I watched the new star wars finally.
Liked it, it’s a fun movie, i think that the editing could be better? by that i mean, too many cuts? i went with my friend and his girlfriend, the movie is loud so, these cuts were happening so often followed by so many stinging noises that she was getting jump-scared by it often, and, it’s just a big back and forth of characters, i think that we could’ve followed Rose and Finn’s sidequest entirely and then Reis and Luke’s shenanigans for a while without that many cuts, i dunno, its just, weird.
I saw most of it coming, it’s weird cause, its a twist on the formula but because i know the formula it’s easy to see it coming, Kylo Ren himself really had a sort of arc that reminded me of this one sith from that discarded draft of the first star wars movie, the one that has a comic based on it. Won’t talk much about it for spoilers, but honestly? if you ever seen all the other star wars movies and has a knack for writing, you’ll see most of it coming.
I have to say tho’, too much comedy, see, some of it i tought it was fine, especially the fake-out ship, which was fully a neat visual gag, but it kinda undermines the tone at times, it’s like the disney is popping up and going ‘’ho-ho this is getting a little too serious, heres a laugh kidos’’ , it’s somehow even more than VII, and i kinda dislike that, its kinda invasive and cartoony at times, but hey, i chuckled anyways, its just, gonna wait for a fan edit akin to this one EPVII edit that edited most of the jokes out for a more consistent less silly. It’s the only thing i really have against it, its fine as it is, but, it’s a thing that i hate mostly because i’m so tired of it from the marvel movies, it’s got old is all i’m saying.
Overall it’s a fine movie, Rose Tico was hella cute, kylo ren is still attractive to me, and the actress to Rose should be hired as an live action for Overwatches Mei, her character (Rose Tico) is really Mei like already, just saying, it’s a good match.
