Every couple of months the watcher obsession grabs me and I have to make art

One of my favourite things regarding tma's "The Fears can't be separated, part of them always bled into the others" is when characters aligned with a certain Fear show mannerisms or preferences otherwise tied to other Fears.

The eastest example is the way Jon behaves towards both Peter Lukas in the Lonely and Helen in her domain when he realises that they can't do anything to him. He gets fairly predator-like, way more threatening, he genuinely reads as malicious at times, both the way he tells Peter that he can see where he is ["I wouldn't try to leave if I were you. I can see you now, I can find you wherever you go"] and how he tells Helen that he's going to kill her, and his words afterwards ["I'm not scared of you" "Helen, was that... a lie?"]. He gets so Hunt coded that it's honestly quite scary, and I doubt anyone would enjoy being on the receiving end of his words in that moment.

Other examples are in general how characters take advantage of other Fear domains to boost the effect of their own. For example Nikola telling Jon not to turn on the light, with the scary effect being both "trapped in a room with murder mannequin that is probably grotesque and horrifying" and "in a room with murder mannequin I can't see since it's dark". When you can't see what you're facing but you know whatever is in front of you is scary, your brain will create any sort of horrible mental images for it that are probably way scarier than it actually is, plus the fact that you can't see where it is and so it might jump at your throat at any moment doesn't help, so it just combines the Stranger and the Dark fairly well (and a bit of the Spiral). Or, another example: nobody can tell me the Unknowing is not also Spiral coded. You quite literally can't understand anything, can't know anything, everything is wrong. That's not only the Stranger, that's the Spiral too, but the main one, the focus remains the Stranger, that uses the twisted perception of reality to be even more uncanny.

Of course there are a lot more examples if you go look for them, these are just the ones I remembered off the top of my head, but I find them neat soo :3

A mirror where every time you look at it, something is slightly off about your reflection, not noticeable at first but as time goes on it slowly changes into a completely different person.

After you look at it enough times, people stop being able to recognise you. Your family is terrified by the stranger in their home that They Did Not Let In, your friends are concerned by the random person that keeps trying to talk to them. You look in the mirror, and don’t know who it is staring back.

Something that I wish was explored more in Watcher Grian content is the fact that the Watchers were always meant to represent the viewers. We all count ourselves among the Watchers' ranks! We are not just passive observers, but rather active players within and without the story on account of that very observance. You, dear reader, are the cosmic horror that your favorite characters are fearful of, the eye they always feel staring at them behind their back. You, fanartist, are the one who forces them to bend to your will, who forces them into impossible situations and laughs at their suffering. You are a Watcher.

I have seen some people who are connecting the Champions in Pantheon SMP to the TMA Dread powers and I would love to join in on the fun because I am so normal about this Minecraft SMP so I will push my other interests onto it and no one can stop me.

Based off the first episodes and perspectives I have watched these are my current thoughts on a few Champions based on what comes to mind because I can’t stop thinking about this

First, I thought of Pan!Cleo as an Avatar of The Lonely I have not watched Cleo’s POV yet (I WILL get to it) but based on her interactions with other players she seems less sociable and more on her own not willing to ally with others because she believes they will all have to betray each other in the end. At the start of the episode Cleo says to Drift and Pyro that it is better to not get to know each other than have hesitations in the arena and that she would rather not ally with anyone. This is all up to interpretation and will all likely change in the future I just need to yap.

My other thoughts are for Pan!Scott he is just giving me the Spiral vibes I don’t fully know why. Scott seems to be keeping a lot of his abilities to himself and in my brain I keep imagining giving him spiral like hair if I were to draw him. I am going to keep connecting these when I watch more POV’s later. Let me know if I got anything wrong this is just my interpretation :)
