"will you walk into my parlor?" said the spider to the fly
Bringing back Darcy's post @whathorselegs about Chuuya's domestic capabilities because LOOK AT THIS:
His room is too empty. And seeing it drawn as so just enhances how bleak everything in Chuuya's home life is. The desk itself almost seems too out of place— why is it directly obverse to the bed?? Why isn't it against the wall? Why is everything placed in a straight line across from one another?
Chuuya clearly has no idea how to organize/fill his space, because he never had a personal space to begin with. I'd imagine the luxury of having a whole space to yourself was hardly available during his time in the sheep, let alone a whole room.
Let's not forget that Chuuya, at this point, has lived an entire year in this apartment, yet he still has no desire to liven it up.
The emptiness inside him, the turmoil of having no identity, forced his living space to lack identity as well...
VINDICATION!!!!
*throat clearing* I mean, yes, very empty looking apartment you got there, Chuuya, a very eye opening look into your emotional state, that I take no joy in seeing what-so-ever, asdfghjk
You know,
The general rectangular shape of the room, dull colours, lack of furniture and light streaking through the blinds creating a repeated pattern remind me of something.... hmm...
Just what could IT BEEEE?????
don't shoot corpses in vain
From Asagiri’s “Reception of Modern Literature” lecture at Chuo University’s Hakumon Festival. It's quite interesting, so sharing it here. It's confirmed that there'll be more arcs after this one is finished!

#bsd119 // In a nutshell
I've been in a BSD mood lately. Sadly it involves me thinking about those two and then crying at least once a day.
"Fear death. Fear slaughter."

Happy (belated) Birthday to Dazai 🫶 Sorry this is late…><
I have more Corruption/Brutalization lore thoughts I'm not done
Here is Verlaine's black hole ability state, Brutalization:
Verlaine activated Brutalization out of hatred for humanity. Rimbaud, Verlaine's partner, was the one who named that state Brutalization, after the activation phrase. Rimbaud was also the one thinking about ways to bring Verlaine back from that state.
And here is Chuuya's version, Corruption:
Chuuya activated Corruption in order to save people. It was a decision made out of love for his friends and peers. Dazai, Chuuya's partner, was the one to name it Corruption (Disgrace in the translation, but from what I can find it's the same word in Japanese, "汚濁"), after the activation phrase. Dazai is the one who will be able to bring Chuuya back from this state.
Parallels down to the details. I'm feral.
