I feel like lunter is everything huntlow fans want huntlow to be.

Luz was the first person to show Hunter kindness. She led to him leaving the Emperor's Coven by discovering what Emperor Belos is really like with him (so she made him 'betray' Emperor Belos, just like Evelyn). Like she even offered to help him leave the Emperors Coven too. She introduced Hunter to Flapjack. She's like a perfect parallel of Evelyn. In Thanks to Them she even dresses as her idea of a witch while Hunter dresses as his idea of a human.

There's also the fact that they both lack the ability to perform magic without a palisman or glyphs. so there's an actual 'half a witch' parallel with them unlike with huntlow where Willow is literally one of the most powerful witches on the boiling isles. She had longer to build a bond with him. It seems they actually care about each other in a way that isn't just a childhood crush/blushing at each other sometimes (it's mostly just Hunter blushing too). It feels like they have a better and more developed platonic relationship to build a romantic relationship off of.

But with the way huntlow fans talk about huntlow you'd think I'm talking about huntlow, not lunter.

Flapjack dying served no purpose whatsoever.

It added nothing to the plot tbh. If you removed him dying nothing would have changed.

Personally I don’t think they should’ve added tbh, with the amount of time they were given it was super over ambitious.

Maybe if they had more time it would’ve been more developed. But alas that’s not what happened.

Idk it genuinely just irks me.

Belos possessing Hunter was literally only for shock value. You could remove it entirely and the majority of s3 wouldn't have to be changed.

Like seriously. The only reason it was added was for shock value. It serves literally NO purpose in any of the characters stories. We never even see Hunter deal with this trauma either. Like sure it's bc of the show being cut short but then why put in such a traumatic event if he's barely going to even speak for the rest of the season making it impossible for it to get even slightly resolved or even acknowledged?

The only way it gets resolved is the fact that he's fine in the timeskip. But that's just really lazy and I don't understand why you'd give a character so much more unnecessary trauma if you can't even address it in the slightest. They already had such limited time. Why did they spend it giving more trauma to the already very traumatised character who was literally JUST starting to heal?

It just feels so weird to give a character such trauma and then push them to the side to give more focus on like. Making a bully side character be even more of a bad person and then sorta redeeming them slightly but not really.

⚠️ A little rant about Hunt//low!! If you’re a Hunt//low fan, I advise you scroll pass this. If you still want to read, feel free.

Ever since I watched toh, I never really enjoyed/liked Hntlw. One of the many reasons why is how Willow never showed any romantic attraction towards Hunter, she treats Hunter just like the other Hexsquad members until FTF.

The reciprocation of Hunter’s feelings towards her was so sudden and out of the blue 😭?? It irks me how it all happened so suddenly, I know it’s probably because season 3 was cut short, but they could’ve made Willow show at least some reciprocation in TTT.

The other thing that annoys me is how Gus is almost always pushed to the side just for Hntlw. A recent example of this is: Willow’s breakdown scene in FTF, don’t get me wrong, I truly believe that Willow needed this scene. It could’ve been done better though. In my opinion, I think the person comforting Willow should have been Gus or Amity, hell, why not Hunter AND Gus comfort her at the same time. Seeing Gus get pushed to the side like this just for a hntlw scene is one of the cons I have for this show.

Adding on to that, I don’t get why Willow would try to cheer Hunter up by showing a picture of his DEAD BEST FRIEND and him together after he recently lost the guy. When she found out she made things a bit worse she runs away, crying. Causing Hunter to feel even more like bad.

Honestly, the writing of the ship has come to the point where it sort of makes both Willow and Hunter bland/boring as characters. It’s sad to see this happen, especially since their dynamic has so much potential at the start.

I’ve tried so desperately to like hntlw so I could enjoy more toh fan content but every time I try, I fail. If you like hntlw then that’s awesome! And if it brings you comfort then that’s great! Even though I don’t enjoy the ship, I’m happy that you like the ship.

Respect people’s opinions on ships, you cannot change their mindset. I think the fandom has to hear that more often. All of the things I said are personal opinions, if you do not agree then that is fine! You do you. <3💗 ^_^

I hate the way Eda and King never get as much attention as Amity or Hunter do, despite them being literally major characters. Yeah, Eda was a bit revealed, sure, but she never was as revealed as Amity or Huntlow were, not even to mention King, whose story was barely revealed and that's sad, cause the main trio isn't Luz, Amity and Hunter, it's Luz, Eda and King. I just want better for them.

I feel like I’m the only one who remembers that the Collector is the source of the draining spell, and maybe the Owl Beast curse, and we’re letting them off way too easy just because they’re so cute and lonely. If the Collector does get redeemed, they need to learn that their actions have consequences and they should work to prove they deserve forgiveness.

I hope Hunter and the Collector interact with each other in the finale, it would be interesting since they're both kids that believed themselves to be the closest to Belos only to find out that Belos was just using them the whole time.

Honestly, in any other case I’d be fine with Huntlow or something like Huntlow becoming canon, but in this case I just can’t get behind it when Hunter already has so much more chemistry with Luz. It just feels so redundant to force a romance onto him with a character he’s barely got any chemistry with that drags down both their character arcs when you’ve got a perfectly good dynamic right there.

I don't think final ep will be good. I think it will be 6/10.

Listen I love TOH but previous episodes built up too many plotlines that just can't be resolved well in just one long finale. And the whole thing with Collector also being a threat is just kinda bad. If writers knew that the show got cut then they should've removed plotlines that would take space and time. But for some reason they just added Collector, that out of nowhere conflict with Kikimora and Boscha teaming up, we still haven't seen full Belos and Philip backstory, and show made Luz act ooc and make same mistake of not telling others the truth only to drag out the plot till she gets her palisman.

So that's why I think finale will be a disappointment.

Skara deserved so, so much better, and I hate how the show dropped the ball on her.

I get it, she’s a minor character, the show getting screwed by Disney meant that they couldn’t put a bunch of time into her, I get it. But they randomly make her friends with Willow with no explanation. Not even a single line about how ‘Skara used to bully me, but she left Boscha’s thumb and became cool.’ Just… she’s now on the Entrails. And both she and Viney could have been removed from the team and nothing would have really changed aside from how many people play the sport. They just decide Skara’s Willow’s friend now, which I would have loved actually, if they actually explained even a lick of it, or even had them do anything together to show why Willow’s cool with her.

And then FTF just completely wastes her. Her (former?) best friend is ruling the school and has everyone under her thumb. She’s obsessing over three friends she lost, two from the apocalypse and one because she’s a bully. But she doesn’t try to get Skara back as a friend, or keep her on a tighter leash. She doesn’t even acknowledge Skara at all, as if them ever being friends was something the writers just sort of completely forgot about. If it was her who served as the guide in New Hexside, imagine how much more interesting the drama would be: you could have Skara call Boscha out instead of Amity, give her a genuine moment of pathos as Boscha comes to grips with how she pushes all her friends away. Instead we get a joke about how Matt’s stupid name is slightly less stupid then we thought. At that point, just make her a puppet with Cat and Amelia. Then Boscha might care about her.

Skara could have been so much more interesting and so much bigger then the adorable joke side character she was in season one, and the show gives itself chances to do so, but then it just throws it aside. Which sucks. Skara deserved better.

The collector isn't very interesting anymore. I was hoping for a childish, yet scary antagonist.

After the "pizza bagels" scene, I just lost all interest.

The way the show has been treating Philip's character is literally the biggest frustration I have.

Listen, I love this show and respect the writers, but at the same time: how do you manage to make such an interesting and important character and completely sideline him for...Hunter.

Hunter's concept is interesting and I wish we got something more interesting from his story, but instead it's just constantly torturing him for the sake of it. That's the worst way to approach a character who's a cult survivor! At this point they should've just left him in the human realm with Vee because he's so exhausting to watch now.

Philip's story has so many blanks and holes in it that you could call it a net. It's so vague that even the mind pictures don't give us a clear enough vision or cohesive timeline to figure out what he's been doing for 400 years besides maybe a little bit of terrorism, nephew murder, and eating palisman soup. How are you going to make this dude responsible for all of the awful shit in the Isles and then never give him any true focus in the story outside of allusions by Hunter? That's just downright bad writing.

Fandom's obsession and whining for more Wittebane tale (Caleb, Phillip, Evelyn) is getting annoying.

FTF "so-called critic" that said Willow and Collector's screen time are better reduced for more Wittebane tale truly pissed me off. Except for I guess one-line confirmation that Evelyn is a Clawthorne, that was already incredibly obvious anyway, there's no need to waste screen time for re-telling a story that happened like 500 years in the past. We already have pictures. We already have Masha's story telling. Belos already told us his motive many times and it's not like he will get redeemed. No one fricking care that Hunter is a grimwalker, and to be frank we already know that Hunter (and Luz)'s fear is not gonna happen because their family and friends will accept them anyway. So, my "representation friendly fandom but I can smell your white bias from miles away", why do you want more detailed graphic tale of a white man getting killed in the past? Why don't you give more interest for King and Collector's struggle as the last of their kinds? Why do you think that an incredibly strong plus size Asian girl main character getting more depth is waste of time while personally for me 20 minutes of Belos fake-possessing a rotten grimwalker is the true waste of time?

The Willow meltdown scene I feel was incredibly mishandled.

It should have been Gus or better yet Amity who helps her out of it. Gus because duh, he’s her best friend and we get a callback to Labyrinth Runners with the breathing technique. Or Amity which helps resolve their conflict in a more meaningful way since I feel it was brushed to the side.

I love Hunter but he should’ve been fighting Kikimora with his found family. Instead we get what should’ve been a meaningful character moment turned into a weird savior trope out of nowhere. To me it felt really icky that a character having a meltdown/panic attack has to be saved by a love interest.
