Introduction Post!

I’m realizing I’ve been on this site for over 10 years but I’ve never introduced myself so here’s some random stuff about me

I go by Ken currently, she/they pronouns

I’m 25 and live in AZ, which has a very turbulent political field currently. This is the reason I got back into reproductive rights advocacy recently since we nearly lost our rights here in the last election

I have a degree in Biology and spent time researching protists while I was in college, which I enjoyed a lot

I started this blog around the time Trump announced he was considering running for president because I was worried about our politics in the U.S. but wasn’t old enough to vote at that time

I focus on a lot of different issues, but I am especially passionate about LGBTQ+ issues, reproductive rights, voting, and general human welfare

This is a sideblog so if I follow back it’ll be under @godisreallybi which is a multifandom blog, I never anticipated that I would end up using this blog as much I do but here we are

I try to make resource posts regarding different issues currently going on, I was very active during the election trying to get people registered to vote

If you have something you want more clarification on in U.S. politics, let me know! Even if I don’t know the answer I can point you in the right direction or research it for you and provide some sources

I’m not the most the knowledgeable person in the world, I try to cite any claims I share, but news is ever changing and can be hard to navigate. If I say something wrong, please let me know or show me where there is a contradiction

That being said, if you think there is a resource I should make, let me know! I love researching, and creating information things, so I willing to make posts by request!

So I was scrolling and saw this image in an article about the European heat wave,

And was like, uh, are you missing something there, buddy? Like all that red in northern Africa? Because that's a lot of red.

And I was going to give them the benefit of doubt, since I don't know much about the climate in Northern Africa, aside from Morroco and Egypt, which seem like really hot places, so you know, maybe it's normal there?

But nope, that's not the case:

The Texas State Board of Education are elected! 8 seats will be up for election this November. While the official list of which board members voted in favor/against has not been officially released, the list below is my findings based off news coverage and mathematical reasoning. Please note that 1 democrat must have abstained, but I am unsure who it was. If you live in a district that has a democrat board member, I urge you to reach out to them to find out how they voted!

Colorado Voting Overview - Midterms 2026

This guide will contain information regarding the state of Colorado for the 2026 U.S. Midterm Election, including who is running, how to register to vote, deadlines, and more. Need info for another state? Check my voting guide under 'state specifics'! **please note that the dates listed are for the final stage of the election (11/3/2026), but I strongly encourage you to vote in the state primaries which will have the same requirements, just sooner deadlines!

Deadline to register: In person - no deadline (can register up to and on Election Day), By mail - postmarked 8 days before the election, Online - 8 days before the election

How to register: Online, in person, or by mail

Colorado does offer same day registration (including early voting and Election Day)

Felons can vote in CO once they are no longer incarcerated

How to vote - mail in

Any registered voter may vote using a vote-by-mail ballot instead of going to the polls on Election Day. Absentee Ballots will be sent automatically to all registered voters.

Ballot can be mailed back as long as it is post marked on or by election day, OR dropped off at any polling place or official drop box by 7pm on Election Day

Statewide election dates

June 30, 2026: Primary - Open to Unaffiliated Voters - if you are registered with a political party, you would vote on their ballot, unaffiliated voters can choose which ballot they want to vote on during each primary election

November 3, 2026: General election

Colorado will have 8 house seats up for election. Currently, republicans and democrats hold an even number of seats.

Colorado will have 1 Senate seat up for election. Currently, this position is held by a Democrat (John Hickenlooper), who will be seeking reelection.

Colorado will be electing a governor. The current governor is Democrat, and will not be re-running this election.

There will be 5 ballot measures up for vote; regarding immigration, drug related crime sentencing, gender affirming healthcare, sex crime sentencing, and transgender athletes.

TV station ABC7 — part of the ABC network, a station which officially goes by the call sign KGO-TV — has launched a campaign asking viewers and other interested parties to contact the FCC and express their support for the station.
