One of my earliest designs, the concept of a flying cat has really stuck around! I liked that pokemon introduced the idea of invasive species so I decided to incorporate that here, fitting for an island region. These mons started developing fur patterns to mimic birds. I imagine they actually use the ear/wings to glide from tree to tree, still able to hunt like a normal cat. Their subtle griffin inspiration also ties them into the region's mythology theme!
