Before it ends, I must say…

My theory was never proven wrong, I had my very own theory and never was on the “they’re in pods and Kinger is op and will defeat Caine thing”

If you were wondering, my theory goes along the lines of Caine isn’t a true AI and is basically as trapped as the rest of them all. He may be a failed npc who took over by accident or better yet a real person.

Anyways, he wants out just as much as the others. So he tried make an exit. But he can’t.

The reason the exit door looped in episode one, was because Caine doesn’t know to make one that works, so he keeps re-trying. Slowly he started to try less and less, as he grew more and more strained mentally.

Then he adopted the whole “faithful guide through adventures” persona to cope with it. And at this point, Caine has completely convinced himself that this is the truth, that he’s an AI whose purpose is to make fun adventures and games for the human there. So when someone questions it he feels threatened, which is why he tampers with their minds- to force his story and reality onto them.

Those who he can’t help are abstracted and hidden away.

I do doubt I’m right considering the inspo for tadc is I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream but still, I’ve been keeping this in since episode one.

It ain’t a perfect theory, but a fun one ig.
