Hey uh. I haven’t been on in awhile. Not tagging this. Trigger warning for mentions of homelessness

Uh. To basically explain to anyone who still follows this account as to why I haven’t posted anything- a few years back (2 years ago now, about to be 3) I moved out of my apartment of five years and went to live in the Dominican Republic with my mom, and. It didn’t work out, I came back to the US, I was homeless for awhile, and. I was on and off for a bit on here during that phase but throughout the worst of it I just couldn’t do anything anymore. I lost my ability to do a lot of things and still am struggling to make art, I’m not in a great situation still but I’m doing much better than I was when I initially came back to the states (I was much better before the US set itself on fire)

All this to say this account is changing, I’m likely not gonna be fixating so much on canon warriors content, if anything im gonna be fixating on my own stuff from now on which will lean be very in the xenofiction realm but. For the most part? Things are changing.

Specifically, I look at this blog and I just. I see an attempt at being something I wasn’t then and still am no where close to being. I think hardship changes people intensely and. Im a very different person- to the point I struggle to look at these old posts and realize I made them.

If it seems like I don’t know what I’m doing, I really fucking don’t, but I want to create again. That’s the thing I’m proudest about this blog, it was the only place I was willing to be brave enough to share my stupid ideas. I wanna get back to doing that, just in a less hoity toity way. Having gone through all this has made me realize I don’t know shit, I thought I knew the world and I didn’t, and I still don’t, even though I’m slightly wiser than I was before- with the trade off of being very jaded by everything.

Alls this to say; I’m probably going through some sort of identity crisis but! Im ok, like I’m safe and I’m getting through it and this is just to let you know! I’ve changed. I don’t know if it’s for the better, but, I’ve changed.

the golden days of my writing were when i was highly active and engaged in this wonderful community, but life and work and the horrors of self publishing have overtaken my energy in the past year. however, i have been really struggling with original writing, and i want to get back into the community here.

ok so I’ve lowkey been dead for awhile, if you want an update — to be blunt, I lost my apartment of over 5 years, moved to an island far away from home, had a mental breakdown and was forced to move back in fear I’d jeopardize my mothers marriage because I hate her husband. I didn’t have a home for a bit and at some point when I caught Covid, I had to beg the doctor at the hospital to let me and my grandmother stay until we could get our housing situated. For the past few months I lost a lot of faith in humanity and people, and fell back into depression after a good few years of being somewhat stable. I was unable to create anything during this period and I haven’t really been doing great art wise still even as things have started to even out. I’m still kind of rusty but I do plan on creating some stuff, specifically, I think I’m gonna change my focus of this blog from an au rewrite to, perhaps, making a comic still based in the warriors universe. The au might still be something I’ll work on, but as of right now I don’t have any real interest in the canon characters and have begun to slowly put together a story. I don’t really know why I’m posting this, maybe for catharsis or some shit, now that I’m feeling like I’m not dead anymore I think I can finally move on to making something interesting

Really good villain, dare I say possibly one of the best. Personally myself I can't stand portrayals of him that make him one of those red hair dye emo twinks because of someone who drew him like that (Who was also a huge fan of him). Like with LeafPool I'm very, very picky on portrayals of him in a way that almost entirely goes against the common fandom portrayal of him

I'm picky on this too (Though it's yet another pairing I could give less of a shit about) because of how people work with their dynamic. I don't mind the toxic aspect of it but it's how typically people may go about with the execution of this toxicity.

Really difficult for me to describe what I mean so I think it'd be easier to describe what makes me feel gross: When their toxicity is clearly one-sided in terms of a power dynamic. What I mean is this:

When HawkFrost is the one with a position of control over AshFur

When he uses this position to toy with AshFur's thoughts and feelings

Now this isn't really much of a problem for me, but it's how they portray AshFur's side:

Making him some poor little fucking twink being manipulated by this guy

I once again must bring out the yaoi base image because it's how I see a lot of portrayals of them

I can't even describe this shit properly but this sort of dynamic is always romanticized with some fans of HawkAsh which is what I hate the most. Of course not to get super into it but the dynamic reminds me too much of some shit I went through when I was younger

I know this may sound hypocritical since I'm a fan of exploring the abuse of DarkStripe by TigerClaw but 1) It's never in the context of romance and 2) I never went through that experience of familial abuse so for me personally it doesn't bother me as much (Although DarkTiger VERY MUCH is something that bothers the fuck out of me)

This is a bunch of brain slop already but tldr: I'm picky with HawkAsh portrayals but I hate the toxic power dynamic being romanticized in a specific way
