I took some time…more like a TON of time, and gave my favorite villain a makeover. More like some new clothes :)

Originally, my intent was to give Loki more of a Nordic/Viking style but it wasn’t working out with the shoulder (I really wanted to draw the horned pauldron lol), so it ended up more Lord of the Rings (which is still cool). The boots are a little silly and I’m still not 100% sure about the headband but overall I’m happy with his look. I’ll makeover his bro next :P

I was inspired by my friend Alan Villanueva’s work (he’s a costume illustrator for film). He’s one of my biggest inspirations and motivators.

Loki, the Fool (Inktober Tarot prompt)

Wishing to undertake an Inktober challenge, and being intrigued by the tarot, I’ve decided to use it as my prompt this year. I’m using the Major Arcana in particular. And Loki, of course. Quoting a site called Labyrinthos:

“These cards follow a storyline that tells of the spiritual travels taken from the innocent wonder of The Fool to the oneness and fulfillment of The World. In other words, these cards tell the story of humanity's spiritual evolution into enlightenment and individuation.”
