We never violated the Prime Directive at my old school…
I did the thing…
Yes this is exactly what I had in mind
Reblog if you violated the prime directive at your old school

frank: this might as well happen
ray: desperately struggling towards gerard and getting practically carried off, still playing the whole time

A little background as to why the Markiplier fandom is panicking about The Edge of Sleep.
So YEARS ago. Mark was in a podcast called The Edge of Sleep, which was adapted into a TV series... Which was never released
Until
Mark made a movie adaptation of a video game, Iron Lung. He's put all his energy into this film, directing, producing, editing, even starring in it. the movie is done, and he's working to get it released in theaters.
We, the public don't know why, but we know that some doors have been locked on the release of Iron Lung, however some big wigs somewhere have promised that if his popularity alone can put Edge of Sleep in the TOP TEN a lot of doors will open for Iron Lung. He wasn't allowed to even say where it would premiere, nor was it advertised AT ALL
So now, Edge of Sleep has shadow dropped on Amazon Prime in the US. Three days BEFORE they even told Mark it would air. In order to get this man's work out in theaters this thing has to get to the top ten by word of mouth alone.
So. Watch Edge of Sleep! It's an apocalyptic horror. There are some mild gore warnings (blood, knife mutilation, brain dissection, self harm). Even if you can play it in the background and let it run just so it gets views thatd be helpful.
Stick it to the Hollywood Bigwigs! Show them YouTubers can have an audience! Open some doors for creative people trying to show their work to a bigger audience!
New Book Project
Life has thrown me a curve ball. I recently lost my job, so I am taking the opportunity to publish my first romance novel on Amazon Kindle. I've been working on this idea for awhile, but now while I have the time while searching for a new job, I figure why not try doing the thing I've always wanted to do. For anyone willing, beneath the cut is the prologue. Any comments on what anyone thinks is much appreciated!! If there is any interest, I will even give away chapter 1 for free. After that, everything else will be ready when I publish!
wow millennials are glued to their i-phones and laptops so much they cant even be bothered robbing in person anymore!!! maybe these trust fund babies should stop phishing credit cards while sitting on their butts and go out there and put some elbow grease into their thievery!
I know exactly what happened. Because it happened to me.
I trained for years to be a con artist. I told my friends and family that I wanted to be a magician, but that was just a cover for why I was constantly practicing sleight of hand.
In junior high and high school, I would shop lift a bunch of candy on my way to school, sell it to kids at the morning break, and use that money to run a crooked poker game at lunch.
Finally, when I was 19 or 20, I felt I was ready, and I picked my first pocket. I was on the bus, bumped a guy as I passed down the aisle, got his wallet, super clean.
In the wallet was several hundred dollars. A huge first score, I had been hoping for a couple twenties. I sat there looking at the, like, 400 bucks, thinking.
That was my rent at the time. We were both on the bus. It was likely his rent too. Lord knows the only reason to carry that much cash on the bus is you’re on your way to pay a bill. We were both on the bus, you know? That’s not someone I was comfortable stealing from.
I tapped him on the shoulder and told him “hey i think you dropped this” and gave it back to him with all the money still in it. It was the first and last time I ever picked a pocket.
Picking a rich person’s pocket is a loosing game. They probably have credit cards and not cash, those credit cards probably have the best anti-theft measures their bank can provide, and you probably can’t get close enough to those people to pick their pockets unless you’re already rich yourself.
The people who’s pockets you can reliably pick are the people around you. The people who are also on the bus, who are in this same shitty situation with you.
As wealth inequality becomes more drastic picking pockets has very clearly become “stealing from other poor people” and it’s not satisfying. I want to steal from Google and Apple and Fox and Facebook and General Mills and Hershey and Tesla. Not the person next to me.
Wow. This post went from funny to a life lesson in a way I wasn’t expecting, amd I’m not sorey at all.
See, unlike the capitalist elite, common criminals have a sense of morality and empathy.
It's my 14 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
Wow... My sometimes active blog is 14. Not that it matters but that's pretty cool.

Listen. This is what people are talking about when they say that if you gave people a fucking UBI, folks would still work. Even “menial” work is beloved by various people if it’s given the respect it deserves and folks dont need to worry about - um - starving to death and dying of illness?
I legitimately love delivering pizzas! If it were sustainable i wouldn’t mind at all doing it for the rest of my life! One of my best friends absolutely loves cleaning, and the only reason she quit cleaning professionally is that she was sick of the ways she was treated. My stepfather has been a carpenter and construction worker for 30 years, despite being a highly qualified graphic designer and architect, bc the man just fuckin loves construction work. For every “menial/undesireable” job available, there is someone who is happy to work it, if not for the stigma and need to survive. And for the truly awful ones? Like slaughterhouse cleanup, sewer maintenance, roadkill pickup, etc? With UBI they could almost all be mechanized, saving people from having to do grueling and dangerous jobs they really don’t have to do.
There are even people who will do those jobs because they recognize that they need to get done. Those people may not love the job itself but they take great pride in doing something that needs to be done.
People don’t just work for free doing jobs they love. If there’s a niche there will always be someone willing to fill it.
I talk shit but I actually don’t genuinely truly HATE retail, what I hate is how people (customers and employers) use, abuse, overwork, and generally treat the employees like shit
If I could have reasonable hours and accommodations for my limitations and be paid enough to survive without being asked to do 25 jobs advertised as 1 job and had UBI to ensure I could leave if it was too much/I was being mistreated/taken advantage of by employers looking to overwork employees to make more money I’d be totally happy to work retail as long as I physically could
When I worked retail, my favorite part was working in the stock room cuz it’s like playing real life Jenga
Were it not for my disability and if it paid enough and I wasn’t treated like crap I am not kidding I would be happy to work at a movie theater probably for the rest of my life, I loved it that much.
Trust me, for every menial job that “no one would want” there is a person who would LOVE to do it. Forget that “I don’t dream of labor” stuff in a perfect world people would still work because there are people who genuinely enjoy working; It’s being FORCED to do it in shitty conditions for crap pay lest we starve to death or end up unhoused that’s the problem, not work itself.
One of the best jobs I ever had was cemetery landscape maintenance.
It all comes down to this: People don’t mind working. It isn’t work that people dread or are sick of. It’s working conditions.
Pay people well, respect them (and don’t allow customers to disrespect them), accommodate their needs, and people will work their asses off and more often than not do it happily. Work itself is not demeaning or soul-draining. Jobs don’t have to be that way.
I loved making pizzas! I liked getting a bunch of tickets with different toppings and trying to do them fast and well and trying to get them out of the oven and into boxes and slicing them up evenly.
But my boss never stocked ingredients, we were always out of stuff, the hygene was terrible. He would come over to my nice pizza and WITH HIS BARE HANDS reorganise all the toppings to remove pieces of pepperoni like he would go out of business if we put 10 pieces on instead of 8 or whatever.
I loved when I was a baker but my store kept turning to more ready made products and the way we were treated made me lose that love because it took me too long to get away from it. To which I learned that I love data entry but the job I have makes me have several hats on top of the data entry. I know I would be so happy if I could do just that and have it be sustainable.
My Biggest pet peeve when it comes to dating sites is when a dude says "you can ask me anything," when you were already the one carrying the conversation in the first place. It's the biggest way to tell me that 1] you're only interested in yourself and 2] you're too lazy to put in any effort.
I do realize that perhaps they're just trying to be open. Though in my experience it's mostly been because they hope you'll ask something sexual and/or they have nothing of real value to converse about.
Then they wonder why so many women are enjoying their book-boyfriends instead.
the problem with having a decade old tumblr blog is that there are posts on it from a decade ago
i’ve become a completely different person like 5 separate times since making those posts and there are STILL people finding them somehow
