Can we take a moment to appreciate how good of a story format Sanders Sides is? Having the main cast be made up of facets of someone’s personality and then having that person take part in the discussions is such a perfect way to show internal debates and struggles. Ik it’s not the only story to have this idea—like Inside Out inspired SaSi and follows a similar format. (I personally like SaSi better bc the main character is directly aware of and takes part in the debates but whatever.)

It’s just an empathetic and relatable way to share what the human experience is like. And that’s pretty neat.

The way I explain it to people is generally like, he’s taken himself and broken him up into pieces so he can check in with them when he has issues. So he can go, where’s the problem? Is it logically an issue? Do I have a problem with this morally? Am I just creatively stifled? And then he can go from there.

And then it’s just a good exercise in general, stopping and asking yourself what the core of the issue is so you can try and find a solution tailored to it.

If they have further questions about how it works, I can reference Inside Out. But it’s usually enough to have someone stop and consider how interesting a concept that is.
