↳ STRANGER THINGS | 5.03 “Chapter Three: The Turnbow Trap”
Yané and Saché in Queen’s Shadow & Darth Vader (2022) #32
From Star Wars: Queen’s Shadow by E.K. Johnston
I just started the book (I am still on chapter one), and I really need to congratulate Yané and Saché for securing the coveted “most obviously and immediately gay handmaidens” award.
American Horror Story x Star Wars AU Pt. 1 - Zadison
They come from two completely different worlds.
Zoe is on her way to become a Jedi-Knight, as one of the very last members of the Order, and adding to that she is also a member of the rebel alliance, helping them in their fight for freedom against the Empire.
Madison on the other hand, is one of the most vicious, cold-hearted Sith-Lords that the galaxy has ever seen, being the apprentice of none other than the most powerful Sith of them all - Lady Fiona.
When the young Jedi and Sith first cross paths, it ends in an lightsaber duel that nearly ends with Zoe getting force-choked to death and also costs her right hand on top of it all. So it would be ridiculous of Zoe to care for Madison, right?
At first, Zoe might actually agree with that but the more times that their paths cross during the war, the more the Padawan begins to find herself becoming intrigued with her enemy and she slowly comes to the realisation that behind this heartless facade is actually nothing but a young girl who got hurt one too many times. Even though her master, Cordelia Goode, insists that once somebody has chosen the path of the dark side, it will forever dominate their destiny, Zoe refuses to believe that that is the case for Madison and she can feel it crystal clear that there is still good in the Sith.
No matter how much her fellow Jedi and friends try to convince her otherwise, Zoe knows that there is still a chance for her to guide Madison back to the light. She has to at least try…
zoe is a top-switch fight me.
Kyle: Wait, how many guys have you fucked?
Zoe: You know, that is an excellent question, Madison. How many guys have you been with?
Madison: No, it's not an excellent question. In fact, it's an irrelevant question. Because I'm no longer interested in men, so.
Kyle: Well, how many men do you have to fuck to no longer be interested in them?
Texts from the Handmaidens
Rabé: Is there a word that’s a mix between angry and sad?
Saché: Malcontented, disgruntled, miserable, desolated.
Yané: Smad.
Eirtaé: There are two types of people.
sabedala / good luck, babe! - chappell roan
"You love her," Tonra said. Sabé froze. "Of course I do," she said. She met his gaze. "It's a complicated relationship. She can order me to my death, and I will go. And she knows it. We've worked so hard to maintain a balance we will never truly have. As far as I can see, she will always pick Naboo, and I will always pick her." – E.K. Johnston, Queen's Shadow
We seriously need a show about Padmé and her handmaidens. These girls all have very interesting stories and they are ignored.
The handmaidens may not show much emotion, but when they do… it’s priceless
the entire plot of TPM, minus podracing and jedi bs, summed up in one meme
Just finished reading the Padmé trilogy in one go (re-reading in the case of Queen's Shadow) and I really enjoyed them. Very short and very simple, very rarely groundbreaking or consequential in any significant way, but loaded with fantastic character moments. Not to mentioned the gayest that SW has ever been, by a long shot. Really hoping Johnston writes a Beru book next, that felt like the most logical step at the end. Would also love a Breha book!
