Two protesters killed and at least 10 wounded today in Haiti’s capital. Police opened fire on anti-govt protesters with tear gas and live ammunition in the area of Champ Mars near the National Palace.
Patrick Kilonzo Mwala works as a pea farmer in Kenya. When he isn’t working, he drives 45km to a watering hole. Due to severe drought, the watering hole was often completely dry. That was until Patrick stepped in. Four times a week, he delivers 12,000 litres of water to fill the watering hole. He supplies water for a variety of animals including elephants, zebras, buffalo and monkeys, to name just a few. Each visit costs Patrick approximately $326 which is thankfully donated by the generous public. The animals now depend on Patrick and he said that when he arrives, they often flock around his water truck.

Orta says that after filming Garner’s death he was repeatedly harassed and targeted by police and arrested 8 times in a span of 2 years.
The man who killed Eric Garner, Daniel Pantaleo, on the other hand got a 15% pay rise since the shooting of Eric.

Remember this started because Snyder switched Flint from a freshwater mountain lake to the polluted Flint River simply to allow his wife’s company to use the lake for bottling instead. This is a manufactured crisis of corruption and capitalism.
Also remember that the pipes corroded because they refused to pay for the chemical used to make the water less acidic.
Remember that when the first E. coli outbreak from the water popped up, the city hall was given water coolers by the state, free of charge, all while denying that the water could be unsafe to drink.
Remember that, despite having a huge budget surplus and a “rainy day fund,” set aside that could easily cover the cost of relocating the residents by buying their houses/paying their debt, or could cover a large chunk of the cost of replacing the pipes, the state has decided to continue to only put in the minimal amount of effort.
Remember that flint is majority POC, majority impoverished, and is still being faced with crippling water bills from the Detroit water supply company, where they are often charged $50 a month just to use the service, on top of the cost of their water bill.
Remember that there will now be an entire generation of children who will now be damaged by lead poisoning and damage from the multitude of neurotoxins.
Remember that this is what privatized natural resources looks like. Remember that these people are being punished for having the audacity to dare to be poor in an economy that won’t let them be anything but.
At every level, this has not been a mistake.
The State and City are most upset that people know its happening and are resisting nation-wide.
But if we lose focus they lose even the small amount of aid they’ve managed to get.
This is how they do it. It’s a siege on the public empathy. Eventually we become numb to the problem and despair. Or something bigger happens.

I just thought I’d let you all know that my tumblr page is on the verge of being terminated for good. Why, you ask? Over the past months, I’ve been receiving violation notices for posting “sexually explicit” content on here, as well as copyright infringement notices for specific content, from tumblr staff. Y’all know damn well I don’t post nor reblog anything on here that’s sexually explicit lol. As for the copyright infringement claims, my posts that have been removed are eyebrow-raising.
For example: My latest post that was removed for copyright infringement off of this site, which happened Monday morning, was a 20 second video clip that was captured from the tv to a phone. It showed a Black female presenter congratulating and embracing Brianna Rollins on her gold medal at the Rio Olympics before uttering “Black Girls Rock.” …Yeah, that was removed.
Now I don’t want y’all to get the idea that the tumblr staff has it out for me or some shit. Y’all know how these anons love me on here. (Sarcasm). I’m pretty sure it’s one of them that’s doing all of this, has an obsession with my page, and has a lot of time on their hands going through my archive because some of these videos are dating years back.
What I think is happening is that anyone can submit a url and claim to be the copyright holder because the videos that’ve been targeted as infringement are questionable. I don’t think tumblr staff actually review any of the content that’s submitted for violation, but rather take the proposed “copyright holder’s” word for it. I’ve questioned them about this but I have yet to receive an answer. I know this is the case because one of my videos was taken down and after I made an appeal for tumblr staff to actually look at the video, they sent me this:

Remember that time somebody created a tumblr account on here using a variant of my username, created the exact theme and blog layout, AND decided to follow me. That’s a whole ‘nother story. People are crazy.
Anywho, the things I post on here are meant to inspire and/or create discussions. I have an opinion on everything as many of you know (lol). Maybe it’s about that time that I really look into creating my own video content on youtube, which some of you have been telling me to do. The only thing that’s holding me back is my timid, introvert tendencies that creep up (I’m an ambivert btw) and the fact that I freeze up in front of a camera. I’ma make it work.

Turkish president Recep Erdogan has ordered that at least 131 media outlets suspected of inciting or sympathising with this month’s failed military coup be permanently shut down. [x] [x]
That includes three news agencies, 16 TV channels, 23 radio stations, 45 daily newspapers, 15 magazines, and 29 publishing houses.
Erdogan’s post-coup purges have targeted at least 55,000 people, including soldiers, police, civil servants, and academics, suspected of inciting or sympathising with the military uprising. At least 16,000 have been detained so far.
Journalists (a long time favourite target of Erdogan’s) have also been hastily targeted in the post-coup crackdown. As of Thursday, 42 journalists have been detained, according to Turkish analyst and journalist Mahir Zeynalov (89 warrants have presently been issued).

The reason was so that the Pharmaceutical companies could charge $17,000 dollars per person per year for them instead. In addition, the Clinton threatened South Africa with trade sanctions for not complying. The Bush administration later also sued India for making their own version of the triple cocktail.
