So post game is a thing in Sword and Shield!! Basically, after beating Leon, thr credits roll and what you do is the following:

1. Go to Leon and Hop's house- in Leon's room there is a Pokeball (level 5 Charizard) that Leon leaves for the player

2. Go back to the Slumbering Weald, all the way to the spot where the ruins are (where you got the Rusted Sword/Shield for the final battle)

3. Hop will be there. Interact with Hop and he'll battle you

3. Sonia shows up and gives you her book which is a Key Item

4. 2 people (as shown in the pic I took of my Switch, playing Pokemon Sword), will show up and claim they are the new kings of Galar

5. They challenge you to a pokemon battle after stealing the rusted sword and shield from you. Fight either Swordward or Shielbert (no I am not making this up) to get one of them back.

6. The one Hop loses to will run off with the piece, thus prompting the post game story-line

I believe this story line is also how you obtain the Sword/Shield dog pokemon since you don't get them in the main storyline.
