I have moved all my HP content to sideblogs:

@myhinnyarchive Hinny content and Ginny content. Hinny and Ginny positivity/defense, fics, art, meta/analysis, etc. Updated multiple times per day.

@loudslowandsoftbird Fic recs. Mostly Hinny focused ones plus a few Romione focused with side Hinny. Irregular posting schedule. There may be various non canon ships, but any Romione centric fics will have Hinny there too as either side or co-main ship. Hinny will always be endgame. None of this nonsense of calling a fic Hinny only to have them break up in the last chapter (unless they get back together in the sequel). If they're with anyone else, they will still end up together. HINNY WILL ALWAYS BE ENDGAME. I mean that.

@toeragsanonymous Jily and Marauders content. Semi regular posting schedule. I try to keep stuff in the queue, but it might run dry from time to time. James positivity posts as well. James with Lily only. Solo fanart of them plus Jily with baby Harry and Jily lives content.

@myhpartarchive what it says in the name. My archive so don't expect a lot of non canon ships or woobifying of death eaters. Vintage content when I can find it. Updated multiple times per day.

You know, I didn't mean to start a Jily sideblog. I just kept finding great Jily content when I was looking for Hinny content and I decided to make somewhere else to stick it.

Also, people who bash James and/or Ginny often do so in the same ways and for the same reasons so this sideblog was only natural. (A common reason is because they're butthurt shippers - sorry not sorry.)

Besides, I like Harry too much to see people bash his parents.

to be honest there has never been a fictional character i’ve actually wanted to date. like. i want them to date each other. i don’t want myself as a person to be involved in this scenario whatsoever. what would i add to this narratively? what’s my thematic purpose in the narrative? immersion breaking.

I dislike the common assertion that the only reason someone would enjoy a canon ship is out of some sense of obligation, or that the only reason they wouldn't prefer a non-canon ship instead is because they simply never thought of it, or didn't think it was allowed. Wild as it sounds, sometimes the writers actually choose good characters to end up in a relationship with each other, and it's not as uncommon as you think.

Please when writing fics, please tag the side ships as well that will make an appearance. Just put them into additional tags or something if you are worried about clogging tags

Because it can be rather annoying when reading a long fic that you enjoy and suddenly half way in your absolute NoTP turns up and plays a major role. Since if I had known that my NoTP was going to in that fic, I would have not read it to begin with

AO3 needs three categories of relationships:

Main ships: the focus of the story and endgame.

Background ships: what OP was talking about.

Deprecated ships: ships that are bashed in one way or another, including ships that exist solely for the author to break them up, are depicted as unhealthy in a non canon manner, one sided, unrequited, stalking, etc.

Fandom Problem #11,097:

In latest years I've seen fandom art be mostly free in everything to half of it being paywalled. 10ish years ago fancomics and nsfw art were available for free almost everywhere. Today a lot of fancomics and nsfw art are still posted on free platforms, but most of it is in some site where you have to pay to see it. Which is something that creators have a right to do I guess, but it makes me worry that in the future even the sfw fanworks will end up being monetised.

Fanworks being free is part of what protects them from the IP holders. This is a bit of fandom history that some people forget. Paywalling your fanworks or otherwise asking for payment is inviting the corporate lawyers to sue you. Even asking for donations is legally risky.

That's why AO3 militantly enforces that rule. Getting payment for fanworks legally endangers all of fandom.

Lily and Sirius are the only characters who use the insult "toerag" in canon:

Headcanon that Sirius started using the phrase because of Lily (uh, ignoring the less than ideal comment in which he uses it…). People who spend a lot of time together often talk like each other and catch phrases from each other etc.

● HP women being hated and bashed by misogynistic fans everywhere.

As someone who's been a lover of traditional folk music from the British Isles for several decades, one thing I've learned is that "True Love" didn't always mean what you think it means. In the older songs, "true love" is not some mystical quality, some type of connection that is magically better than other Loves. No. A love that is "true" merely means that your Love is "true TO YOU." "True" as in faithful and loyal and trustworthy. A lover who will stand by you and with you no matter what comes. True the way a good sword is True. True the way a good knight is loyal. The contrast is "False Love," which is a lover who betrays you, who cannot be trusted.

"True Love" isn't something you find, it's a vow and a choice that you make, every day, to BE TRUE.
