I’m not even sure how to start this, but as of right now while Naomi & I are here, we’re not really here. We both are absolutely gutted, broken, devastated, pissed, you name it.
At the point neither of us are sure how we’ll keep this blog going, we can’t fathom it frankly. If we do, we’ll certainly be less active. And if we don’t, please know we absolutely love each and every one of you- the almost 2k followers that this amazing fandom (that deserved so much more) reached.
We’ll love you forever & hopefully we’ll find the will to keep this on ❤️
nick, you didn't have to come.
oh, yeah, i did. we made a promise to each other a long time ago.
no secrets...i used to think goodbye was easier if i didn't say it.
and now?
now i'll save us both the trouble.
What are some theories you have about the new Ellie episode with information from the promo photos and article now? I’ve been enjoying your Ellick analysis and reactions for a long time- still can’t believe she’s really going to be back!
I just realized that in those photos, the space Ellie and Nick are in, that’s his apartment. In S18E7 they show his place and it’s an exact match for the bg in those photos. Currently spiraling over that because THE IMPLICATIONS
TODAYS THE DAY THE SUN IS SHINING (in germany at least which is a small miracle in it of itself and im taking this as a good omen)
side note my apologies for taking forever to respond, work & life have been insane to say the least recently.
since you’ve written this we’ve gotten confirmation she is in fact in his apartment!!! and he knows without even seeing her??? hc it’s bc of her smell 🤭 but YES god there was so much to analyze and i never got the time to properly do as such which makes me incredibly sad so instead you will just get incoherent and unorganized ramblings!
i did try and go back to look through outfits and time of day (there were sadly no timestamps in any sneak peek or promo or last ep) to see timeline as best i could. ellie says she’ll do it tonight which of course leads you to believe it’s the apartment scene but then they’re in completely different outfits and presumably the funeral was already later in the day AND we’ve seen several clips of both the team fighting dudes and nick in vance’s office etc in the same outfit ellie is in nicks apartment in. so like??? idk i go back and forth but current theory is the “do it tonight” ends up being whatever picture ellie sends nick (anonymously? but also something he’d immediately recognize as her from an inside thing?) and the decoy file. hence nick in Vance’s office questioning if he’d been in contact bc like technically speaking he hasn’t but he suspects it’s her etc. jess is told maybe the night before (funeral night) about the decoy file? and that’s the whole explosion clip and her in full tactical gear we see in the promo. then vance calls in nick next day to ask him but is then also just given the news? idk could be same day but like jess’ CO references tonight and it is very clearly day in vance’s office. anyways the outfit nick is in matches with him and McGee going to some random office (presumably the “location” they think ellie is in) and then team in the bullpen that evening debriefing bc wtf is happening where is ellie (she outsmarted us bc that’s my genius girl who is absolutely ten steps ahead and didn’t like whatever rogue mission/target they put her on- nick’s undercover past colliding with her undercover present anyone??? and decided she would intentionally get the teams attention with tiny breadcrumbs aka mistakes she’d never actually make but she only trusts nick and nick’s ability to convince the team for help)
anyways flash forward to nick going home, sensing ellie in his apartment, he closes off those walls so fast tries to store his old feelings in his mental backpack and says he has to call it in like his insides aren’t in complete butterfly knots at the sight of her. ellie tactfully inches toward him while keeping him distracted and talking (and he! doesn’t! back! away!!! that’s my loverboy i knew you never left) so that when he does try to call she is within arms reach of expertly disarming (not literally but can’t think of a better word) him and cuffing him to the chair so that she can in fact explain herself. personally i think she gets enough time to quickly explain the shit that went down, beg for his trust, etc before jess comes knocking bc she’s worried about nick having to hunt for his old partner aka lover. to her surprise ellie is there and nick is still handcuffed and they fistfight (preferably with nick watching and getting a little turned on by his “little badass” being so skilled). ellie better, and im looking at the writers bc of what SHOULD be her development in the 4.5 years we haven’t seen her, win technically and then explain to jess what’s happening. jess will look to nick to see if he trusts ellie and we’ll get this huge tense moment but in the end he does still love her trust her.
they concoct the autopsy plan to get ellie inside so kasie can help prove whatever she needs in the lab and jess tries to go skirt the truth and give a somewhat falsified update to keep her CO happy. from there we get angsty reunions and eventually they work together to fix this rogue mission or whatever and absolve ellie of the fugitive status. i think nick and ellie will have some alone time at some point to talk through what happened to them (after everything is done) and i HOPE they come to some agreement of there was love there and there still is but anything is going to take a lot of time for healing. im guessing ellie will decide to take time off and go off grid or something? maybe we’ll get a callout to her family in oklahoma??? (a girl can dream). and they say goodbye the night before but then nick still rides out to the airport to see her one last time (& maybe try to stop her???? that one may have to be for fics). I’d love to see her realize he still came in the morning and look back as she boards the tiny plane both with small, tentative smiles on their faces bc they got a second chance.
ok that ending is VERY fanfic/fanservice coded but like. they did say her ending was open and she could easily return if they want to write a storyline for her. PLUS i feel like in one of the many articles emily says it’s a love letter to the fans? anyways here’s my delusional hope rambled theory. i didn’t mention that scene of them hooking up in the promo- i go back and forth on it. the rational part of me says it’s probably going to be a flashback of them in ellie’s apartment (it’s not nicks bed frame). but then the delusional part of me is like maybe they hook up one more time the night before she leaves again bc close calls make you love live harder and they’d both rather have something than nothing in the end. idk!!!
if you’ve gotten this far clearly you’ve missed my insane analyses too! thanks for sticking with me i missed this show and this ship so damn much 😭 can’t believe they’re back on my screen TONIGHT!!!!! 😭😭😭
One of TV's most beloved will-they-won't-they pairings is nearly back as Emily Wickersham prepares for her grand return to 'NCIS' — and to h
"On her first NCIS: Elite mission, Knight is given orders to hunt down and arrest Eleanor Bishop after the former member of the NCIS team is designated a wanted cyber-terrorist. In need of someone to trust, Bishop turns to Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), and the two come face to face for the first time since she abruptly left nearly five years ago."
Oh. My. Gaawwd. Ahhh! I saw that Emily was in California a bit ago, but didn't want to get my hopes up. I can't believe I just saw Ellie Bishop on my tv in the year 2025! (I don't know if anyone still checks this blog, but I needed to scream somewhere 😅)
HELLO
ive unfortunately had the tiniest bit of hopes up since may 27th 2021 and look where its gotten me!!! vindication!! ever heard about the girl who lives in delusion?? yep it’s me and it pays OFF!!
early november i tweeted about the crumbs (indirect ellie mention in the tiva spinoff, emily helping davy edit the origins spinoff & emily being in la for an extended period of time) and then a mere four days ago:
i cannot but at the same time can believe i just saw ellie bishop on my screen with a heavily implied ellick angst storyline like!!!! i am THRIVING
No sense of hesitancy, and someone who didn’t know him like she did wouldn’t pick up the dash of self-directed shame that mixed in to the simple statement.
The bartender made quick work- not that it was hard, the bottle of scotch hadn’t gone far. The contents had, they’d travelled down the scruff-laded neck with a quick pitstop in the shot glass first. Each gulp smoother yet simultaneously less coordinated, if that was possible.
“You wanna call it, bud?” the older man behind the mahogany bar asked. And she could tell it was familiar. Not pitying, not fearful, not even largely concerned. Just…familiar.
He’d done this before. He had this conversation frequently. More than just the few nights she’d tagged along for in the last week.
Oh, Nick.
He’d been sober when she’d walked away that brisk early summer afternoon. Sober for a few months even. He’d stuck to club soda for a while, she thought, remembering his little joke from a month into it. Poking fun at their earlier selves, when their world was about to upend with news of Ziva’s reappearance, but worrying about who was worrying about who seemed important.
A calloused fingertip caught a stray drop of ice cold condensation before it could reach the bar top, dragging it back up the path it came from- back to the top of the highball glass filled with none other than- club soda.
And if that wasn’t the metaphor of her life these past two years. A year under, two to get out. Trapped, desperate to retrace her steps, reverse the path that took her here. Three years later and back in her rightful place, or was she?
She peered at the damage her fingertip had done—a small drop of condensation that skated around the other tiny beads, slipping away from them, out of sight- out of mind. Except now, trying to forcibly put the drop back in its place, she’d left a wake of destruction. Thousands of tiny beads smeared across the glass surface, a bulldozed path five times as wide as the first, innocent one.
She may have slipped out of his life, but would coming back destroy more than it would fix? Was it a fool’s journey to try and put something back that probably didn’t belong in the first place?
“…f-fuck, man!” Nick’s slurred but firm timbre was clear as day, even in her seat at the far, catty-corner end of the bar.
Her vision moved from the messy highball and up to the mirrored bar backsplash, angled perfectly for her to take in Nick’s flared nostrils and the bartender’s relaxed stance. Clearly he wasn’t put off or even remotely surprised by the outburst. Hell, no one in the bar even twitched.
Quieter, more solemn, he continued, “I fucking loved her,” his head sagged and shoulders dropped- like the life had been sucked out of him with those four simple words. The air around her stilled, vanished even. Nothing passed over her slack lips.
She could make out the bartender’s slight tilt of his head, silently urging Nick to continue even as Nick’s eyes never left the empty shot glass in front of him.
“Ellie,” it came out as a whisper and every muscle fiber in her body froze. But his eyes hadn’t lifted to her spot at the bar, they’d glazed over, unfocused on the present, rather likely focused on the millions of small memories her mind was now flipping through. Each time her name crossed his lips, in joy, in fear, in love, she melancholically surmised.
“I loved Ellie,” Nick amended his earlier statement.
And the bartender shifted his weight back, nothing else had surprised the man, but this statement apparently had. It hadn’t been the declaration of love, had it? It had to have been her name. Nick had never put a name to the claim. Never wanted to make it real, she bet.
What had changed? Why now? She’d probably never get her answers. He loved her, past tense. Three years past.
Another flicker of movement caught her drifting attention- his fingertip, chasing its own path, circling the top of the shot glass. Round and round it went, never easing up, almost like it couldn’t, like it refused to falter or move on. Circling and retracing, wondering where it all went wrong? she guessed pessimistically.
Until it paused.
And his chin lifted.
Eyes steeled as best the welled up tears would allow.
“I love her.”
Fuck.
She couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t move, she couldn’t think.
“I still love Ellie...” Nick clarified to the riveted bartender.
Her existence here, in DC at this bar in the periphery of Nick’s life, hung on his next words that came out as a deflated sigh.
