     He was cute - - - really  c u t e ,        Tooth would have to admit. But        he was definitely in need of a manners        check! Calling a customer c r a z y ?        Just for carrying around some teeth?        Cute didn't excuse rude.

      "Hey, baby teeth are important! They have         life-saving stem cells!" the rainbow brunette         protested in her defense. "And they're adorable."         She couldn't understand why parents would         want to throw them away after their child's visit.

                      " . . . Tooth."        Dang it.        He wasn't going to let her live that down.

       She said determinate,        accompanied of a single nod.        The cakes were spongy-ish to the        touch and lukewarm, her        butter knife dipping in frost        delicately before pressing it        to the pastry. She tried to do        even circles over the treat,        after what she sat the cake        on a plate and let the sprinkles        fall like a handful of sand. 

             ❛ Have you got your eye on anyone, though? ❜

    Wow. That was more sprinkles      than Tooth had expected, but . . .      well, that was what dentists were      for, right? And one super sweet      cupcake wouldn't kill anyone.       Tooth had started to put away      the sticky bowls and utensils      when Anna suddenly popped      a question.            Guilt immediately sprang            in her heart, causing the            girl to swallow, head forced            to shake.

       "No, not yet!         . . . although this one        guy from class, Jack Frost,       came over to work on a project       yesterday, and my little cousins       could NOT stop talking about       how cute he is. I had to calm       them down !

                --he does have beautiful                 white teeth, though. They sparkle                 like freshly fallen snow!"

                   perplexed by this girl’s appearance, she                                 looks much too exuberant to be l o s t in                                 the vicious jungles of Africa such as these.                                 Brows do raise as he gently allows himself                                 to land in front of her, leaning forward curiously.                                 It is not but five seconds later until he snatches                                 her hat, brows furrowing as he looks into it                                 like there’s fucking Narnia on the other side                                 or something. He sniffs into it, taking a whiff                                 of her scent to etch it into his memory for as                                 long as he needed. Then he places it back on                                 her head and returns to lean on his haunches                                 as if nothing had even happened.

                                “Your heart…it is attacking you?”

    "Hey!" the girl shouts to no avail when           her hat { brand new , spun from dyed straw            and given to her as a traveling gift from her           little cousins } is promptly seized off her head           and taken into the custody of the tan, naked stranger's           hands. "What are you--" Tooth starts, but is soon           caught up watching him as he stares at the hat as if           he's never seen any kind of hat-wear before.           It's very possible.                     "--uh, thank you," she manages,                      still well-mannered despite the confusion.                      His next statement, however, quickly pops                     her mouth open.

                               "What? Oh, no! No, that just means                                  you  s u r p r i s e d  me !                                  I'm Tooth, by the way!                                   And can I just say,                                  you have beautiful hair."                                                          she leaned forward to touch                                                           it slightly.

                                 "I've never seen it worn                                    like that before!"
