Not your Typical “Good Night”

(Alternately) Best of Sleep, Sweetest of Dreams.

Good Night, Sweet Dreams.

I never liked how typical that sounded... Why only a good night? Why just sweet? Why say it every night,

as if asking,

pleading,

For a cavity in your

teeth?

Best Of Sleep,

I never got good sleep,

And even then, sometimes,

a good sleep wasn’t

enough

to get you through

the rougher

days

and so:

Best Of Sleep.

May it be the best

you’ve ever

had

To have the rest you need

and wake without

Difficulties

Sweetest of Dreams,

Because sweet dreams wasn’t enough

I don’t want the sweet

like candy

Rotting away at your

teeth

These Dreams...

I want the Dreams

that make you Cherish

the small moments,

Make you sit and Make you wonder..

Reminiscing on

the sweetest of dreams in

remembrance; in longing...

and in love:

(the sweetness that stays...

long after...)

No bitter

aftertaste.

Rest well, and be at peace.

Free.

Every day, every night, I long for freedom. My house feels not like a home, but like a building that is only slightly more comfortable than a prison. I have times where I am allowed to choose when I sleep or eat, but more often times than none I am forced into doing so. That’s why when I sleep, I dream of being “free.”

My eloquence rots at the shriveling breath of my empty lungs. And yet it courses through my veins like burning crimson blood, anguishing at the pathetic quiver of my lips that strive to say anything but your name. And yet that’s all I know.

And your words glide like silk. You don’t know what you’re doing to me, and it’s beautifully painful. I want to pause this moment to seal it with a kiss, but I don’t want to continue as if it never happened. Please, accept this as just a small notice of some little thing called love.

Mild Child

I was born into a world

I can no longer live in.

The skin I’ve grown,

It’s color is

No longer

Vivid.

I dream

Dream and dream

Of being the child I was

Wild

A temper only mild

But now I’ve grown.

But my fear is not the same

As your fear.

You of change

And I of things

-Staying the same as

-They are

-right now.
