Assalamu alaykum lovely people!
I haven’t been on this site in months, but how are you all doing?
Day 09/10: Trust that Allah can give you the best if you believe, do good deeds, and ask of Him, but also remember that if something sounds too good to be true, you might be right.
Day 05-08: The reason behind most of your shortcomings and challenges are a result of your sins and your lack of making tawbah.
It doesn’t matter what you do - always come back to Allah and repent. Set a specific time even at the end of the day or twice a day where you repent for everything you’ve done and ask Allah for guidance and steadfastness.
Day 04: You can fool the people, you can even fool yourself, but you can never fool Allah.
The only way forward is to be truthful and sincere - anything less won’t benefit you.
Day 02/03:
Four Ramadans ago, I wrote this:
“Day 29: It’s the last day of Ramadan and I’ve learned this month that I’m far too focused on the dunya. And to be honest, the only time it’s good to focus on the dunya is when it can improve your akhira.”
And sadly it still rings true. So my advice to myself is to really ask myself, why am I holding on to the dunya so tightly when I know that what Allah has prepared for His believing servants in the akhirah is better? And I ask that Allah cleanses all of our hearts from love of this dunya and fills our hearts with the love of Allah, ameen.
Day 01: Sometimes we obsess over our actions to the point that we forget that our ability to do good is a blessing that Allah has bestowed upon us.
Remember to be sincere with Allah, to be present in your life, and to ask Allah to guide you to that which is best.
And trust that Allah will open the door to doing good deeds for you if you’re sincere in pleasing Him alone.
Mahmoud Darwish, from Memory for Forgetfulness: August, Beirut, 1982 (tr. Ibrahim Muhawi)
Day 00: I think the pandemic has made me slightly commitment-phobic in many aspects of life, so this month will, insha’Allaah, be a month where I commit to doing better.
I ask that Allah makes this month where I renew my commitments, a month where I show up for up my commitments, and a month where I commit to fixing my relationship with Allah.
remember to be alive. spend less time scrolling and getting trapped in old thoughts...you won’t find what you need there. it’s time to be making new things, thinking new thoughts, loving and appreciating as much as you can, and experiencing the life in front of you.
You could see it coming.
A man once asked one of the Salaf:
How much Qur’an should we read?
He replied: Equivalent to the amount of happiness you are looking for.

'...Feeling happy about something...'
Shaykh-ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said concerning the matter of feeling happy about something:
“If he makes istakhaarah, then whatever Allah makes him feel happy about and makes easy for him, this is what Allah has chosen for him.”
(Majmoo’ al-Fataawaa, 10/539)
Al-'Allamah al-'Uthaymin (رحمه الله تعالى) said, "All of the problems that afflict the individual from thoughts, whisperings and heedlessness are due to neglecting the Prayer." Jalasat Ramadaniyyah (2/19)
