Why did it take me this long to realize all of Undyne’s attacks hinge on her having no depth perception.
I mean, in the chase sequence, she never aims directly at the player, only where she thinks the player might step.
Whenever she catches the player in this sequence, she barrages them instead of making straight line attacks, like how you might use a grenade instead of a gun when you can’t pin your enemy’s location.
In her main boss fight, she uses green to pin the player, so she doesn’t have to guess where they are.
I don’t know. A lot of ideas just suddenly lined up for me.
Can I take a minute to talk about art books? ‘Cause in my professional opinion, we don’t get enough of them.
These are the only two I currently own, but I’m planning on starting a collection.
In short, art books are books that catalog the art, concepts, and making of a visual piece of media. I’ve had these two books for a while, and there is so much to look at that I still haven’t finished.
Just look at these concept and character designs!!! Like, I didn’t know Kiki could have been a red head!
We really need books like these for all movies and shows. I would pay serious money for an Iron Lung art book.
Lemme just share a few more of my favorites.
I can hardly believe that I get to own these. And I can imagine art books being really good merch for smaller shows and movies!
I got Kiki’s art book online and I think I got Apothecary Diaries art book at either Barns & Noble or Books-A-Million.
My goodness, I had to stop drawing right before I give him highlights, cuz Kinger just looks so dead inside without them, and it’s so fricking funny for some reason.
For reference, this is a sketch with them. He’s not gonna be soulless the whole vid.
I was thinking about how in some series’, especially TNG, Poker is a pretty popular game for crew bonding and whatnot. But they don’t really use money (ignoring credits and latinum). So, what might they bet instead if they don’t just want to play for fun? Time. Especially if you’re on a ship, time is the most limited resource.
I can imagine a group like in Lower Decks betting their timeslot in a certain lab or holodeck away. Currency never really disappears; it just changes.
So, I saw somethin’ on Pinterest called “UnderSail” and I fell in love. Here’s a headcannon for Blooky.
From what I understand, everyone in UnderSail has some kind of sea/ocean theme. Sans and Papyrus are pirates, Undyne is a mermaid, Flowey is an anemone, etc. I just thought it was neat.
Holy shed, I just had a dream that ROTMNT had a second movie and I have to talk about it before I forget.
The entire plot centered around the boys and splinter figuring out their mind powers, and the implications of being able to essentially mind meld with each other. (I don’t remember if that’s how it worked in the show, but that’s how it worked in my dream.) I think they were all in their early 20s.
There was a subplot about Casey Jr trying to get to know his mom, Cassandra, without telling her he’s her future son, because that’s just weird and complicated.
It ended with the boys coming to terms with the fact that they all just have some psychic sense of each other. (Cuz that can get annoying when you’re trying to do something, but your entire family knows where you are.) They start using it for evil. I.E. Pranking each other and freaking out their enemies by showing up whenever one of them is in trouble. Casey eventually told Cassandra he’s her son and was surprised she took it so well. She wanted to take him under her wing, but he was concerned about her teaching methods.
This blog is not a dream journal, but I felt like some other people who are better at writing than me should know. Apparently we missed out on a second movie. Do with that what you will.
YOOOO I might have spent too much time on this. At least it was fun. Six character challenge:
*more* for closeups.
We got Donnie, Entrapta, Papyrus, Julian, Data, Gary, and Mooncake (So technically seven characters).
Some slightly hidden things:
• Behind Donnie is the Hamato Clan symbol.
• Behind Entrapta is the Heart of Etheria. (Correct me if I’m wrong. I haven’t seen She-ra in forever.)
• Behind Papyrus, the WingDings should say, “My son, who is that?” I went back to check it after I drew it, and it was different, but I’m too lazy to fix it rn.
• Behind Julian is a schematic of Deep Space 9.
• Behind Data is a schematic of the Enterprise D.
• Behind Gary and Mooncake is the Earth.
• Donnie is signing “H+Hairtie” in reference to Hatsune Miku. (Because of Entrapta’s hair.)
• The Japanese text beside Papyrus says approximately, “What did (you) say?” (It’s a very informal form of asking someone to repeat themselves.) I think it’s either Alphys or Undyne. I haven’t decided.
• Also, something kinda fun: I tried to imply Data could understand Mooncake without any pretext.
• Plus plus and also, all their names are my headcannons for their handwriting styles.
Holy shed, I spent a lot of time on this. If anyone is interested, I’ll make a post about the Procreate brushes I use.
Procreate got a comic brush update, and I got so excited I made a new character. Her name is Molly.
I made the second drawing cuz someone said she looks like she gets into fights, and I said yeah that’s fair. I have next to no idea how someone gets teeth like that, but my teeth are kinda F-ed up too, so I wouldn’t question it.
