ooc Now that the hefty ask is out of the way, time to get to replies! Woo!
I wish I could get more excited about OCs. I always feel like, because they don't have a ~canon reason~ to care that my muse is alive, they probably won't / don't, so I'd just be getting myself disappointed if I interacted with them. I realize that's probably just my anxiety talking, but it's difficult. Genuine question: how do you get / stay excited?
Oh man! This is the standard the thing you fear is more scared of you than you are of them situation. People pour their souls into OCs! They work so hard, sculpting backstory out of harden clay sculptures, giving personality traits to thin air, pulling names from a hat and making it fit so rightly together. They spend hours on head-canons, they make blogs for characters that no one else knows and they put themselves out there, knowing there is a chance that no one will even look twice at their blog.
That is the thing about OCs. They’re hard to get off the ground if you, as the mun, aren’t already established ( and sometimes they’re still hard to get going ). Muns of OCs are some of the hardest working rpers that I know, not only bc they have to campaign for their own characters but because they are so often looked over for canon interactions. The writing could be richer, the plots could be fuller, the chemistry could be just right but 3/5ths of the time people just ghost them. Hard.
If you feel like there is no reason that their character would care that yours is alive, you have to come up with one. Forge a relationship with the mun ( just message them, OC muns are cool as fuck as a whole. only a few bad experiences under my belt with the. ), see if they have a relationship in mind and if not come up with a few as back up. Pick OCs you think that your character will mesh well with, or terribly with, someone that can create a reaction from your muse.
TLDR: Don’t be afraid to talk to the muns about possible relationships is my main piece of advice on this one though!
I know approaching people can be hard and challenging for a good lot of us that deal with anxiety, but at the end of the day, we are all here to have fun and write together. So put yourself out there!

“ You are upset… was it something that I said? Have I offended you? “
“Wouldn’t go that far, not offended, just taken aback is all.” Thirteen shrugged thin shoulders as she stood before the woman. “Most people don’t start a conversation like that.”
Villain or Hero Edition:
-“You’re going to save them and for what? They don’t appreciate you!”
-“You spill your blood for this city/village and for what? So they can never know the name of the man/woman who saved their miserable lives?”
-“How many times are you going to bleed for them?”
-“Aren’t you tired yet? Haven’t you had enough?”
-“Despair, misery, and chaos. It’s like air to me. But to watch them suffer is much more entertaining.”
-“Look at their miserable lives and tell me what you see. They’re just begging for you to end them.”
-“You’re conflicted I can see it. You don’t want to be the hero but you’re not evil enough to be the villain. So what are you?”
-“You can’t be nothing because you have to be something.”
-“You can’t be nobody you have to be somebody. They need you. Help them.”
-“You’ve shed enough blood. It’s time to stop. You’ve avenged their deaths enough.”
-“You’ve fought until your face was bloody, your ribs cracked, and your soul broken. How much more can you give to them!”
-“You won’t be satisfied until your dead.”
-“This city/village has torn you apart. They don’t deserve anymore saving.”
-“You’d give your soul to them? They won’t ever be satisfied until you’re dead.”
-“You give and you give and give when is it your turn to take?”
-“You’ll burn this city/village to the ground. Murder its people. And then will you be satisfied?”
-“I can’t watch you tear yourself apart anymore for these people.”
-“You’re cruel.”
-“You’ve been caught. There’s nothing more you can do so why are you still fighting?”
-“It’s over. It was a long war filled with countless bodies and bloodshed. So stop…it’s over.”
-“I know you. You aren’t this terrible person people see you as and made you become. There’s still some light within you. I see it…”
-“What has the world done to you to make you feel this broken that you feel the need to hurt other people?”
-“You hurt others because they hurt you.”
-“I can see the torment within you. I can especially tell by the way you mangle the bodies of your enemies.”
-“You don’t owe people anything else.”
-“You’re like the sun and moon. You can either be the light that guides peoples lives to a better world. Or you can be the moon and darken their world. Or- you can be an eclipse and be a little bit of both good and evil.”
-“What do YOU want to become?”
-“You’re the only one who can give others hope.”
-“If it wasn’t for you we’d all be dead.”
-“The histories will never know who really saved us because he/she didn’t want to be known as a hero.”
-“Don’t die for our selfish selves.”
-“You brought this upon yourself.”
-“You can either save lives or take them. So which is it? Who will you become?”
-“You say you’d burn the city/village to the ground. But what happens when you’re standing on a pile of ash and smoke with no subjects to rule?”
-“Your mentor molded you to be a monster.”
-“Your mentor molded you to be a beckon of hope for others.”
-“They will never bow to you.”
-“You’re nothing but a usurper from a foreign place to us. We will never call you King/Queen.”
-“You hide behind a mask all the time and I don’t mean the one upon your face.”
-“Of all the things to have happened to you are you still capable of love?”
-“You were born a villain but you will die a hero.”
-“You were born a hero but will die a villain.”
-“You’ve changed since we first met. You’re becoming something I don’t recognize anymore.”
-“You’re no longer a man. You’re a beast.”
-“Greatness was thrust upon you but you decided not to take it. Why?”
-“We don’t choose these roles they just happen.”
-“I won’t watch you die.”
-“What are you fighting for?”
-“Fates can be changed there’s still time.”
-“Your fate isn’t set in stone.”
-“There’s pain in my chest every time I see you in anguish.”
-“You never meant anything to them. So you turned into the thing they feared the most to leave an impression upon them.”
-“I wish you could see your worth.”
-“Your life is not worth the weight of gold they will pay you for helping them.”
-“I won’t watch you become someone I don’t recognize.”
-“I can’t even say who are you becoming because I don’t even know what you are anymore.
-"When they write of your history they will say it began on this day.”
-“Your scars are a reminder of who you were. So never forget who bled for this village/city. Who it was that saved the damned and the good. Who it was that almost died for them. Who it was that became a legend in their eyes. A legend to be remembered a thousand years from now.”
"doctor...?" clara whispered, barely able to keep her eyes open as the time lord looked at her. she smiled weakly when she felt the doctor's soft hands against her bloodied cheeks. she had no idea how long she'd been here - the days and nights had become one & the same. she slept when they left her alone, & when she was awake they tortured her until her throat was too raw to scream any longer. the doctor was a sight for saw eyes. "you found me."
@onebeatleft
Minutes had turned to hours, hours had turned into a day, a day had turned into almost a week and her mind was on fire.Thirteen had been looking for days. She should have held her closer, should have made her walk behind, should have made her stay. She should have just made her stay.
There was a promise, one that she had made to herself a long time ago. A promise of care. A duty. One that she had taken so seriously, one that she had been fighting for and becoming for so long and yet she had let that poor girl slip through her fingers like sand. Human beings, what resilient creatures, what beautiful creations and she lost her.
The impossible girl. She had come back to her and she had lost her again.
Why did she always have to lose people?
On day three, that’s when she broke. When The Doctor became the On-Coming Storm. She was not afraid any longer, she was just pissed. She was angry and anger was not an emotion that she wore well. Always the runner, but now she was running with a purpose. Plowing down people for a purpose.
When all hope was lost, when steam was running out from behind the barreling train that had become of the Gallifreyan, that is when she found her.
Her hands turned to rope, pulling herself to the girl, palm cupping cheek as she leaned down, capturing everything that she could of this moment. The Doctor saw liquid falling onto the girl’s face, but in this moment, she did not realize the tears were her own. “Clara, oh my Clara.” Her voice broke, holding the fragile shell in her arms. “I will always find you.”

“No, no, you’re right!” The Doctor spun on his heal. “Should have knocked, that is on me, that is my bad.”

“What do you say?” The Doctor stood on the edge of the drop, looking out over the sand dunes with a smile. “Fancy some sand boarding?” He offered her the second board, eyebrow arched in an almost daring fashion.

“What’s the matter, p’ting got your tongue?” He smiled, playful in his stance before his face twisted. “Actually, that one wouldn’t make much sense, don’t much like organic matter, anyway. Back to point. You are being unusually quiet.”

“will you please just be nice and help me put the star on top of the tree?”
“i swear this was easier when i was taller.” the doctor muttered this under her breath as she gingerly took the topper from the woman. tip toes and teetering on the edge of falling but she managed to secure it to the top. “aha! glad you didn’t get a taller tree.”
a fools guide to not wanting to die anymore
by me, a fool who doesnt wanna die anymore
never make a suicide joke again. yes this includes “i wanna die” as a figure of speech. swear off of it. actually make an effort to change how you think about things.
find something to compliment someone for at least 4 times a day. notice the little things about the world that make you happy, and use that to make other people happy.
talk to people. initiate conversation as often as you possibly can. keep your mind busy and you wont have to worry anymore
picture the bad intrusive thoughts in youe head as an edgy 13 year old and tell them to go be emo somewhere else
if someone makes you feel bad most of the time, stop talking to them. making yourself hang out with people who drain you is self harm. stop it.

That’s some pretty good advice. I don’t know what’s left of my humor after ‘guess I’ll just die’ jokes but it’s worth a shot.
Personally i went from “guess I’ll die” jokes to “IF I HAVE TO BE HERE FOR 5 MORE MINUTES I PROMISE YOU I WILL BUY JUST, AN ARRAY OF CLOTHES.” and other wild hyperbolic stuff. Just replace the death part with something ridiculous and off topic. Its very entertaining
This also works with calling myself things like stupid, worthless, trash, etc. Even if you do this jokingly to yourself, your brain still believes it, and keeps up the cycle. Seriously, I found that when I stopped saying these things about myself, even jokingly, it made a massive difference.
Here’s a tip I picked up from a friend that’s helped me a lot — replace self deprecating jokes with ironically self aggrandizing jokes
Like every time I trip and fall, instead of saying “l’m just a disaster human” I say “I’m the epitome of grace and beauty”
Or like, when I draw a picture I’m not 100% happy with, instead of saying “my art is trash” I say something like “you know I think it’s time we replaced the Mona Lisa”
When you do that you get to make a joke, but you’re ALSO getting practice building yourself up, y’know?
And eventually it becomes a reflex and you get so used to it that you can say nice stuff about yourself even when you AREN’T joking
This is so important
