Hi Lauren! Youāre such an amazing writer, especially for Louis in particular, I was wondering if you could write us a little Clouis drabble where they finally say I love you to each other? ā¤ļø
Hi! Thatās very sweet of you to say! This isnāt something Iād normally do, but thatās a cute lil idea. I took a quick stab at it! (Also, Iām co-opting the termĀ ādrabbleā for most things I write from now on)āāāItās around dinner time. The sky is a pinkish red. The autumn air is crisp. And Clementine and Louis are sitting up on the wall, looking out into the quiet, yellowing woods. Itās her turn to keep watch, but he figured she could use some company. And he just finished a great story.
āWait, you did what?ā Clementine glances at Louis with an incredulous grin.
āShot two of them. At the same time.ā He smiles as he fires fingers guns into the distance. āBang bang.ā
Clementine laughs at that, āHas anyone ever told you youāre a terrible liar?ā
He shrugs, āeh, once or twice.ā
āWell this is the third time, then.ā
āWhat?!ā Louis smirks, āyou saying you donāt believe me?ā
She playfully punches his arm, āNot even a little.ā
āWhat if I promise?ā
She rolls her eyes.
They both laugh until it becomes quiet again. Louis looks out into the trees with a lazy romantic grin and a distant look in his eyes. Then, three words leave his lips in a dreamy hazeā¦
āI love you, Clem.ā Louis chuckles, shaking his head. Suddenly he sits up straighter, wide-eyed, āā¦like you.ā
āWhat?ā Clem raises a brow, fighting a grin.
āI like⦠you. A lot. Is what I meant.ā
āUh huh.ā
āBecause youāre so funny.ā
āGo on.āĀ
āAndā have good fashion sense.ā
āReally?ā
āLikeā yeah! Iā mean, that jacket? That ā¦hat? Beautiful. Original. Like, what isnāt to lov--like about someone who, uhmā¦?ā
āHey Louis?ā Clem cuts him off, grinning.
He sputters off with a relieved sigh, āMhm, yeah?ā
She leans in and kisses him gently, Ā āI love you, too.āHe pauses a moment before looking her in the eyes again.Ā
āI love you, too.ā
āThatās what Iā?ā
āāthatās⦠what you just said.ā He cringes, realizing, Ā and shakes his head shyly, ābut still. Itās true.ā
Their faces linger close together for a moment longer. She looks at him with a playful smirk, āpromise?ā
He rests his hand on hers, smiling softly, āI promise.ā
