Ephesians 6:17 says that the weapon that the Spirit uses to kill sin is the word of God. It says to take “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” 2. Hear with faith. Galatians 3:5: 👈 the Spirit is supplied to you in your sin-killing work. How do you put yourself in a position that the Spirit wielding his sword of the word will kill sin in your life? You do it by hearing that word and trusting what you hear. 3. Preach specific promises to kill specific sins. We are standing on the gospel all the time, but we are preaching specific promises to ourselves in order to destroy specific sins. We need to not only preach to ourselves but to preach and warn all about the sins and it's consequences. First Timothy 6:10: “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” The Bible does not condemn wealth and neither should we. The Bible does not uphold poverty as the pathway to righteousness, nor should we. We can know that the presence or absence of money is not the way we measure God’s blessing. “Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all,” notes Proverbs 22:2. Clearly the issue is not being rich, but the heart attitude towards money that concerns the Lord. Issue is Money gives us Power Power gives us stardom Stardom blind us. Make us Public pleaser rather then a God pleaser.
