Actually had someone do this to me too. Was doing a art stream, it took me over 2 hours to do his inked commission, he got a refund cause ‘it took too long’ that he figured I wasn’t going to do it after I gave him the file.

I’ve had this happen to me with a $350 comic :/ I had already finished it, it was full color, 6 panels and had a full bg in every panel. I was lucky in that I didn’t spend him money yet, but it left me without funds. I’ve also had the above happen to me as well.

Don’t do this shit to artists. We’re people too. Drawing for you is more than a hobby. It’s a job.

Use Paypal Invoices. 

I cannot stress this enough. That shit helps A LOT when it comes down to Paypal refunds/disputes. There’s a description box that let’s you put in what the product is/how long it’ll take/yadda yadda, and then there’s another little memo box that only you and paypal can see where you can say it’s a digital commission and doesn’t require shipping (So Donald Mcfuck can’t say that they never got their commission). And there’s also a box for your Terms & Conditions where you can say, if you have any conflicts/want a refund - email me, or you can actually tell the user that this is a digital commission and they won’t be getting a hard copy of it.

ARTISTS. PLEASE USE PAYPAL INVOICES. it will SAVE you. And to: the people who do this to artists – Fuck you. It’s okay if you change your mind and want a refund. But freaking TALK to us and let us know what’s going on. Let us WORK with you.

ALSO A HUGE TIP: Invoices paid will automatically set up a shipping notice which, if not fulfilled, can land you in SERIOUS hot water with PayPal. Since a lot of artists don’t print and ship the commissions, this is a huge problem.

However! Totally manageable. Just go to your PayPal, scroll down to find Seller Preferences

As a big supporter of artists, don’t you ever fucking dare fuck over an artist like that. Like don’t. And if they take their time to do a good job, don’t shit all over them for it! Don’t be a fucking ass hole. Just don’t. These people put a  LOT of work and time and effort into their artwork. Just don’t be that guy. Often times these artists aren’t even getting what they deserve in compensation.

Usagi was walking home from school. Today had been a really tiring day getting yelled at by her teacher for forgetting her homework as per usual. As she stops by for a meat bun to help cheer her up. Usagi notices a small girl walking around that vaguely looks like Chibiusa. The young child appeared to be sporting a bunny ear headband with a slightly alternate bun hairstyle compared to her future daughter Chibiusa. 

“What?! Did something happen to my future self again?!!” Usagi panicking slightly. She hurried over to the kid and calmly tried to introduce herself. “Oh, hello there! My name is Usagi. Are you lost, little girl?” Usagi nervously smiled and tried to remain calm. She hoped it was maybe just a wild coincidence this child reminded her of Chibiusa.

Melinoë quietly walked through the bookstore, eyes scanning the shelves. They frowned, before walking towards the nearest person.

"Excuse me," Lin said, a lock of their pink and black hair absentmindedly wrapped around their hand. "I'm so sorry to bother you, but do you have any idea where I could find books on Greek mythology?"

Lin patiently waited while they looked for the book, then smiled as it was handed to them. “Thank you so much!”

They turned the book over in their hands, before settling it and the first one in their elbow. ‘This would be perfect,’ they thought.

Lin nodded. “Yes, I think that’s all I needed. Thank you so much for the help!” They really were grateful, and tried to let the other girl know.

Usagi was really happy. She was always so nervous when starting out at a new job, but today seemed to be her lucky time to shine for once. She takes the book to the cash register and gets the payment sorted out for the nice lady customer.

“Oh and by the way, miss! Since you have such interest in Greek myth. Would you be interested in attending a Greek exhibit that my boyfriend will be hosting in two days from now on Thursday evening? He gave me some free tickets to give out to people, so you’re more than welcome to attend!” Usagi then wraps the book in a paper bag, and slips the Greek exhibit ticket into the bag. “Thank you for stopping by! Come again" Usagi smiled warmly and waved goodbye at the nice lady.

Lin smiled as they followed the worker. They patiently waited as she looked, then took the offered book. “Well this isn’t quite what I was looking for, but it’s a start for sure!” Lin said with a laugh.

“I was actually looking for something geared more towards adults, since the kids ones tend to avoid some aspects of some of the stories. But this could still work for a comparing and contrasting of how the stories are presented to kids and older people.” Their mom had asked them to write a paper on how humans interpreted things versus how they’d actually gone, why not add the kiddified version? Not that they had to explain that to a stranger.

Lin grinned warmly, hoping to reassure her. “No worries about not knowing where things are yet, it takes time to learn things like that. You’re only human after all.” Lin couldn’t help adding a wink at the end of that.

Usagi smiled and let out a heartfelt sigh. “Oh! Of course! I will continue looking for your Greek book. No problem at all.” Usagi beamed. This time she would ask for help from her supervisor. The store supervisor smiled both at Usagi and the woman that she would gladly help them out. Finally Usagi found the book they had been looking for. “I think this should be what you’re after, miss. Usagi smiled again and gave the kind lady a book called Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes by Edith Hamilton. 

The supervisor explained that was one the best sellers they had on Greek Myth, and had very detailed information on the stories and deities from that time period of Greece. Usagi looked again at the customer and smiled. “Would that be all, miss?”

It was Usagi’s first day working at the book store. She was slightly startled when a lady customer came from behind. “O-oh my! Greek mythology? Well, it should be around here somewhere!” She nervously smiled as she tried to find the store section containing mythology and fiction. 

She looked quite a bit till she found something “O-oh! Could this be what you need?” Usagi handed over what appeared to be a children's book on Greek myth stories. “Sorry if it’s not quite what you’re after. I can look again.” She giggled and nervously smiled at the lady. “It’s my first day here, and I’m still new to where all the books are placed.”
