True Colors Will Bleed
Rating: T+
Chapters: 2/?
The year is 2031. Humanity no longer exists. Vampires dominate the world. What is left of the human race remains locked away in farming facilities where humans are simply cattle. It has been this way for decades. It is the way of life.
However, when a small herd of cattle escapes, a small team of elite hunters are sent to retrieve the runaway humans.

Hoping to finally post the second chapter of my Carmilla Fanfic tonight. C’mon self! We can do it!
this show ruined me
My take on s-assy-girl‘s Assassin’s Creed AU, with modern assassin Carmilla.
Karnstein
Interesting little thing. From what she could recall, the girl was rather foolishly brave. Had gotten a number of people killed in her quest for the ultimate, happy, stupid little life. She could recall the Dean’s sneers about the girl –moppet, as she had been called. Danny could see it now, as she refused to run away even as Danny advanced.
The question surprised her, and Danny paused if only for a moment, head tilted to the side. “A couple of nights now. Why—” And she finally cleared the distance between them, backing Laura into a wall and trapping her with both arms on either side of her body. For all intents and purposes, it was an easy enough snare to escape should Laura wish to. “—-do you like it?”
A couple of nights ago. That must mean that the Dean must have turned Danny shortly after she had fled with Carmilla and Lafontaine. It also meant that Danny hadn’t been dead for too long either. Laura didn’t know whether to feel relieved that that second thought or not.
Before Laura could respond, the rapidly diminishing space between them disappeared as her back pressed against the cold wall, both of Danny’s hands coming to rest against the wall on both sides of her body. A small part of mind was screaming that she should have ran. That she shouldn’t allow Danny to get this close.
But...but it was Danny. How was she suppose to turn her back on her friend? On the person who had died helping her. Something was wrong with Danny. Laura could sense that something wasn’t right. But she wasn’t going to run away. Not anymore.
“Like it?” Laura glanced at the hands on either side of her before returning her focus to the redhead’s face. “What? No. I mean, I love the fact that you’re not dead-dead, but I didn’t want you to die at all. I...I’m sorry.”
Watching the fall of the first – almost – hopeful smile Laura had worn in weeks felt like the demise of something bigger. She’d been the one to start the rebellion on Maman’s fully waged war. She’d been the one to make countless mistakes and battle for their resolution. And now what? They were stuck, cowering in some haunted, cadaverous room underground for the foreseeable future. Waiting for a change in the weather.
Waiting for life or for death. It was hard to tell which would come through first. Carmilla gave a shrug. Lowered her head, keeping her eyes on her desperate little human with the hope that perhaps the spark that lit up her eyes might not die after all. “Forever isn’t a guarantee,” she sighed. “It’s… just waiting for radio silence until we’re in the clear. And I just got you back, poptart.”
She poked at the bag of breadcrumbs. She had spent the last hour ripping apart little cakes that they had found in the vending machine down here. An hour ago her idea had been excellent. Now it sounded stupid and pointless. Of course there was no way breadcrumbs could get them out of this mess.
“Well it feels like we’re gonna be trapped down here forever,” Laura gave the bag another gentle poke before looking over at Carmilla. “I mean, it’s not like I don’t like spending all this alone time with you. I do. It’s just...I feel like I abandoned everyone again. I created this huge mess and then we just bolted.”
Carm
Laura just couldn’t stand it anymore. Sitting there, watching old VHS tapes for days on end was driving her nuts. They needed to get out of these underground tunnels. They had friends topside who needed them. Especially since the Dean may not be actually dead-dead.
The tiny brunette let out a huff and rose onto her feet. “I can’t just sit here anymore. I’m finding a way out of here.”
Random nap time was fun.

Breaking away from the hug, she crossed her arms over her chest, pursed her lips, and furrowed her brows. Features too harsh. Too calculated. Ok. Maybe she wasn’t letting Raggedy Ann have complete control…but she’d let her believe so.
❝ We couldn’t just abandon everyone again, Laura. Kirsch. Mel. Everyone. I thought we decided we’d stop running. ❞
Laura’s smile fell as Perry’s words hit home. Perry was right. She had decided to stop running, yet she had ended up running again. “Yeah. Running away kinda defeated the whole purpose of not running away.” Even though Carmilla didn’t give much of an option after she had killed Vordenburg.
“Did you find everyone?” Laura perked up slightly. “Is everyone safe?”
& laura:
Breadcrumbs. Surely this was the worst idea anyone could ever hope to pick up from some old Grimm fairy tale. The worst and the most idiotic, if one remembered the nature of such stories and their twisted origins. Carmilla simply shook her head, face half hidden in her palm.
“So we can attract demonic rodents and hopefully find some sweet little old cannibal to help us find our way out of this place? You’ve got to be kidding. We should stay here, shortcake. It’s not safe out there.”
Well...when she put it that way. Laura lowered the bag of breadcrumbs, her proud smile falling. While her intention was to use the breadcrumbs to keep them from getting lost while exploring, the idea of something unfriendly following them was a very solid possibly.
“Well we can’t stay trapped down here forever,” Laura sighed, setting the bag of breadcrumbs aside. “Do we still have any more chocolate?”
