As you may know, Discord is currently getting closer and closer to drowning in their own enshittification, be it their bullshit age verification rule (which they're claiming to delay to "improve" it, but when you're affiliated with palantir and also just had a massive data breach involving over 70,000 government ID's being leaked, you're not exactly a reputable entity), or subjecting your communities to being surveilled by AI in order to deem if they have to be marked as NSFW (and subsequently require you to upload your ID if they mark you as a minor due to arbitrary reasons just so you can look at yaoi porn with your friends).
So if you're like me and wondering if it's time to jump ship, you're probably also wondering: where do we go?

Ita Hearts is a Matrix homeserver that I created primarily for people in fandom communities to be able to talk about leftist, queer, and/or adult topics that otherwise may put them at risk on platforms like Discord. I saw Matrix being discussed as a good alternative, but many of the homeservers that already existed either had restrictive rules on adult content or were being run by 4channers. So, I decided to go and ahead and make my own!
Ita Hearts is explicitly profic/proship and anti-censorship. Being on the Matrix protocol means that it is also very private; your messages are encrypted by default and no one besides you and the people in your conversation can read them. If you make an account on Ita Hearts, you can also communicate with other people who may have their accounts on other homeservers (kind of like email!).
