Both eyebrows rose in surprise, not expecting to see Heizou there. Or really at all. She hadn't recruited him for her latest hunt simply because of his affiliation with the IPC, no matter how loose.

"I did." Roxy offered one of her trademark playful grins. "I moved into the realm of the professional nerd. I did miss seein' your pretty face now and again though. What's up?"

"Up? Whoever said anything needed to be up?" Of course he was probably there for some sort of case, but that didn't really matter. It had nothing to do with her and she didn't need to know about it.

"Most of the IPC is scrambling around Penacony so I'm just conveniently avoiding it for now."

It was hard not to laugh a little. "Riiiiight. This world isn't ready for that." She had been in the spotlight for many things, but never her voice. "Might be better off playing instruments in the background."

"You ever sing or play music before?"

"Me? Nah, the arts weren't anything I grew up with." A smile and a shrug. "My dad was focused on teaching me martial arts and that was pretty much it."

"Har har." She crossed her arms. "I think this event has enough excitement without Whopperflowers joining. Besides, I'm not about to get in between the Itto Paimon rivalry. Much more fun to watch."

"Sure, but you could settle the squabble by showing them what a real singer looks like." He's having a lot of fun teasing her, mostly because they hadn't seen each other in a while so he had a lot of time to catch up on.

“Fancy seeing you here.” Why is Heizou doing at University of Veritas Prime? Whatever he wanted, because for the most part the IPC didn’t have him reigned-in nearly as much as they’d like. “Haven’t seen you since you last needed some info. Thought you slipped into another dimension or something.”

"That's one way to put it. He doesn't like that I didn't want to dedicate my life to martial arts. And I think he can tell I still resent him for making me wake up before dawn every day to study." A sigh left his lips. "I'd just been having my cousin be a go-between since she visits our village every now and then but I guess it wasn't enough."
