the appearance of gabriel’s smirk had jack’s eyes NARROWING, suspecting there’s some amount of TEASING that’s about to be directed HIS WAY. …assumption proves CORRECT, & arms - folded prior - now only TIGHTEN, the strike commander casting glance somewhere else beyond his shoulder, unwilling to meet the face that taunts him ( additionally, doing so does WONDERS to turn his POUT from sight ).

a roll of his shoulders & self-pitying reaches quick conclusion as he turns back towards reyes, the nickname only serving to further heat the back of his neck.

his attendance in their CO’s office had been COMMON—during training simulations he’d been known to make off-the-wall calls that detoured some of which they were taught - not that jack didn’t take hours & HOURS of rigorous training into account when put through S.E.R.E training, he just… treated certain aspects as OPTIONS, working out his own strategies & plots for more successful outcomes. —in the end, they hadn’t removed him from the program, but that likely had more to do with his impressive marks than their hopes towards rectifying his minor insubordination. 

all traces of petulance leaves him as reyes makes to move, jack’s stance adjusting some, now just about standing at attention ;

Gabe pretended not to see Jack pouting at the teasing he was submitted to. He knew, pushing Jack too far and making fun of him too much would just ruin both their moods. Although, he would've been lying if he said that he didn't thoroughly enjoy challenging the blond male a bit, every now and then. A sarcastic laugh escaped him, when Jack said that he got the job done regardless. „Yeah, because we all carried you!“ He said and winked at the other. „My back still hurts to this day from carrying you through our army days. I still think you owe me something for that.“ He grinned widely, remembering the days clearly as if they weren't too far away. At Jack's suggestion, he thought about it for a few seconds, then he shrugged and nodded. „Sure, why not,“ he said and grabbed his phone, slipped it into his pocket and then left the office with Jack. He punched in his password on a little keypad next to the door and had it scan is fingerprint afterwards, then the door made a beeping sound and a red light on the keypad indicated that the door was now locked. Gabe grabbed his phone and checked it. 11:56pm. Nothing better than a small midnight snack on a saturday evening. He put his phone away again and slipped his hands into the pockets of his hoodie, glanced at Jack and then made his way down the hallway to the elevator with him. The mess hall was a few floors above them. „I can tell you one thing for sure,“ he said and scoffed. „New agents are the worst. It's like they have no discipline whatsoever. I'm glad I can just leave training them up to McCree and Genji. I really can't be bothered these days.“ He sighed melodramatically. „I'm getting old, Jackie,“ Gabe then added before he pushed the elevator button.

Pro: They’re simply badass together, both mature and serious but I think that’s what could make them a good fit. They both have a no-bullshit attitude so I think there wouldn’t be alot of drama and they’d both be pretty straightforward if they have some kind of problem with how things are going Contra: They’re both kind of grumpy and stubborn so there’s potential there for them to clash. in conclusion: Love it
