply disregarded her royal title. She seemed.. gentle, kind. Loyal. Trustworthy. Someone you wanted to rely on, to tell more about yourself too. Suzaku gave a nod. âDoes that seem reasonable?â
"And.. It kinda has a price to go to school like that, and. to work with Zero. I frankly donât like lying to people I consider friends, you know?"He glances down, frowning.. "But, its a price to pay, you know?"
"Oh, I don't mind... Do you mind if we sit, Suzaku? These shoes aren't the most comfortable." She laughs softly, leading him towards a bench in the courtyard. Euphemia doesn't let go of his hand as they walk, humming softly.
She enjoyed his company, the ease of being able to speak with him was refreshing. The former princess had time before her presentation, and didn't pay mind to the guards that stood by awaiting a command. Her time and thoughts were temporarily devoted to the young man in front of her.Â
"I see... I hope things become easier for you in the future, Suzaku." She smiled slightly, understanding the burden. Though he wore a mask in his appearances, most of his time was surely consumed by his commander.Â

"For one.. Promise me youâll let loose around me? No more of that formal crap. No offense." He said, giving a light smile. He decided to let himself get lost in memories. "Ah, yeah. Milly Ashford had this kendo festival going on, and it was really fun. Then a swimming contest tooâ They just have all kinds of festivals. From sports to just having fun." He explains, with a little laugh.Â
"And Iâm.. not asking for your pity in this. Infact, I donât ask for your pity at all. But Kururugi Genbu? .. He was my father. If anything.. Iâd like to set Japan back into greatness. But I feel like this.. whole charade of a war has a deeper depth then two sides. Its two ideals clashing at eachother.. AndâŠNow iâm the one rambling." He ended with a chuckle. He then looks to her, and gave a soft, genuine smile.
"The students or.. Anyone else donât know about me working for Zero. So I could offer you a visit on the campus, if youâd like." He stated, after a moments pause, feeling as if he freaked her out.
"Are you sure? I thought you were sent here for some other purpose than to chat with former royalty." Her lips pulled into a smile as she nodded. "I don't mind though, Suzaku. I'm enjoying this." Stopping as they walked, she stood on her tiptoes to press her lips to his cheek for just a moment. Pulling away with her cheeks flushed, she nods though doesn't voice a word of sympathy. "I understand... I don't mind you talking though. I think we have the same goal. Different methods, of course." She smiles back as she resumes walking.Â
"I know we're covering a range of topics during our walk, but I would love to attend a day at Ashford with you if my sister will allow it." Taking his hand in hers, the young girl has a bounce in her step. "Oh, I would love to see the festivities, Suzaku! Though, how do you get away with serving Zero and living as a student as well? I'm envious."

â..Yes. Our last prime minister died of suicide.â He couldnât just tell her outstraight, that six years ago, he simply slaughtered his dad to protect his nation. Somehow, that seemed like something he shouldnât tell her. She seemed educated enough though, to know that. Instead of looking down and reminiscing over that memory, he looks up, and gives a chuckle.
"Its just a rumor Euphemia. I mean, thereâs plenty of them in Ashford, like, how Schneizel has a thing for three toed cats- Its just simple high school stuff kids do." He muses, as he then chuckles. "Quite a lot of people.. And its fun! Everyones kind to eachother. They try to be friends towards one another.."
He looks to her, and asks.
"You ask about the Goverment Zeroâs trying to set up. And if we have a prime minister. Can.. Can I trust you to keep a secret?"
He looked grim. He wouldnât say he exactly killed his father, but.. state that the prime minister had a son.And it was him.. And she did seem trustworthy..
"I'm sorry to hear that, Suzaku..." She sighed, resting her head on his shoulder as they walked. But the thought is pushed to the back of her mind when he mentions the cat. "Actually, Schneizel has a thing for five toed cats." Her cheeks flushed before she continued. "Not that it matters."Â
"I would love to attend, even briefly." Euphemia smiles slightly while sighing wistfully. "What kind of things do you participate in, Suzaku?" Her imagination had gotten the best of her in the past, thinking of school activities. "Have you participated in a sports festival? Ooh, what is lunch like at Ashford?"Â
She pauses when he asks his question, chuckling slightly. "Please excuse me, I was rambling. But yes, as long as it doesn't pertain to the safety of our people both Britannian and Japanese, then yes I will keep your secret."Â

"Iâd like to think its repeating history. A country trying to free itself from oppressive ruleâ Its just how things go it seems." He muses. "With Charles trying to keep his hand on a country that desperately wants its freedom.. " He shrugs, and moved to look to her, as he decided to disregard the order Zero gave him: He wanted to hear her out. To truly see a royal in a not judgemental sight. He simply gave a slight smile, as he continued walking.
"Hmm. Did you know theres a academy here, that allows Japanese and Brittanian students to work toegether? Well, in a classroom at the least." He said, trying to start a simple conversation. He stuck his hands in his pockets. "There was a rumor of a royal being there too. I donât believe it though.. Are your siblings attending that school?" He asks, giving a little smile.
At least he was trying to be friendly. It could have been worse.Â
"Then do you have a government in place for when Japan becomes a free country? The previous prime minister is dead now, correct?" Euphemia frowned but didn't pry further then those questions.
It was interesting for her to learn about other movements, and found how Zero united so many people under a common goal quite admirable. Seeing his lips pull up into a smile she couldn't help but match it. It was nice seeing his face light up, even if just a little.
"Do you mean Ashford Academy?" Euphemia keeps her hands at her sides as they walked. "I've heard of it, and would love to attend. Though I don't know about any other royalty attending..." She sighs slightly while locking arms with Suzaku. "My education was postponed as a child except for tutors, and I don't know if I'll be able to continue it, unfortunately."Â
"Do you attend school at Ashford?" She asked with her brow raised, pasting a smile back on her face. Â "What's that like? Are there a lot of people attending?" The young girl was obviously curious as to how the school worked, and what it was like, having no idea of the innerworkings in so long.Â

He moved the mask off, disregarding hiding his identity at the moment. He dropped it, as he looked her in the eyes- His jade eyes usually grim, and dark, as he stated simply. âSuzaku Kururugi. But, since you want to be called Euphemia, I suppose.. Suzaku would be enough.â He replied, as he then looks away. âIf anything, I can understand your hestitation on meeting Zero. But I assure you, he wonât kill you. Youâve made a friend out of a feared man.â He replied, with a slight smirk.
But I still donât buy this âdisregard the crownâ bullshit I heard all over the media. Sheâs just the same: She uses good people like Kallen to achieve the goals she wants in this damn war. This war I..caused..
Revenge was all he wanted. Britannia pushed his father to almost do what he did, and justice was in that sword that he stabbed through his father. He was looking for revenge against Genbu, revenge against himself for stooping so low to murder trash..
And he was looking for redemption, to cease the endless blood that washed upon his hands. He sighed softly, as he said. âIf anything, how about we talk, and I tell him what you want. Unless your guards want to start something.â He adds, with a mild snort..
Euphemia was somewhat surprised when he pulled his mask off to see an attractive youth, closer to her age than she had expected. She had to wonder what had happened in his lifetime to lead him on such a path as the one he had chosen in serving Zero.Â
"Suzaku..." His name rolled off her tongue and she smiled as she took another step and and his hand in her own, shaking it for a moment in greeting. "I'm sure my guards will behave themselves. Shall we take a walk?" She waved them away, unconcerned for her safety at the moment.Â
"I have no qualms with meeting Zero again, in fact I'm quite looking forward to it, if there is a possibility we can work something out between our two governments." She paused, cocking her head in thought. "If that's how you see yourselves. Will you enlighten me, Suzaku?" Euphie asked, turning her smile to him again as she offered her arm to him before they began walking.
