THE FRIGHT OF YOUR LIFE

RUTHERFORD, OREGON. On the edge of the woods, adjacent to Rutherford University, sits a house, sad and sagging with time. On the third Sunday in September the students of Rutherford flock to the old house and spend the night - a ritual they call THE FRIGHT. Thirty students entered this house, but this year something came out with them. [ mn ]

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to close TORMENTHQ. While the experience in running this roleplay has been amazing we have noticed a severe dip of activity and a loss of muse in most of the muns. We had a strong creative direction going in with this group and that just didn’t end up panning out the way we had planned - this is no one's fault, sometimes things just don’t go the way you want them too.  We apologize to all of our current members. And to our current and past members - each and every one of you had been absolutely amazing and made the experience (as short as it was) wonderful. You are all of course welcome to continue writing, plotting, threading, but for now it’s time for us to close our doors. We hope we can write with you again in the future and thank you for taking the time and interest in our story!

When do u guys usually accept??

honestly, we don’t really have a set schedule. if we get in a few apps we’ll accept ( like if we fill in our 30 character total ) otherwise, if we wait a couple days and we haven’t received any new apps we’ll likely accept right then !!

hi there again, anon asking about activity and interested in joining. i had another question and it's concerning connections. so i and another person are really interested in joining with are two ocs who are connected, would that be okay? like could we just mention their connection and all of that in both our bios / beneath the surface sections?

What kind of characters are you lacking?

well, not to cop out and say any character !! but any types of characters would be welcomed. however - if you really did want a solid opinion on that, i’d love to see some more graduate students as well as more students involved in the arts? ?? like, film, theatre, photography, and visual media !!

With this second plot drop comes our first pair shuffle. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, a pair shuffle is something of a blend between a task and an event. Characters are paired up and each pair will receive a prompt – in this case, the plot drop! Since we have an odd number, one character will be paired up twice. This is an opportunity to write and develop your character(s) with someone else you may not necessarily interact with IC. While you’re welcome to carry on your threads for as long as you like, we ask that each thread have at least 10 notes before 18 February (real time). It’s completely up to each pair how long each reply should be. You’re welcome to incorporate any element of this post into your thread, but keep an eye out for additional plot drops to come during & following the storms !!

hi there! i'm thinking of joining this rpg 'cause it sounds interesting, but i was wondering what's the overall activity and progression among members? i've been in and out of many rpgs and am looking for a steady one to join; ie frequent posting / threading / plot development.

hello! we’re so glad you found us and are interested. I would definitely say our dash flows regularly with our members posting throughout the day. We have a good spread in timezones which means that you’re pretty much guaranteed someone will be on at all times of the day. We as admins also try to keep the pace moving fairly regularly, mostly through asks and plot drops – one of which you’ll see today !!
