I know book one Lucien has always been sassy but man the graphic audio of ACOTAR takes it to a different level.

He is killing me with the levels of sass that’s how good it’s depicted.

Azriel said he would defeat Lucien in a Blood Duel for her, instead of simply telling Rhysand that this is something Elain wouldn't want, or simply stopping to think that KILLING Lucien would bring PAIN to Elain because of their mating bond.

Azriel has "loved" Elain since Acomaf. But even so, he didn't deny that he no longer feels anything for Mor when Rhysand asked.

Azriel gave the TT to Elain, she STABBED the King of Hybern, and Azriel didn't give her the slightest credit for it. Lucien is the one who acknowledges her deed.

Elain returned everything Azriel had given her, she didn't return any of Lucien's gifts, nor is it even stated whether she returned or even threw away the coat he put on her shoulders, as the narration made a point of showing her returning the necklace and the TT.

Lucien said that Elain is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.

The only time Azriel mentions Elain's beauty is when he's imagining having sex with her.

Lucien manifested a power he didn't even know he possessed in Hybern just to get to Elain.

Azriel, with an arrow in his chest, was only concerned about Morrigan.

Now this one's for the Elriels.

We complain about Azriel and Elain's actions, but we like the characters (especially because we want them with Gwyn and Lucien).

You've even called Lucien an abuser and constantly attack his appearance, even though he was the partner who most respected his mate's space. And you wished for Gwyn's death and called her the Hybern Deposit because AZRIEL felt the Spark in his chest for her.

So no, nobody here is going to feel sorry for you when the next books come out. You will read Elucien and Gwynriel knowing that complaining won't change absolutely anything, or you'll simply leave the fandom and finally leave us in peace.

You will cry and we will laugh.

It is interesting because Sarah did say in the past she was researching for Elain’s story/book… which ‘researching’ is a curious term because what is she researching for exactly? 👀 like it’s pretty obvious that Elain’s powers and abilities will be more than just her seer powers. Tbh I don’t even think we’ve fully seen what Nesta is capable of!

Actually..........this is an incredible thought and I never once thought to use it as supporting evidence. "And I remember the entire time I was ripping out the ivy, and trying to get some semblance of order into the garden beds, I just slipped into Elain's head. Elain is a gardener and everything I did during those weeks became research for her book." I mean, I guess she could technically be researching Elain's hobby / special interest the same way she might have looked into styles of dance for Nesta or painting techniques for Feyre but "everything I did during those weeks became research for her book" seems to suggest there's a bit more to it. Elain having healing powers / being a Mother Earth type figure is entirely plausible when we consider how she "found flowers somewhere" to place them on her father's grave, how Feyre couldn't figure out how Cassian was healed after the war (immediately noting Elain's still-bloody hands but not thinking anything of it despite having seen her rush to Cassian's side), how Elain says "the world needs more gardens" and the author told us about the many areas of Prythian with lands that are dead or dying, how she went on to mate a Sun God to an Earth Goddess. Time will tell but along with owl shifting this is one of my favorite Elain headcanons.

Whenever I remember that the first time Azriel ever calls Elain beautiful in his POV he goes;

“How that beautiful face might appear as he entered her.” What sounds she would make.”

And then the first time Lucien ever calls Elain beautiful in his POV he goes ;

“But he couldn’t breathe as she faced him fully. She was the most beautiful female he’d ever seen”

It makes me wonder why we honestly even have to argue about who the better male is for Elain?

The opinion that Elain cannot make an informed decision to reject Azriel because she does not know about Rhys’s order or the full depth of his suffering is genuinely horrendous, because it basically reduces women agency to “well she would owe him more consideration if only she knew how sad he was.” No. She saw his behavior, heard him call it a mistake, and responded to what he actually showed her. That is an informed decision. Women do not need to unlock the secret tragic context behind a man’s actions before they are allowed to reject him.

A quick reminder that there’s no foreshadowing or imagery for Elain and music. It is not one of her many hobbies or interests (and she had many). Music will not be apart of her story.

The harp and the Starsword belongs to Nesta. Theres nothing tying Elain to those objects.

Elain is not tied to Dusk either.

"Your beloved Tamlin" was spoken by Rhys to LUCIEN, not Feyre (she's still being glamoured and hidden at this point), and then he starts going on about Tamlin's skill in the bedroom as if he and Lucien both know exactly what that's like, and proceeds to brag by saying "I'm the one who taught him that"???

Rhysand has just been harassing anyone he thinks might be Tamlin's lover for the past few centuries because he taught Tamlin exactly how he likes it in bed and is still bitter that he never found anyone that good again.

Bloomsbury: Sharing the following video to their stories back in 2024 after inviting this particular creator to their Summer Book Club Event where she not only tells us the meaning of the name Lucien (who she mentions as a main character) but reminds us of his secret heritage (something that was first revealed in ACOWAR, we were later reminded of by Feyre in ACOFAS, and the author gave hints to in ACOSF when she had Lucien use a High Lords dominance on Cassian).

As an author you don't set up an OG character from book 1, confirm him to be the sole heir of a High Lord in book 3, have him begin to display the markers of a High Lord in book 5 only to have his story go nowhere.

You also don't make him a Sunshine Daddy only for him to lose his sunshine loving mate to a guy who prefers the shadows.
